creek is actually a very good cook, floyd just didnt like to admit it. hes had, ah... lets say practice

and guy loves a man who can cook 😋 he himself cannot, he is part of the current older zoomer boom who think its normal to not be able to make anything more complicated than microwave ramen and lives almost exclusively off just eat (poor tiny)

how would you rank brozone from favourite to least favourite? we know floyd is 1 and jd is 5 but what about in between?

thats really really hard to answer bc im not sure where branch stands compared to his brothers... like hes the protagonist, ykwim? hes in an entirely different category, apples and oranges. so, not counting branch:

ngl the only good jd fic i've read was a barb/jd and it was smut. even the headcanons and imagines are very......apologist?? i guess is the word?? i like venting about jd here and in alex's confession blog bc more often than not it feels like people there are the only ones with eyes and media literacy to analyze his character

its very validating being one of only a handful of adults that seem to understand a movie with a target audience of 9 y/os and their parents

MEEEE. I used to love JD. I know you shouldn't let the fandom affect how you feel about a character but seeing how the fandom treats JD as some redeemable character that does no wrong, who has unspeakable trauma when in canon I haven't seen him apologize to any of his brothers yet. Just makes me...idk HATE JD now

its kind of similar with creek, where people will bend over backwards to paint them as completely innocent and doing nothing wrong and deserving so much better (usually while throwing someone else under the bus) but jd is... moreso. bc the movies newer, and hes fresher in everyones memories, so while creek apologists are still very dedicated they are much fewer than the jd apologists

also... well. jd hits a lot closer to home

I would say me too to the fanfic where JD is an asshole and faces consequences but no matter how much I say I like angst, no matter how much I like to make bad characters suffer, I still feel...sad for them?. My guts wrench. I can't handle it. I may not cry for them but man, does my heart just twist.

yeah thats what fiction is supposed to do. make you feel emotions. its a good thing

id kill to read a fic where jd is characterized as the same selfish asshole he is in canon and where its explicitly stated that none of his brothers forgive him, especially bruce and clay. i want him to face more consequences for his actions then just "getting a lil sad that poppy called him old" or "dissappinted clay and bruce wouldn't give him a hug :("

Wait people demonize Grandma Rosiepuff? I mean I know it was revealed that she was a gambler but ??? She quite literally sacrificed her life to save baby Branch from getting eaten by a burgen. I don't know what else you want her to do. She can't exactly force all 4 of her grandbabies to stay when they all want to leave.

people demonise grandma rosiepuff bc they are fans of jd, bc they like his silly antics and the fact hes voiced by eric andre. but jd is like, objectively an asshole (putting it lightly) in the movie, and some people are physically incapable of engaging with a character who is not completely ideologically pure, bc that means they are condoning its actions. so what do they do, when they REALLY want to like eric andre troll? they ignore his flaws. they dont acknowledge the strict workout routine he put bruce under, or the fact he had clay do photoshoots in his underwear, but for the stuff they cant possibly ignore? they blame someone else. they make grandma rosiepuff the scapegoat, and claim she abused him, or that she was a gambling addict who never took care of the brothers so jd was "parentified". none of this has ANY basis in canon, people simply made it up, and it became popular fanon that grandma was abusive bc it means they can treat jd as their precious little baby who did nothing wrong

and as we all know, if a female character doesnt have any flaws that fandom can blow out of proportion to justify hating her, they will just invent some
