Sick

I got sick this week, so there's that.

Luckily, I didn't need to take a break from work. I did need though to take a break from the gym.

I got a bad case of sore throat last Wednesday and when I felt it wasn't about to get better, I decided to ditch the gym.

In which case I was right. I took a nap immediately when I got home that day, in which I had chills. I had also chills that night.

Luckily, after drinking some meds, I was a lot better on Thursday, and when Friday came, my only problem was my runny nose.

Right now, for some reason, I have an itchy throat, but nothing close to the sore throat I had. Hopefully it's gone by tomorrow.

Quite a busy week at work, but nothing too drastic.

Lowkey looking forward to Mondays now, at least Monday mornings since I decided I'll have pancit canton with eggs during Monday.

Pretty good week overall.

We only had one working day at work, since Tuesday and Wednesday were holidays, and Thursday-Saturday were days for our teambuilding at work.

Marianne and I met during the holidays where I got to got with her to the gym again.

The teambuilding at Bataan was fun. It was very hot as expected. Our team managed to get second place at the amazing race run. I had eight beers. I got to drink and swim again for the first time in a long time.

Funny enough, one of my favorite parts of this week is when I got to buy a pumice stone at Watsons. I have calluses on my palms because of lifting.

It really is effective and still really amazes me how it softens the calluses

Holy Week 2024

A week late in writing about the Holy Week break.

It was actually a pleasant surprise for me that Marianne got to spend the Holy Week at our house. Initially, I was just supposed to ask my parents if she can stay over since the ButtSquad was supposed to have a hike but the plan didn't push through. It was then my mother who talked to me who said that dad brought up the idea if Marianne would want to stay over.

Her stay at our home was relatively chill. I actually felt a little bit guilty since I wasn't able to plan something while she was here.

But it was fun for me, and hopefully for her during the break. We got to play Tekken and watch movies. My mother also got to interview get to know her better and showed my childhood pics which includes a naked me taking a shit, which I guess she really liked.

We went to a honey bee farm where we got to take some pictures and have a nice view of the Taal lake.

It was really fun having her at our home. At least for a while, my parents got to experience what's it having like having a daughter and me experiencing what it's like having my partner on the same roof for quite a long period of time.

It made me happy.

Enjoyed

So, another week has passed.

Last Monday, I did something irresponsible. I didn't report to work because I literally stayed up until past 7 am playing Tekken. Welp, that's the first and last time for that.

Lowkey though, I'm quite happy that I did it. Made me realize I'm capable of prioritizing time to enjoy for myself instead of work and money, even for just a short while. Now I hope I can extend that mindset to some bigger things, like traveling, which still makes me hesitant because of the amount I would need to shell out and right now I still don't have vacation leaves at work (damn it).

Work was fine this week. There was a busy day but the rest was fine.

Rockets are on an 8 game winning streak and just 1.5 games behind the Warriors as of this writing. It's tough but I hope they make the play-in.

Quite excited for this holy week as Marianne will stay over at our home at Batangas. We still haven't figured out the things we'll do there but her being there is fun enough.

Just two and a half days of work this week. Let's go.

Yeah, really not much to talk about this week.

Boss was out of the country for a week, so work was chill.

Jolina finally met Marianne last night which was great.

I also reached blue ranks this week at Tekken.

Sengun got injured and ended his season, but luckily avoided a major knee injury. Despite that, Rockets are on a 5 game winning streak. Hoping they could still make the play-in.

Left

I just had this weird thought that I just feel like I'm being left out by people around me. Well, literally that turned into figuratively and what not.

This week, one of my coworkers went to Thailand for a summit. Then next week, another on of my coworkers will be going to South Korea for a short vacation.

Daj then messaged me asking me if I would want to go to Korea with him this coming October. He has his plans going to South Korea anyways long before.

It just made me think how reluctant (or averse?) about travelling. It probably stems from me being frugal. Since my position at work is not yet permanent, I do not have the luxury of having paid leaves. Every time I think of having vacation at work, what comes to mind is the amount of money I'm losing per that day. Not to mention the fact that travel would entail me breaking my routine, which me being a routine person, is quite a hassle. I mean I can break my routine, it's not like I would die or have a mental breakdown. I think I'm just not as impulsive about travelling as other of my friends are.

Sometimes I think something is wrong with me when I don't get that excited on the thought of travelling. Or sometimes, I just think that I would've enjoyed the thought of it if I was not a broke ass bitch boy. To be honest though, I know that I'm not broke, but I just really like saving money at this point in my life.

Yeah, this was just a nonsense rant lmao

Quite frustrated for today since I lost my promo match going to blue ranks at Tekken. I then proceeded to lose a lot of points which almost culminated in me being demoted. At least I got to stack up some points just a while ago. Man, I really choked that game.

Our boss will be at Malaysia this upcoming work week so that's nice.
