goodnight n go (Kaminari x Reader)
Title: goodnight n go Ship: Kaminari x Destroying Quirk!Reader Word Count: 1093 A/N: if you can, listen to ariana grande’s goodnight n go while reading this! i listened to it maybe 20 times last night while writing this :) i’m really proud of this fic and it’s one of my favorites that i’ve written now! / also find the innuendo i added one hehe
Your nose is filled with the scent of fresh rain and lightning. Somehow, without a fail, Kaminari always smells like this. To you, it’s another scent that is home to you, just like curry and udon. Denki always comes to your dorm before a date and changes the scent of your room.
He’s the worst. He makes a mess of your vanity after fixing his hair and then ruffling it again. He digs into your snack stash and steals some of your hair ties. (”For the girls, just in case,” he says with a wink.) He is an expanse of light in your simple room and when he leaves, everything turns back to dust.
“I can’t believe you’re going on another date, Denki,” you mutter under your breath, but are you surprised that he still heard you? No. You’ve been friends since the first day of elementary school when everyone was scared of the young boy whose Quirk just came out.
“Why won’t anyone come near me?” Young Kaminari clutched his hero doll in his soft hand. He thought it was normal to send electric zaps to other people. His parents often played with him with their zaps. What is the difference with playtime at school?
“I’ll play with you.” You’ve always been the type to make sure everyone is okay, even as a five-year-old. He pressed his finger to yours and you felt the electricity flow from him to you. In return, you accidentally broke his doll when you touched it.
“Why not? You’ll never go on a date with me, so I have to settle for other girls.” The blond pouts as he squeezes your body in a side hug. You settle in the chair accompanying the desk, while he sinks into your bed. He says he’s followed you from elementary, to middle, and now, to high school, but you believe it’s the other way around. You’ve always been drawn to the light.
“So why do you keep messing around with girls in our class? You’ve already been on a date with each of them. Somehow, Hagakure still put on makeup for her date, even though you can’t see her.” You scratch your head in reminisce.
Kaminari sports a smug smile and wags a finger at you. “That’s why I’ve started to move onto Class 1-B!” He looks down at his watch. “I guess it’s time to go. Wish me luck!”
“You won’t need it” is what you usually say, but today doesn’t feel right, so “see you later” is what you settle for instead.
After he silently questions your deviation from routine, Denki slips into the night, leaving you in his wake. The things you’d do to keep the room smelling like this, as opposed to artificial sugar from the gummy bears you eat. You bury your face into the comfort of your bed because at least you’ll feel this instead of your heart.
Kaminari always returns after a date, so today is no exception. Nobody really locks their door in the hallways, but even so, he is the only person who visits your dorm this late at night. He’s the only crazy enough one to come this late because with all of the midnight cravings, your destroying quirk feels like it gets more impactful with fatigue. Class 1-A learned its lesson when everyone camped out on the first floor the weekend you moved in. You hurt everyone’s feelings by turning one of Koda’s stuffed animals to dust. You believed it was one of Bakugou’s “workout” magazines, but clearly, something got in the way of the sale.
“I’m sorry, Koda! I didn’t mean to!” You apologized. You were so tired from moving your things in that you didn’t notice what you held in your hands.
“I-It’s okay, (Y/N),” he stammered but there was no doubt tears threatened to release.
You snuck back into your bedroom while everyone else partied to celebrate living together. Since then, you’ve been cautious to the point where people said you’ve been holding back everywhere except training. It’s absurd, but it’s for everyone else’s safety. You grip your sheets in frustration. You had to be careful, you had to pretend you didn’t have feelings for your best friend, and above all, you had to become someone you’re not.
Denki is hurricane to your peace as he flops on your bed next to you.
“This bed isn’t big enough for both of us.” You can’t help but to grin, but remembering where he just came from, your smile falls.
“What’s wrong?” He sits up, his hair pressing against your pillows. You turn on your side, facing the wall. “(Y/N), you’ve been avoiding everyone lately. Tell me why.”
Why does he have to look at you in such earnest gaze? You never know what he’s trying to say. Why does he have to be so cute? It’s impossible to ignore him anymore.
When you begin speaking, you bore holes into the wall with your eyes. How has he been friends with you for this long? “I break everything around me. Don’t you think I’ll break you soon?”
“What are you even talking about—”
“I break my heart more than anything.”
Denki scrunches his eyebrows. “(Y/N)?”
“You tell me you go out on dates because I won’t go out with you. You flirt with me, but you also flirt with the other girls in our class. You look at me, and I don’t know what you mean. God, I don’t know how I like you so much, and I want to ignore you but I can’t. We’re best friends. I just want you to say goodnight and go and leave me in my feels.” At this point, you stop talking because you’re about to cry. You’ve never truly expressed your feelings to anyone except your notebook.
The first thing he does is wrap you up in his arms and just hold you there. No words are exchanged, but you feel the same electricity you did back in elementary school, and in middle school, and now in high school.
Denki squeezes tighter and presses his lips to the crown of your hair. “I’m never going to leave you alone. You can break me all you want. Hell, break me into a thousand pieces. You can do whatever you want with me.” You press your nose into his chest when you shift your body, his scent filling your senses. You can stay like this forever, with your body on his and the world surrounding you with abounding life.

todoroki and "im the one i should love in this world"
thank u sora baby ily!!!
Everyday is a reminder of what the past has brought him because he’ll pass by the mirror ever so often, or his face will twitch for a second and he’ll touch the side of his face gingerly. There’s no malice towards anyone, or at least he can’t hold it to anyone. At some point, he hopes that he’ll learn how to love himself and all the baggage he brings because he’s the one who should love in this world.

my first fic on my other account! i hope you read and enjoy!
Tumblr media
QUARANTINE — ATSUMU MIYA
Tumblr media
— WELL, you definitely couldn’t have expected this to happen when the world shut down. Now, how exactly does your friendship with Atsumu flourish during this time of isolation?
— Songs used:
I Really Like You by Carly Rae Jepsen
34+35 by Ariana Grande
— Word Count: 1.7k — Genre: Fluff — Pairing: Atsumu Miya x (Female) Reader — TW: Slight NSFW mention at the end
— note: pls i just want someone to appreciate the 34+35 joke at the end
Tumblr media
Honestly, you look back at it now and you still can’t figure out how you and Atsumu became quarantine texting buddies. You’ve never actually really been friends, rather just classmates, and you can count the amount of times you’ve had a conversation with him on one hand. The circles you kept barely overlapped with Atsumu, except for classes, so it was more than shocking when the two of you just started talking at the beginning of quarantine.
You guess that the starting point could have been him commenting on a photo you posted on social media during the first few days of homebound life, genuinely inquiring about the subject of your photo. Then, it spiraled from there, as you transferred questions back and forth. For once, you got to know the person behind the pretty face you always saw when you planned to reprimand him in class. (Of course you could never actually yell at Atsumu for his educational antics; like you described, he’s pretty.)
Soon enough, he was bold to ask if you wanted to video call, and just that was almost too much to handle. Atsumu was oblivious to this and you picked up his call without thinking, and you couldn’t back down from there.
Three weeks into quarantine, and he said, “I can’t believe I’ve never really talked to you before, (Y/N)). You’re such a good friend now.” The smile that spread across his face was one you got to know very well, through all of the random conversations and jokes you’ve passed.
“You’re only saying that because we have school online and you can’t talk to all of the other girls after your practices,” you said, but you still blushed. You shut off your camera for a second and although he complains, you retort, “It’s for your own good, my face is a tomato right now.”
“And ya know, I think tomatoes are cute.”

