“We come spinning out of nothingness, scattering stars.  The stars form a circle, and in the center we dance.”

Our fantastic friend & photographer Teri Simpson captured this footage of us performing with Love & Light last Friday!  We are so incredibly thankful to have had the opportunity to perform with artists who we have been musically inspired by since the beginning of our hoop journeys.  Filled to the brim with gratitude for this crazy hoop life!

We are bursting at the seams with excitement to share our first official Kaleida Kinetic demo video! It has been an absolute labor of love, and we couldn’t have done it without the hard work & creativity of Collin Warrick Photos & Production. Special thanks goes to The Vault Social Club, EWU Theatre Department, and our amazing costumer Jean Richmond. It has been less than a year since we began our journey as a hoop duo, and we are floored by the love & support we have received at every step along the way. Thank you all so much for believing in the dream of Kaleida Kinetic. We look forward to bringing many more cosmic and kaleidoscopic creations to the world!

Introducing the official logo for Kaleida Kinetic!  Dally & I feel that this logo properly represents the kaleidoscopic, creative collaboration that is Kaleida Kinetic and we couldn’t be happier. Thank you to Gianna Morrill of Kuriio for bringing this beautiful concept to life.  Stay tuned for our bombastic demo video to be released in the coming week!

Eric Hernandez, the amazing hoop dancer that is currently featured in the Cirque de Soleil show Totem, shares his love of hoop dance in this segment for American Latino TV. Eric, who is half Latino and half Native American says, “I’m in love with hoop dancing because it gives me the opportunity to share my culture, my Native American side.” His interest in this unique dance ceremony began at the age of 10 when he watched his uncle perform it. Now, years later, Eric is able to share this traditional dance with thousands every single night. He lives in Los Angeles, California, USA.

In this tutorial, Caitlin “Isopuppy” Hofer, our2013 Newbie Hooper of the Year Award Winner, is here to teach us how to perfectly execute the two-handed horizontal cateye hoop isolation. She says, “The power is in the right hand, while your left hand is simply ghosting.” In other words, it is pretending to control the hoop, while it is actually just gliding along the hoop in a loose grip. She can be found hooping it up in scenic Santa Cruz, California, USA. This is such a beautiful isolation move. How many of you will be giving this a try this week to work into your flow?
