I get so anxious plotting with new people. If we haven’t been friends for ages my bpd makes it so impossibly hard to make new friendships bc I’m constantly scared ppl are gonna decide I suck and ditch me so I’m constantly holding ppl at arms length and I’m rlly sorry for that. the thing is. aging up a character for plot reasons is fun. it is fun to explore a character as they age. as they transition from a mentee to a mentor. as they grow & turn into people who learn & become a better version of their selves. however, i have found time & time again that i cannot trust people to do that. i cannot support it because it has comes to a point where it’s just an excuse to sexualize minors. & it’s gross. because you have these characters that you’ve “aged up” & you have them saying sexually explicit things & it’s the same baby faced character in your icons. this isn’t directed towards anyone i follow — but i’m just. really tired. being on here is tiring. whenever i come on it’s always something. & i don’t know how else to curate my space. thank you for putting up with me lately — i know i haven’t written much but it’s just. it is exhausting.

ok i've done a pretty thorough overhaul of the layout of my muse pages and i think i'm finally at something i like looking at. the info isn't completely up to date, but at least i'm making progress.

the force with which she jabs her finger into her chest may have caused her to wince if her mind wasn't completely preoccupied with keeping her elation in check. there is a pause after, her finger curling slightly as doubt creeps in, eyes sweeping their surroundings as if expecting someone else to be just behind her. no one. just her. and her finger extends again, head cocking to the side to emphasize the question - me? you mean ME? her smile? her infectious, sometimes to the point of nausea, smile? no...

[ why? ] her movements are slow, the way she used to sign when he was still learning, the only method she has of ensuring the clarity of her words. [ it's not... anything special. ] not like his. or his brother's. or her own brother's. small, timid, and weak. something so rare she can count on one hand how many people have seen it. and the number of people who can tolerate seeing it - an even smaller number. but he IS among them.

[ i like yours better. ] ironically, the faintest hint of a smile finds her lips as she signs the words, [ it's big. and bright. the kind of smile that a hero ought to have. you know, the kind of smile that makes you feel safe. it makes me feel safe. ]

miya's quirk - aptly named projection - can be thought of reverse or forced empathy. essentially, she projects her emotions onto people and the strength of said projection varies from a mild feeling to so overwhelming it can cause physical disruption in the other person's body (think how your body reacts when feeling extreme sadness, anger, ect but on steroids). typically, the strength of the projection is managed by miya's own control over her emotions, though exposure to her quirk can lessen the impact it has.

because of this, miyako has spent the majority of her life keeping her feelings extremely muted and she has a hard time opening up to people. even now, with a lot more practice with controlling herself, she's afraid of losing control and causing harm to the people around her (even if said harm isn't permanent).