Doing Better (Bakugo x Reader)
Title: Doing Better Ship: Aged Up!Bakugo x F!Reader Summary: Rule number one after breaking up: Be the first person to be doing better or you suffer the feeling of never ending unrequited love. TW: cursing
Let the record show that Katsuki let go first, not you. You were willing to make everything work if he wanted to stay with you. For a few months, you had known everything felt rocky underneath your feet. From the constant arguments to the sleeping on the couch, you decided enough is enough. Why stay in a place if you’re not welcome?
You had one last test for Bakugo, to see if he actually loved you. After deliberating with your best girlfriends — Mina and Momo, of course — you pulled off this plan: you asked him out to dinner. You wanted to see if the connection you felt before was still there.
Well, dinner came. You don’t choose a fancy place, but it is a sit-down dinner and you try to make yourself presentable. Katsuki, on the other hand, is in a ratty shirt and just-enough slacks. You’re embarrassed that this dinner is as much of a disaster as you wish it wasn’t. He picks a bone with the innocent server and he rolls his eyes after you tried to tell him that was rude.
After the plates are served, the server apologizes for himself and honestly, you don’t know why he’s apologizing for just trying to do his job. On the other hand, your boyfriend can’t let it go. “So what? That kid probably doesn’t know how to take an order, even if his life depended on it. He sucked, do you want me to give him a lollipop and a frickin’ pacifier?” Katsuki’s cheek raises when he gives you a stink eye.
“Katsuki, he’s a kid. This is probably his first job. Leave him be.” You huff and bite your lip. Is this really where you’re going to abandon everything you’ve built for two years now? “You’re being mean for no reason.”
“Hey, this kid needs to know that life isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, like you want it to be, (Y/N).”
“What are you saying, Katsuki?” You put down the fork you were playing with and purse your lips. “Are you saying I’m an idealist? Is it so wrong for me to want to be kind to others, no matter who?” The edge to your voice rivals a sharp sword.
“I’m just sayin’…” It looks like he wants to say more, but he shovels rice into his mouth. “This kid’s really not gonna make it if—”
“Can we just eat? Our food’s going to get cold if you keep talking about this.”
“Okay, whatever.” In the restaurant, you can hear everyone else speaking, but at this table, no words are exchanged. Usually, you’d break in between to share dishes or talk about work, but if Katsuki won’t say anything, you won’t either.
After you finish eating, he pays for the bill and you walk out together.
“I don’t think we’re working out anymore.” The chilly night is parallel to his cold nature. You clutch your jacket tighter against you and by the looks of the shadows on his face, he’s not joking.

Haikyuu Boys and Dating Apps
(uh huh… well this is a total shitpost so LOL have fun with this; i started writing this at 2AM, and then it just kept going…)
obviously I didn’t use all of the teams, but these are just a few headcanons I have and this is just how I see the boys. you might view them totally different, and that’s fine!
Haikyuu boys that are most likely to use a dating app:
Daichi - he has given up on irl dating when half of the boys on the volleyball team thinks he’s dating Suga and another quarter thinks he’s dating Michimiya. the other quarter thinks he’s bound to be a bachelor for the rest of his life. (well… with the route he’s on in the timeskip… my guy Daichi may never get anyone at that point… acab…)
Oikawa - come on!!!! Oikawa is definitely on a dating app from the moment he’s of legal age. (That is if he didn’t make a profile with a fake birthday just to see what it’s like.) he’s honestly just swiping all the time, letting other people swipe and respond for him. It’s just a fun game. He actually does go out on some Tinder or Hinge dates from time to time, and he always knows how to make sure his date has a GREAT time.
Atsumu - usually uses it for hookups. He has zero expectations for those apps, but he just uses them to use them. (He’s lowkey the worst person to match with because he won’t respond right away and just when you think he won’t ever respond, he brings you back. Plus he’ll ghost you hardcore when he’s bored. don’t take it personal?)
Osamu - yup, the other twin is on those apps too, and he’s so lucky he hasn’t found Atsumu on them. he’s seriously focused on the restaurant, but that also means he doesn’t go out often. He’s a total gem amongst the other people on the apps because he can wine and dine, and maybe do some other stuff too. But he doesn’t expect much out of his experience, so he’s a little picky about who he meets in person. (As everyone should be when they’re planning to meet people in person for the first time!!! you have to be very cautious!!!!)
Terushima - okay, yes he loves using Tinder and whatever apps that are out there! but he likes to see what kind of personalities he reels in. He knows he’s good looking, but he’s also a little bit of a geek. He actually takes dating apps seriously so he’s totally trying to gauge everyone’s personality. He’s totally the type to meet up with anyone and everyone because he tries to find the good in everyone and doesn’t expect any negative actions.
Boys that were signed up for the app by someone else:
Kageyama - during his third year, there was a Karasuno boys’ volleyball sleepover and everyone was there, save for the managers, the coach, and the advisor. That being said, both Kageyama (planning to do some solo practice) and Tsukishima (wouldn’t be caught dead at an activity outside of mandated practice) did not plan to be there and had to be dragged. Hinata brought up the fact that Kageyama was of age to go on dating apps, and the rest is history. Kageyama only “uses” it when Hinata looks at the app periodically and tells Kageyama he has so many matches. Kageyama doesn’t understand what that means because he only knows the word match as a volleyball game.
Tanaka - Nishinoya was surprised Tanaka didn’t already have any apps on his phone! (Tanaka has probably thought about it, but of course, it’s not his priority because he’d rather be chasing Kiyoko.) Being the great best friend he is, Nishinoya created Tanaka some profiles and swiped through for some best friend-vetted matches. He doesn’t actually go to meet up with any of the people he matches up with because he’s actually a little shy, but he’s definitely down to message people and have some ~good~ conversations.
Kuroo - you already know Bokuto created his profile for him! He definitely uses crappy science pick-up lines, but hey, it works every time. Does he mind that he’s carrying every conversation on his back? A little bit. Does he care? Not really. Does he find his true love on a dating app? Nope, but he does get a fair amount of game.
Boys who swear off dating apps and promise to NEVER use them:
Akaashi - sorry, you’ll never see my boy Akaashi on one of these apps ever! He’s really adamant on trying to find someone in person, whoever that may be, because he wants a more genuine and homegrown relationship. He doesn’t really believe that romantic relationships online can be as genuine as ones created in person…
Tsukishima - sure, he’s on his phone listening to music, but that’s because it’s for his benefit. He most likely will never use a dating app because it actually takes much more work than it would in person. (Okay, but really, who is this man meeting IRL that makes it so easy?) Plus, he doesn’t want to make a whole profile. He’ll either be a bachelor, or someone will convince him to fall in love with them, but it won’t be online.
Iwaizumi - he already deals with Oikawa; how much more difficult and possibly irritating would it be to try to meet people online? No offense, but he’s not trying to work harder for the chance at a mismatched love. For basically all of his life, he’s been paired up with Oikawa and he finds that friendships grow most naturally when you can actually see them. So don’t bet on you trying to find him online, but maybe you found someone who’s using his photos? Watch out for the catfishes.

