Character design is one of the most misunderstood fields in animation. I see schools teaching character design as flat turnarounds that are stiff as a board. The primary goal for a character designer is to come up with shapes and proportions that are animatable. How can they possibly do that without being an animator themselves? Design is not a separate discipline… it is an integral part of the whole process. The films of Tex Avery had characters that were deceptively simple, but they were flexible and allowed for a wide range of posing. Today, we are sharing a large collection of Tex Avery model sheets on our site. Make sure to CLICK and check them out… https://animationresources.org/inbetweens-tex-avery-model-sheets/