Spin the Bottle (Iwaizumi x Reader)
hello! this is my submission for the HQWN’s summer fic exchange! this fic is for sabrina, @iwaqchan ! sabrina, i hope you enjoy this! i tried to combine spin the bottle and 7 minutes in heaven to make it ~extra~ cliché!
summary: Was it painfully obvious that Iwaizumi has a crush on you, or is it just common knowledge amongst the third years on Seijoh’s boys’ volleyball team? Either way, you’re going into a closet with him and he’ll see if he’ll act on his feelings. tw: cursing, alcohol word count: 2130
“Holy, now this is a party! Oikawa, did you organize this? I bet you did,” Hanamaki smirks when he enters the basement of Oikawa’s house, as if the location wasn’t already indication enough of the owner. The parents are away, the juice has been acquired, and everyone’s here. Seeing everyone so casual stirs something in Iwaizumi’s heart and a small grin curls on his lips as he sips from his cup. It won’t be long until this get-together gets rowdy, so he’ll be enjoying the somewhat tranquil nature while he has it.
Iwaizumi leans against the wall and his first instinct when he sees you is to stick his tongue out at you in between drinking. “Hey.” You go in for a hug because you’ve been friends long enough, but Iwaizumi doesn’t see you that way. He lingers in your touch before pulling away. “Good to see you, thought you were going to ditch?”
“Like I’d miss Oikawa drunk off his ass for a night. Believe me, I’d switch around any plans for this party.” You laugh. “I mean, we just graduated, of course I want to party with my friends.”
Iwaizumi twirls the air with his finger. “You’d consider us all friends?”
“Dumby.” You punctuate your sentence by shoving his shoulder. “Yes, of course I consider us all friends. I wouldn’t have gotten through high school if it weren’t for this friend group. This really large friend group, now that I’m thinking about it.”
“You can blame Oikawa for that.” For as long as Oikawa has lived and breathed, he has never not gathered people together. It’s one of his redeeming qualities, not that Iwaizumi could count that many. Oikawa’s found his place in many groups and he’s never upset when he’s cut out because he can always return to the volleyball team. He always has a home there, and so does Iwaizumi. Oikawa is a cool guy at times.
“He’s a funny person, that’s for sure.” You laugh to yourself. “Are we starting something? Oikawa seems to be running all over the place trying to rearrange things.”
“I try to not look at him.” Iwaizumi chugs the rest of his drink. “Hey, do you need another drink? Or a drink in general?” He asks after noticing your hands are empty.
“I’ll just come with you.” You both grab your drinks with light banter flowing between the two of you, and Iwaizumi can’t get this small smile off of his face. You’re just so funny, and so wonderful. Being drunk with you is wonderful.

Love on His Own Terms (Iwaizumi x Reader)
Title: Love on His Own Terms Ship: Iwaizumi x Reader Word Count: 438 Summary: He doesn’t need to be in love, but that’s all the world cares about. A/N: Another non-request! I thought this would be good with Iwaizumi! This is a post-HS AU where Iwaizumi becomes a pro volleyball player! Sorry it is short, but I had nothing else to write for this.
“So, Iwaizumi-san, have you ever fallen in love?” The reporter whose name he already forgot poses a question that forces him to ponder. She nearly shoves her microphone into his face as she crosses her legs at her knee and leans forward. Iwaizumi leans into the back of his hair and tilts his chin upward. Not so subtle on the flirting tactics was she. The league is starting a new season soon, so one of the suggestions—but everyone is truly expected to follow—is to sit down every player of each team and to interview them. How they are interviewed is up to the discretion of the reporter, and unfortunately, Iwaizumi’s reporter is not exactly focused on the reason why they congregated here.
These lights in his face make it hard for him to even see this person sitting in front of him. This stiff air makes his chest feel funny, but he knows he can’t cough because that would be extra work on the editors. The mild fidgeting is something he wants to fix for the next interview, but he hopes the next interviewer isn’t a fan girl dressed in sheep’s clothing. This chair that he’s in makes him want to fall over from how small the base is; he can barely fit in it. He fidgets ever so slightly and purses his lips together.
Now that he thinks about it, the closest thing he has gotten to love is Oikawa bothering him at four in the morning to watch the sunrise together. He would also say that another close feeling to “love” would be the nonwithholding satisfaction of scoring the last point of the game, seeing his teammates flood the court, all due to his work and effort. He doesn’t want to count the hugs and kisses he’s received from his mom and the handshakes from his dad. Those are in a category of their own. Iwaizumi knows what kind of love this reporter is seeking and it’s something he hasn’t experienced since high school.
It was only last year when Iwaizumi committed to playing as a professional volleyball player. He was more than stoked to play the game on courts in stadiums with thousands of fans who come to watch his team demolish. Screaming in his peripheral hearing and his direct sense only gets the blood pumping even more. His heart need not the horror movies he watches to get his adrenaline moving, not when he’s on the court. Not when he’s guided into the air with pure athleticism and logic.
“No, I don’t think so,” Iwaizumi finally concludes. “I’ll find it on my own terms.”

headcanons for Neighbors AU with Kenma?
the way i took this reminded me of the webtoon let’s play!!
After you graduated from college, you decided to move to your dream location: Tokyo. You’ve always loved the hustle and bustle of the city and all of the opportunities it could provide you, no matter what line of work you planned to go into.
You move into an apartment in a lesser expensive district, since you are a fresh graduate with some debt. You would rather not dig yourself into a deeper hole of loss.
First day in the building, carrying all of the boxes by yourself up four flights of stairs — no biggie right? Totally not what you expected, but what you should have expected. Seems like people really keep to themselves.
You’re very excited to work in the city and while the transition is smooth, you still haven’t made any friends outside of work and your work friends are on there by just a light tether.
You introduce yourself to the neighbors flanking you on either side and across the hall. The people to your right are a couple probably a few years older than you, a family lives across from you, and the last person opens up his door and he’s a bit of a mess.
“Hi, I’m (Y/N) (L/N). I just moved in a week ago and I wanted to introduce myself.” You offer the baked goods that you’ve given to each of the groups you’ve met.
“I’m Kenma Kozume.” To your surprise, he leads you into his apartment, but even more of a surprise, it isn’t as messy as you believe it would be. His items are nicely tucked into their rightful places and he doesn’t have much furniture in this area of his apartment. “Shouldn’t I be the one to offer you a gift?”
“It’s no big deal. I gave stuff to the other neighbors too.”
It seems like he hasn’t heard you because he’s digging in his refrigerator. “I think I have some beer in here if you want to stay.” Well, you’re not going to turn that down.
Kenma is your first friend outside of work. You hear him at ungodly hours streaming through the walls and when you leave for the morning commute, you’re sure he’s sleeping. Eventually, you arrange to have dinner together on some nights and he starts opening up to you. He’s a lot more than his dyed hair and cat-like eyes.
You never really expected anything out of your neighbors, so this is the best thing that could have ever happened to you. You meet his friends and soon, you’re a little group and you’ve made some wonderful relationships with the other boys like Kuroo, Yaku, and Bokuto.
And you may or may not have cracked Kenma’s surface to get to his heart.

Helloo! 👋🏻 Can I request hcs of Tsukki, Kuroo, and Akaashi’s reaction to where the reader is their bff and they did the ‘kissing my bestfriend’ tiktok challenge 🥺 like what would the outcome be, will it be awkward or sweet hehe THANK YOUUU 😁❤️
somehow made this really long but it’s ok bc they’re cuties (i might use the akaashi hcs to make a full one-shot hehe, i like how i imagined it!)
Tsukishima Kei
Of all the boys you were friends with, you become the closest with Tsukishima. He’s not as bad as people say he is.
You thought he was pretty cool and a great friend, up until he brushes your shoulder by accident. Your brain goes blank and your next thought is oh, no.
You may or may not have a crush on him from that moment after, and you don’t know how to react, because that’s your best friend! It’s an unspoken rule that you should most definitely not have a crush on your best friend.
You tiptoe around everything very lightly, not knowing how he would react if you told him so suddenly, so when you see a trend on TikTok where girls are kissing their best friends, you think, Great! I can do that with Tsukki.
Well, you are confident for two seconds up until you realize that’s a crazy idea, but you do it anyway because what do you have to lose? Only your best friend.
You decide to do it when you’re hanging out with him one-on-one. Your heart is beating so hard, you’re afraid that he can hear it from where he sits next to you on the couch.
You’re watching a show with him and he looks really concentrated. When you tap him, he doesn’t move his head and instead asks, “What?”
It’s now or nothing. You push his chin toward you with a finger and press your lips against his, and he immediately responds and kisses you back.
You pull away with your eyes wider than saucers. Before you can say anything else, he pulls you in for a second kiss and more and more. You’re almost full-on making out at this point, so you pull away again.
“Kei, what are you doing?”
“I knew you liked me already.”
“Do you like me back then?”
“I was just waiting for you to make a move. We don’t have to talk about it if we know what we want already.” He speaks so nonchalantly and you roll your eyes. You can’t believe that you just had a make out session — with your best friend, nonetheless — and he won’t tell you how he feels.
“That’s exactly why we have to talk about it.”
“Fine,” he says, sounding exasperated. “Will you be my girlfriend?”
Kuroo Tetsurou
Kuroo’s usually really great at picking things up, but you suppose not when it comes to romantic feelings.
He’s had his fair share of significant others, and those people became significant others because he confessed to them and not the other way around.
In fact, you’ve been there when he wanted advice on these people, asking you if he’d stand a chance, how you think they would respond.
Did he never consider you as a viable option? You could never tell because he’s always mouthing off about some other person and how great they are. It’s a little frustrating, but nothing you’re not used to, right?
He likes to take you out often though, even if he’s in a relationship. (He did complain that a few of his significant others said you were too close to him for their comfort.)
However, this time around, there is no person latching onto his arm. You make sure that he’s completely healed from his last relationship, even if it only lasted a month.
You’re winding down after a dinner with him and you keep thanking him for paying for your meal, which you could have paid for yourself. He’s a gentleman through and through.
You make sure to set up your phone where it has the wide view of the front seats of Kuroo’s car, but he doesn’t really suspect anything else.
“So, yeah, I think Kenma was pretty surprised about it, but I told him not to worry. It’s just a game, but not to him obviously. It’s fun to play, it’s hard and I like trying to beat the other people too. I think Kenma’s rubbing off on me.”
You try to listen to what he says, but all you can think about is how you want to kiss him, and so you take his jaw into your hands and press your lips to his for a second.
Kuroo pulls back really quickly, and the second he does, apologies come flowing out of your mouth.
“I’m really sorry, I didn’t know how you would respond, so I just wanted to go for it. I really like you and I’m pretty sure you don’t like me the same way and — are you okay, Tetsu?”
He’s actually speechless and this hardly happens because he always has something to say, but even when he tries to think of something, nothing comes to mind. His silence doesn’t fit him but he just doesn’t know how to react.
“I just don’t know what to say. I didn’t expect you to like me.”
Akaashi Keiji
Keiji has been your best friend since childhood. When you were visibly upset on the playground, only one person helped you and it was a small boy with blue eyes.
He’s been with you ever since then and he’s seen you through all of your changes, and you’ve seen his too. You saw him when he first began adoring onigiri, and you saw him when he formed his habit of playing with his fingers.
The fact that you’ve been friends for nearly ten years scares you half to death when you realize you have started to see him in a different life — in a romantic light.
At first, you can’t tell if it’s just a fluke and you’re maybe seeing him in an attractive way because you saw him shirtless recently, but it turns out that it was only the beginning.
Now, any time you think, your brain brings you back to Akaashi. When you go to the supermarket, you think of him when his favorite snacks are in the aisle. In class, when he sits next to you, you think how soft his hands must be to hold.
Eventually, you can’t handle not saying anything. It hurts to not know, so you make a plan to confess with your actions instead of your words.
It’s a Saturday night and the Fukurodani boys are over for a movie night. On the inside, you’re grumbling because while you enjoy Bokuto and Konoha’s antics, you initially asked Akaashi to come over but then the rest of the boys invited themselves. You cross your arms while you sit next to Akaashi and everyone else fills in the couch or sits on the floor.
After one movie, the rest of the team shows themselves out, for whatever reason it is. The next movie begins playing and it’s just hard to focus because this is the perfect opportunity. You set up your camera as if you just left it there by accident and you make your move.
Akaashi is watching the movie intently so you push your worries to the side and climb into his lap. You steady yourself by putting your hands on his shoulders. You can’t take back this moment. You’re already bold, you might as well hit a home run while you’re at it.
To your surprise, he kisses you first. You kiss for about a minute, but it feels so much longer.
One look into his eyes has you scrambling out of his lap and crunching yourself into a ball. Akaashi doesn’t say anything about you leaving his presence.
“I’ve always liked you, (Y/N). I didn’t know you felt that way about me too.” He’s rubbing the back of his neck, but it doesn’t appear to be out of embarrassment. In fact, his sharp gaze is hard on your eyes and you’ve seen a similar concentration when he plays volleyball.
You’re speechless. Your best friend has always had feelings for you? So you do what you can only think of doing — you kiss him again.
(Of course, later on, he makes sure he takes the time to fully express in words how he feels about you, which leads to a very long discussion of your feelings for each other.)

hello! may i request hcs of what type of person Kuroo and Akaashi would fall for?
Kuroo Tetsurou
He’d fall for someone who is dedicated to their education. He is in college prep classes and he’s got quite the course load. Somehow, he makes it all look easy but if you’re his S/O, you’d know that he barely sleeps and relies on early morning coffee dates before boarding the train for school.
He’d fall for someone who is a leader. Maybe they’re the class representative, or they’re a caring older sibling. In fact, he’s definitely a sucker for older sibling S/Os because then he can play with your younger sibling. He’ll also be silently adoring you while you help your sibling with homework or with a game.
Kuroo would fall for someone who can stand their own ground. Of course he wants to protect you, but he can’t be there sometimes, so at least he wants to know that you’ll stay strong for yourself.
If you can deal a joke, and more importantly, if you can take a joke, you’ve already got a few points in his book.
His baseline is if you can befriend Kenma, he’ll begin considering you in his mind, even if you aren’t thinking about a relationship with him yet. His friendship with Kenma is the most important and not many people are friends with Kenma, so if you’re friends with the pudding head, Kuroo already likes you to a certain extent.
Akaashi Keiji
He doesn’t mind falling in love with someone who has a polar opposite personality, in terms of bubbliness. He understands from Bokuto, so in this case, opposites do attract.
Akaashi would fall for someone who has an aptitude for intelligence. He wants to have those deeper talks with you at two in the morning, hearing your voice flow from his phone.
He would like someone who can find comfort in him. He wants to feel wanted and loved. He wants to protect you.
You have to be a kind person, no matter what. He notices people, even seemingly insignificant people. Treat your friends, family, and strangers with the same kindness and he’s hook, line, and sinker.
Akaashi doesn’t have that many guidelines, but he wants someone who has the time for a relationship. He’s not messing around, especially not with someone else’s heart. If he’s considering you, it’s because he thinks of you more than a friend and he thinks that the relationship can bloom.

A Long Night (Daichi x Reader)
Title: A Long Night Ship: Daichi x Reader, w/ a little bit of SugaKiyo Word Count: 2,887 Summary: To celebrate your college graduation, you head out to the club with your best friend, Kiyoko Shimizu. Little did you know that a little Cupid would be setting you up with his best friend. A/N: cross posted from my Wattpad! i’d love to create a second part to this eventually! also, implied nsfw, but there is none actually written!
Your eyes squint open and it feels like the world is breaking daylight. Wait a minute, the birds are chirping, the sun is out…the sun is out?!
“What the heck,” you mutter to yourself. “I guess I drank too much last night.” It was a bit of a rager last night, something resembling a party you’ve been to while you attended high school in the United States. Ever since you’ve moved back to Japan for your university years, the social scene has calmed down but after finishing your last semester ever, you needed to get lose and have some fun.
Squishing your head back into the pillow, you replay all of last night’s events, at least to the best of your ability.
“Holy hell!” You exclaim, appearing at the doorway of the newest club that popped up a month prior. It sits on the edge of the college town you reside in and since your final exams are now a thing of the past, you and your friends plan to celebrate like there is no tomorrow. “This place is huge!”
“I know right!” Shimizu-chan replies. While you and Shimizu-chan arrive together, her friends will join you at the club. You haven’t met them yet, but she assures you that they are great people considering they all graduated from the same high school. While you wear a thigh-high dress, she opts for a jumpsuit because she claims it’s more comfortable for dancing. To each their own, you suppose.
You hunt for a table, which is nearly impossible due to the fact that everyone and their extended group of friends is packed into this place. “Shimizu-chan, it’ll take forever to find a table!” You exclaim with a laugh but when you turn around, you just see a crowd on the dance floor and she’s not right behind you. The glaring strobe lights attack in every corner and are the worst when you’re just trying to find your best friend. “Shimizu-chan!” You yell into your immediate area but it’s like you’re just yelling into an abyss. There’s no use.
But hooray! A table just freed up and as a true friend, you rush toward the area before anyone else can take it. When you settle into the plush booth, you call Shimizu on your phone. “Hello? Shimizu-chan, where did you go? I turned around and you weren’t there anymore.”
“Sorry, (Y/N)-chan. My high school friends told me they arrived. I’m at the doorway right now.” Shimizu’s voice barely makes it through your speaker between the volume in your ears and in the phone. “Did you end up finding a table?”

Meant To Be (Part Two - Tadashi x Reader)
Title: Meant To Be Ship: Tadashi x Reader Word Count: 2415 Summary: Tadashi never expected himself to be at a frat party on the first night of college, and Y/N never expected herself to end up at a frat party with a boy she just met.
(accidentally messed up my post so it’s not the same summary, and i wish i remembered what it was :c)
Meant To Be - Part One here!
“This isn’t really where I expected myself to be on the night of my first day at college,” Tadashi muses as he swirls his head to take in all the sights. A frat party of all places. The multicolored lights block your vision almost completely and it’s hard to see what’s in front of you. People splay wide on each other with the cracked leather couches underneath each other, and it’s impossible to turn in one direction and not see anyone sucking face.
Your friend, Michi, told you to bring your “cutie,” when she started donning her clothing back in your dorm room. You laughed upon hearing that and turned to look at her final outfit of barely anything at that matter. Were your leggings and flannel not enough? Whatever. It didn’t matter because Michi was there to attempt to find her latest flavor and you were just strung along, and you were most definitely not going through this experience alone.
Tadashi came along on his own will and boy, you are so glad that he’s the one by your side at this very moment. “Michi needed friends to come along, but at least she told me that since we also brought our friends, Kazuo and Chihiro, we’re okay to leave if we want to.” You raise your voice but Tadashi can just barely hear you over the pounding music that flows throughout the house. No matter where in the world, you suppose the fraternities know how to throw a party.
His head leans down by your ear to say, “I can’t believe I had to pay to get in but you didn’t!” The mere centimeters between his lips and your ear make you slightly delirious and you don’t even have anything in your system yet.
Despite his efforts to make himself clearer, there’s no point. “I can’t hear you, Tadashi!”
His hand grasps your fingers as Tadashi walks to anywhere he feels like the decibels decrease. He’s quite the tall boy, but you already noticed that before. In this dark lighting, there are glimpses of freckles that adorn his neck but you can’t tell if they go down further since his corduroy jacket hugs his nape. He has a bit of a homey, but fashionable taste in clothing, you might add.
When he halts by the kitchen, he is happier that at least he can hear and see you properly, despite the sloshing of people and alcohol. After watching people throw back their heads to send the liquor down their throats, Tadashi has a better idea that makes up for him having to pay an entrance fee, even if he’s a little disturbed by the thought popping into his head. “Do you know what’s the best to drink?”
The look on his face tells you that he’s never really done anything like this before. “What if we both take shots? Just to get it over with and then take it from there.” You pull plastic cups off the counter and pour in enough of the liquor to cover the bottom of them. The potent liquid appears like water, but you know better. One of the red cups goes into his hand and Tadashi purses his lips and furrows his brows when the scent hits his nose.
“Have you tried this before? It’s going to burn our throats, won’t it?” A controlled breath pushes through his mouth. You nod with a giggle flowing out of your mouth. You haven’t even had a sip and you can feel crimson dashes coating your cheeks. What is going on, you’re never like this around, boys, girls — anyone for that matter.
“We should do it together on a count of three. At least, that way, we can’t chicken out.” The corner of your lip curls into a triumphant grin. There’s no way you’ll get this virgin out of this important event of life. Tadashi’s head bobs up and down with an affirmative strength. You bump your cup against his and count down. “Three, two, one.”
It’s more of a smoother transition from plastic to throat for you. You press your mouth against your elbow for a polite cough, not wanting your messy saliva to get all over the place. On the other hand, you keep an eye on Tadashi as he hesitates to lift the rim up to his lips. The next second, he tosses the liquid back and it sails along his tongue, searing his taste buds. He resists the urge to hack it up and onto the floor, so he forces it down, but the taste remains on the inside of his cheeks.
“So,” you poke his side with a finger as you speak. “How was it?” You ask even though his facial expression tells it all — his nose scrunches when you ask the question. It’s so obvious.
“Probably won’t be doing that again for a while.” Tadashi mutters and a laugh comes out after. A smile surfaces on your face without you even noticing. Has his cheeks always been dusted with the same freckles of his neck? Has he always shined this bright among people? How is this the first time you’ve met this boy? “I don’t think hard alcohol seems to be my cup of tea.”
“It’s okay. It’s just something to get us loose,” you mention, though you don’t want to keep shoving down liquor like everyone else in this room is. You want to remember these moments, whatever this night will bring to you. You find a liter of soda somewhere and unscrew the cap. “Maybe you’re just a sweet tooth.” You pour a bit into both of your cups and set the liter off to the side for the next person to use.
Tadashi sips from the cup without a beat to wait. He takes a minute to look all around him and you can’t really tell what he’s thinking about as he sees these girls and boys who all seem to know what they’re doing. Everyone here has an idea of what they want to be or who they want to be with, no matter their age or gender. It kind of makes you wish you were at least a little normal.
“Who goes to college without an idea of what they want to do?” Your mother sneered at you when you clicked the button that sucked away a portion of your money. “I can’t believe you’re enrolling without a single idea of what you’d want to be after that. You need to decide otherwise…” She thought of a consequence on the spot and the next words that came out her mouth pierced your heart and ripped it to shreds. “Otherwise, I won’t pay for your education. You’ll have to find a way to pay for it yourself.”
“Mom!” You pushed away from the table and stood up to meet her eyes. Her voice didn’t seem convincing but you knew that look. That look was deadly and worked every single time. There was no one to save you here, nobody to convince her otherwise. “Okay. Fine. Just give me my first year, both semesters. I’ll figure it out.”
That conversation was two months ago and on this first day of being immersed in the college atmosphere, the tightness in your chest from that day returns at this very moment. Why are you even here? In college?
“I miss my friend,” Tadashi says, breaking you out of your clouds. “He’s in school in Tokyo. He wants to study history. He’s always wanted to work in a museum, so it makes sense.” That is what was reeling in his mind as he looked at the kissing couples and the drunk students, completely different from you.
“He seems nice.” Another sip from your cup allows you to think of what to say next. What are you supposed to say next? “You know what, let’s get out of here.” You can’t take the thermal tension building within this one room. You’ll get another experience to go to a party, but you just need to get out.
“Leave?” He scratches his temple with his nail. A nervous smile dances onto his face and his tongue swipes along his bottom lip. Does he know that with the slightest effort, he can make anyone fall for him? “Are you sure, because we can stay if you want more—”
“I really don’t. I’m not as big a drinker as Michi, or really anyone.” The truth seems a little lame when you say it out loud but Tadashi lets out a sigh of relief.
“I thought you were going to say you wanted to drink more. I’m glad you’re not.”
“We can head back to my dorm, if you want. Since Michi’s staying here for a while, she’ll probably crash at Chihiro’s room.” You toss your empty cup into the plastic bag on the side of the kitchen. “We’ll be by ourselves,” you add, albeit with your cheeks glowing, either from the influx of alcohol in your system or for a separate reason.
The icy air flutters across your skins as you and Tadashi take your leave after attempting to say goodbye to Michi, Kazuo, and Chihiro. It ends up being no use because you’re sure Michi is sidling up to some guy she just met, and at some point in the evening, you’re certain Kazuo will blubber to Chihiro of the feelings he’s harbored for her since middle school. Your friends can be predictable, which is why you’re thankful for Tadashi. He’s been unexpected since you’ve met him this afternoon. You definitely could not have expected to be at a frat party with him tonight and bringing him to your dorm with no specific intentions except to free yourselves from the stuffy house.
“It’s nice outside, especially after being in there for a bit,” Tadashi does not say this to you specifically, but to the open, because when you open up your mouth to form a reply, he’s already looking straight ahead. “Oh! I forgot to ask earlier.”
“Yes?”
“Where’s your dorm? I think I might be leading us to a random place.” Tadashi rubs the back of his neck and when he exhales, you can see his breath swirling in the wind.
Oh. That’s what he was referring to, not anything else. Silly of you to think otherwise. “I live in one of the dorms close by here. I’ll just lead.”
For the next ten to fifteen minutes leading until you are standing in front of your dorm door, no words are exchanged. With the quiet steps hitting the pavement, you hope — for two seconds — that you stayed at the party, just for one more shot. The effects are already starting to wear off and not that you want to mask your feelings behind alcohol, but it would sure help.
Your fingers vibrate while you jiggle the key into the doorknob, yet you miss it the first couple of times because your fingers are shaking and it’s gotten to the point that you can’t really tell if they are shaking from the high you’re experiencing from the alcohol or the boy who is standing really close to you.
“Let me help you,” he says with a laugh. Maybe he’s not a lightweight like you. On his first try, he pushes the door open with ease.
“I’m guessing the alcohol didn’t get to you the same way it got to me,” you murmur. You think to opt for your bed, but instead you cross your legs on the carpeted floor, patting the space in front of you for him to sit.
“It’s my first time, so I don’t really know what to expect.” Tadashi crouches down and when he mimics your position, you realize that his cheeks are bright red.
“Your cheeks are as red as mine,” you giggle with delight. There’s not much to say except make small conversation, but if this is what it comes to, then you are more than happy to participate. Not just everyone meets a person like this on their first day of college, and you don’t want to let him go.
Maybe it’s the dimmed lights that are stringed around the perimeter of the dorm, or perhaps it’s how close your knees are to touching, but this only reminds Tadashi of better times. He’s already sobering up and he wants this to be one of those times he looks back on. What kind of movie is he living in?
He inches toward you and your clothed knees brush against his. The slight bit of tension that ensues is overbearing. Have you been this pretty your whole life? Tadashi’s lips press against yours. It’s just as he imagined this to be: soft and sweet, though a little tangy from the vodka. His palm cups the edge of your jaw and his fingers splay against your cheek.
Tadashi pulls away with wide eyes. “I just remembered I forgot to speak to my parents. They told me to call them when I had the chance tonight.”
He begins pulling out his phone, when you pat his hand with a smile. “You probably shouldn’t talk to them now, we’re both a little drunk.” You don’t even know how that would go down. Even though Tadashi’s more sober than you are, it might be awkward if he ever let out the truth of where he went tonight, where he is right now, and who he’s been with.
“Oh. You’re right.” Tadashi slips his phone back into his pants pocket. “Was that kiss okay? Did I read the situation wrong?” His cheeks start to flare up again like fireworks. He twiddles with his fingers in his lap, suddenly interested in how the pads from one hand touch the other.
“Tadashi, I liked it a lot.” You reach out to slip your hand into his and it surprises you that he allows it to happen. Your heart is beating against your ribcage, threatening to slip out of your body, and your pulse speeds up when his hazel eyes meet yours.
His voice comes out timid, and you can barely hear him when he asks, “So you wouldn’t mind it if I did it again?”
“I’d like it if you did it again.” His lips are slightly chapped when they’re molding with yours but you don’t mind it at all. Perhaps leaving the party after one drink is the best thing that could have happened to you.

Meant To Be (Tadashi x Reader)
Title: Meant To Be Ship: Tadashi x Reader Word Count: 1305 Summary: Tadashi thought they would be lost on campus alone forever; then Y/N came barreling around the corner. Now they’re both hopelessly lost together. Is this even the right campus?
here’s my submission for the haikyuu writers network’s april (4.20 hehe) event!! i had so much fun doing this and i also got to use the sprint feature like three or four times while writing this. not only fun, but a product of resources! hope you all enjoy, definitely a favorite of what i’ve written!
Meant To Be - Part Two here!
Tadashi’s been lost before, like at the shopping center when he was younger. His eyes brimmed with fresh tears as he looked into the sea of people. They felt so big, and he felt so small. His heart dropped to his stomach when he realized that his parents were not by his side. After looking around, he had no other choice. Reluctantly, Tadashi tugged on the sleeve of a woman working a counter. He got reunited with his mom and dad, who hugged and kissed him after apologizing for leaving him alone. Since then, he’s never been the type to be by his lonesome.
University is supposed to be his fresh start, his new chance to be different. So far, nothing has shaped up to his expectations.
“Bye, Tadashi! Talk to us on the phone when you get the chance tonight. Make some friends!” His mom waves her fingers as his parents make their parting words. The door closes and he is by his lonesome. It’s funny how he says he never wants to be alone, but here he is, the only living thing in this room. His body sinks into the freshly made bed as his thumbs twiddle over and over again. His roommate hasn’t arrived yet and he plans to ask them to go to the first-year convocation with him, but Tadashi’s thinking that it might not be a good idea. He’ll be late regardless, but he doesn’t want to go alone.
“Come on, Tadashi. Do something for yourself for once.” He kicks himself off the bed and inhales deeply. After a moment, he lets out his breath. It’s only college. He’ll meet his friends eventually. The thing he’s scared about is how long the time period between being alone and having friends will be.
It’s his first time exploring the campus with no one else. When he toured the school, he was with his class. When he came for the admitted students’ day, his parents were by his side. He never expected his first day to be like this. The campus is filled with trees that line the streets on each side. There are people donning his university’s colors and merchandise, but Tadashi wouldn’t just come up to them just to ask if they are freshmen too. He’d just have to find where he needed to go on his own.
Tadashi stares at his phone, scrolling through the endless emails to find the school’s map. He traces the surface to find his exact location. Where is it? The blood in his body rises with his frustration. Where the hell is it?

Hey can I get a one shot for Tsukishima being jealous when his girlfriends best guy friend comes to visit?
Title: An Old Friend
Ship: Tsukishima x Reader (includes Unrequited!Tenya Iida x Reader)
Word Count: 1430
A/N: thank you for this request! i began watching my hero academia, so i chose iida as the side character for this one-shot! hehe i liked writing this a lot! this was my first crossover :)
You think dinner tastes the best when Tsukishima comes over and helps your mom make it. Of course your mother’s cooking is amazing, but the fact that your boyfriend willingly stays in the kitchen and is an extra hand makes your heart swell with adoration. It seems as though sometimes your mom and Tsukishima get along better than you and he do, but it’s okay. He might not say many things, but he prefers to show it through his actions, which is much more important to you.
“Curry, just the way you like it, (Y/N)!” Your mom places a plate next to your leaning tower of homework. She and Tsukishima settle on the side and in front of you, respectively. “You should take a break, you can finish your homework later with Kei-kun.”
You sigh, but you concede and place your homework to the side. “This homework isn’t going to get done by itself, you know,” you grumble. Shoving in a spoonful of curry and rice into your mouth, your mood dissipates. “Thanks mom for the food, and you too, Kei.” A smile graces your lips.
“You’re welcome, (Y/N).” The room is filled with delightful chewing but it is stopped when your mother gasps. “I forgot to tell you, Iida’s family is stopping by!”
Through the rice in your mouth, you gulp and open your mouth, but you can’t seem to find the words coming out of your mouth. “When did they say this?”
“Just recently. They wanted to get away from the city for a weekend and I offered that since it’s only the two of us here, they are free to come by, and they are!” If your mom could, she’d be throwing a party to celebrate that the Iidas were coming to the countryside, then another party to celebrate that they arrived. You nearly forgot that your mom stayed in touch with Tenya’s mother after they moved away. Somehow, the bond of parents went beyond the breakable bond of the children.
You hum and proceed to eat your food. Better to distract yourself than to think about the true problem at hand.
“You’ve got nothing to say? I hear Tenya’s excited to see you again!” This statement prompts Tsukishima to raise his eyebrows at you. “Just a friend, Kei-kun. Nothing to worry about! Although, I did think (Y/N) and Tenya would end up together someday!” Your mom clasps her hands together, the way only a mother would in dreaming of her ideal match for her only kin.
“She only says that because we were inseparable as kids,” you explain to Tsukishima. Pointedly, you say, “Mom, I’ve got a boyfriend, clearly.”
“I know! That’s why I’m telling Kei-kun not to worry about it! I’m sure a handsome boy like Tenya has a girlfriend already!” Ah, the typical mom. Always on everyone’s side. “Next weekend, okay? I’ll leave you to yourselves. Stay in the living room.” Your mother scoops up her empty bowl and exits the room.
“So an old friend, huh?”
“Nothing to worry about.”
The next weekend, all you do is catch up with Tenya. The first day his family arrives, you resist from jumping into his arms. You used to do that often, but now you’re thinking otherwise. You settle for a warm hug.
The two of you groan unconsciously at the sight of your mother in the doorway of the living room. You are sitting two feet away from each other on the same couch and both pairs of legs are sprawled or tucked in. “Hey, Y/N and Tenya-kun. You two should head to bed, you’re being a little loud. And Tenya’s going out with his family tomorrow.”
“But we just started talking,” you whisper after you glance at the digital clock by the monitor. 2 in the morning, yikes. At least you didn’t think you seemed so loud, but sound does travel.
“No, it’s okay, Y/N. We’ll talk more tomorrow night. We’ve already talked for an hour now.” Tenya rubs his eyes underneath his glasses. “Thank you for caring for us, (L/N)-san,” he says while tipping his head toward your mother.
The shadow of your mother deceases as she retreats back to her bedroom. She always shows up leaning in the doorway, just as you see on television and she probably got it from there too. A typical mom, looking out for her typical daughter. Too bad she got all of her techniques from American soap operas.
“(Y/N), I forgot how caring your mom is.” Tenya chuckles as he folds the blanket he draped across you and him. He stands and looks around the house. “This never changed, you guys never change,” he says this while adjusting his glasses. His gaze lies back onto you and it all goes very fast for no reason at all.
“Wait, Tenya, I have a boyfriend.”
“Oh.” His expression came back as crestfallen, but he shakes his head and smiles as his body straightens up. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. I love you, Tenya, but not like that anymore.”
“Anymore?”
“Not like that anymore.”
Saturday is usually the day where your mom lets Tsukishima come into the house and lounge around after he cleans up from his volleyball practice. It came about when she said something along the lines of “Tsukishima-kun can’t be hanging around all the time! Just choose a day and you can hang out the whole day,” so Saturday it was.
The couch is always the most comfortable to be on since you can’t be in your room alone with him and there’s no other place where you can rest your head on his shoulder comfortably. His arm slings around your back and his wrist hangs off your shoulder. The two of you aren’t even doing anything but it is in the plainest moments where you fall more in love.
Everything is livelier with Tenya’s family around. You missed seeing the whole family all in one place; it’s been ten years since the Iidas moved into Tokyo. Tensei is lax as ever, you have always admired the contrast between the brothers’ attitudes. His parents insist on cooking for this weekend and while your mom is reluctant, you know she’s happy to lay back from always tending to you and the house.
The Iidas come through the door as relaxed as they can but with Tenya arguing with Tensei about some kind of law, it’s like the house is in its own earthquake. It’s a fresh change. You’ll miss this weekend for months to come.
Tsukishima purses his lips and takes a deep breath.
“Hey, don’t think I didn’t notice that you’re squeezing my arm tighter, Kei,” you tease with your tongue out.
“Tenya, Tensei, this is my boyfriend, Tsukishima.” You grin as the brothers approach you in the living room.
“Nice to meet you!” Tensei holds out his hand for a shake and Tsukishima nods and grips firmly. Tenya does the same but Tsukishima’s hand is much lazier with him.
“Nice to meet you too.” Tsukishima’s voice is nice and even, though he wants to explode inside, that’s for sure.
“We’ll leave you two alone.” Tenya shoves his hands between his brother’s shoulder blades.
“But I have so much to ask!” Tensei presses with his back, but to no avail and his mock wails shrink until they are heard no more.
The first question that comes out of your mouth is “Tsukki, are you jealous?” You only use his nickname when you’re teasing him and already, the tip of his ears are growing hot.
Tsukishima clicks his tongue in annoyance. “You can believe that but I am most certainly not.”
“I never thought I’d see the day where you’re so visibly bothered by someone getting under your skin. Maybe we should throw a party for you.” You snuggle into his side and rest your head in his neck. You look up to see his eyes but he doesn’t meet your gaze.
“Haven’t you seen me in practice with Dumb and Dumber?” You think back to the first time you watched a Karasuno Volleyball Club practice to support Tsukishima last year. While you admired Hinata and Kageyama’s efforts to become the best they can be, they always poked fun at Tsukishima for being too serious. “I’m not jealous, I’m just looking out for you.”
You hum through thin lips. “Sure.” You lace your fingers between his and everything is perfect. A loving mother, loving friends, and a loving boyfriend. How can life get better than this?
“It does look like you have a type though.”
“Tsukki!”

Mr. Number One (Ennoshita x Reader)
Title: Mr. Number One Pairing: Ennoshita x Reader Summary: Ennoshita’s always the top of the class, much to your dismay. And he’s practically perfect in every other section of his life too! What would you do to get him down a notch? Word Count: 3.6k A/N: our classic rivals to lovers plot!!! hope you all enjoy <3
“He’s really going to be number one in the class, again, after this test,” you grumble your complaints to your friends, as you always do. You’re sitting in a triangle formation, with your two friends making the other points of the shape. “How is he so perfect?”
“Well, if he was even more perfect, he’d have a starting position on the volleyball team,” Yuna says, patting your back. It’s the third time you’ve cried over a test result this year. Fortunately, nobody has come to the roof today during lunch to see you sob. “It’s one test, don’t worry. You can get him back next week!”
“Not everyone’s good at sports, so that I get.”
“He’s your rival, yet you defend him in every way; do you notice that, (Y/N)?” Satoko scrunches her eyebrows.
“He’s not a bad person!” You say, wiping the tears from the contours of your eyes. “I just hate him for being so good at everything.” An angry bite of your sandwich prompts your friends to lean away from you.
“I’m sure he’s not good at everything. You could probably find his weakness if you wanted to.” Yuna grins and you know that is her devious smile. All of your worst decisions are a result of this baring of her teeth, but there are also many things that have turned for the better because of her scheming.
Today, her smile wins you over.

Ennoshita doesn’t realize any of these things. In fact, he keeps his head down while he grinds towards better grades, because better grades will bring him to a better future. There isn’t much space between classes, tutoring, and volleyball, and when he does find free time, it goes to storyboarding a new script he’s written. Nothing’s perfect; in fact, he’s lucky that he’s got his head treading above water at times, gasping for the sweet respite of fresh air.
“Tanaka, how did you get a failing grade…again?” Ennoshita rolls his eyes when he looks over the test paper. “You could’ve fixed this easily, and this one too,” Ennoshita says when pointing out problems that were marked wrong.
“I’m not as good a student as you. All I think about is Kiyoko-san and volleyball.” Tanaka stands in the classroom of stragglers who didn’t want to leave for lunch. He’s fortunate Ennoshita’s homeroom teacher doesn’t mind Tanaka coming in and out of a classroom that isn’t even his. Tanaka puts his balled fists on his hips. He looks to the air above him and grins like nobody’s business, all until his friend smacks him on the head.
“You won’t be able to get into a university if you keep failing,” he warns his teammate. “Even if you’re that good at volleyball,” Ennoshita begrudgingly adds underneath his breath. If only he hadn’t taken time off, maybe he’d be as good as Tanaka. They even share the same position in volleyball, but Tanaka is on the starting lineup, deemed as one of the strongest. Ennoshita stands on the side and acts as a referee or score keeper for practice matches. What good comes out of being on the volleyball court, but not being able to play?
Tanaka doesn’t hear him, but instead switches the topic to someone else. “Hey, I don’t want to get tutored by you anymore. Are there any cute girls in your class that could help me?”
“What?” Ennoshita widens his eyes. “What do you mean you ‘don’t want to get tutored by me anymore?’ What’s that supposed to mean?”
Tanaka grimaces, pulling on the fabric of his school uniform. “You always yell at me like this. I want a nice girl who will cheer me on when I get two points higher on a test. You don’t think a forty is good enough,” he complains. As he drifts off into his own imagination, he dreams of a girl in a short skirt, teaching him algebra. Oh, how that must be the life. Too bad Ennoshita waves away the puff of smoke from Tanaka’s head.
“I don’t know any girls in my class that do tutoring, or any one for that matter who would want to tutor a horny guy like you.”
“Well, what about (Y/N)-chan? She’s your rival, isn’t she?” He sinks back into his chair and props his head on his hands. With his elbows on the desk, Tanaka inches closer and closer to Ennoshita’s face, wiggling his eyebrows. Luckily, she’s not in the classroom. She’s out with her friends for lunch, Ennoshita assumes.
“She’s not.”
“Then why doesn’t she like you?” There’s something on Tanaka’s face that makes Ennoshita’s elbows tighten against his sides.
“She doesn’t not like me.” When Tanaka gives him a look, Ennoshita huffs and shrugs his shoulders. He’s never really thought of you that way, or in any way. You’re just a fellow classmate in his class. He’s never had a group project with you and he’s not one to mingle with some of the girls in the classroom. Maybe you don’t like him, just like Tanaka says. “I don’t know, I don’t know her well.”
“Then could you ask her for me?” There’s something about the smile on Tanaka’s face that makes Ennoshita’s insides curl in disarray.
But Tanaka’s persistence prevails today, and with another exhale, Ennoshita folds. “Okay, fine, I’ll ask her. But tomorrow, okay? I don’t want to bother her today.”
“I don’t think you could even bother a fly, Ennoshita.”
