Been thinking a lot about the different dynamics between Yuji and Nanamin/Gojo again.

The stakes of everything Gojo does are higher. He’s playing a totally different game than everybody else; the system he uses to evaluate and rank things is fundamentally different than the systems others use. It’s like he’s doing quantum mechanics and everyone else is doing algebra. He has visibility to so much more and has so much pressure on him. I think that pressure means that he has to be very practical about how he spends his time. 

Which is something you’d expect from Nanami, but not necessarily Gojo.

Like if Yuji breaks his arm and the hospital calls Gojo he wouldn’t come. I really don’t think he’d come, but not because he doesn’t care. He would think “what can I do about it? Shoko will fix him up and send him home. The kid doesn’t need me.”

And he’s right.

 There’s technically nothing he can do in that situation that would help. Yuji wouldn’t expect him to come and it’s not like they’re super close. And when weighed against the other–totally batshit–things that Gojo does have to do (exorcize special grades all over the country before they kill thousands of people, hunt down curse users, keep the Jujutsu world from imploding, and god knows what else) he really doesn’t have much choice. 

He’s shackled to these BIG things that depend solely on his strength to succeed so he isn’t able to make time for things that are small, things that may matter to him even more than his duties. Gojo cares about his students.

And I’m not saying that Gojo is just this perfect selfless man (because he isn’t) but I have to imagine that being under the weight of keeping his whole way of life afloat would take its toll. So even when he doesn’t have some secret assignment somewhere there’s not enough gas left in the tank to do the things that he doesn’t absolutely HAVE to do. 

Like being there for Yuji, a kid with no family who is sitting alone in a hospital room with a broken limb he got from some grotesque battle. Maybe he’s got tears in his eyes because there was someone he was too late to save. Maybe he held them as they died.

But Gojo won’t know.

Nanami would go. He’d have his phone ringer on at night just for this kind of situation. 

He knows Yuji will be fine, he knows he doesn’t need to go down there and hold his hand or something, but there’s a compulsion under his skin that he can’t fight. Because no matter how strong he is, Yuji is still just a boy. A child. And he should have an adult there who knows him and is able to help, even if it’s just because he has two functioning hands instead of one and can fill out the mountain of paperwork. 

Maybe it’s something Yuji’s grandfather would have done, or a father, if he ever had one.

The steady tap tapping of his leather soles against the sterile hospital tile makes him itch. This feels wrong, like an intrusion. As he approaches the exam room Nanami suddenly wonders if this was a mistake.

But then Yuji sees him and his eyes brighten, though he throws a quizzical look, “Nanamin? What are you doing here?”

“They called me.”

“About this?” The boy gestures down to his splinted arm, which Nanami notes with a scowl has yet to be healed, “they really shouldn’t have, I’ll be alright…Boy am I glad you’re here though! Some of this paperwork is confusing and I don’t really know what I’m supposed to put down…”

Yuji’s face turns sheepish and he runs his uninjured hand through his pink hair and down to the back of his neck.

“Give it here - I’ll take care of it as soon as I track down Shoko and get her to look at that arm. They called nearly 30 minutes ago; what’s taking her so long?”

There is a short tut and the sound of the door swinging shut behind Nanami’s back.

“Who would’ve guessed you’d be such a mama bear, Kento?” Shoko’s comment has Yuji laughing but Nanami elects to ignore it. “Life threatening injuries come first, you should be glad he wasn’t higher up on my priority list tonight.”

“You know what I find funny?” she continues, grabbing a fresh pair of nitrile gloves and snapping them into place, “You said you got the call half an hour ago but your apartment is 45 minutes from here. Just where were you sleeping, dear Kento?”

Nanami’s face of stone is giving nothing away but Shoko grins when she watches him freeze momentarily as he flips a page in Yuji’s release form. She fishes out her phone and begins typing wildly, mouth falling into a pouty frown.

“How could Toru not have mentioned you were seeing someone!? I just saw the idiot yesterday.”

Nanami’s fingers jump to his temples and start to rub circles in an attempt to calm himself, “He doesn’t know. And I would appreciate your discretion about–“

“Oh…” Shoko looks up from her phone, having just pressed send, “So I sort of tore him a new one for not telling me about your secret lover…”

“Just treat Itadori. If I’m going to have Satoru up my—“ the man cuts himself off with a sigh as his phone lights up and vibrates across the tabletop. 

Yuji slaps a hand over his mouth but not quite fast enough to disguise a burst of laughter. Shoko turns away sharply to avoid the murderous glare Nanami was shooting her way.

Nanami walks stiffly out into the hallway, phone in one hand, nearly crushing the bridge of his nose with the other.

“It’s nearly three o’clock, Satoru, what is it?…Tears won’t work on me…”

Need help finding a fic

It's an Omega verse AU of Jujutsu Kaisen where Gojo is an Omega and one of his cursed technique like allows Omegas of his clan to asexually get pregnant without a father. But he slept with Alpha Nanami and they thought he was the father and they get married and all that shenanigans basically becoming an actual couple.

It has something like a lot of the higher up clans wanted to take the technique of Nanami into their families but because now he's married to Gojo, his technique is gonna be part of the Gojo clan.

Please help me find this fic. I tried searching Alpha Nanami, Omega Gojo, filtering them with top Nanami, Nanami x Gojo, and still nothing. It's driving me crazy 💀

It was not what I was expecting but it was still a good issue. They showed the Great Ring working together to defeat him and I called that back when issue 9 was released.

The highlights are ironically not the battle itself but the B plot with Cable, Orbis Stellaris, Eden (shout-out to Lactuca the Big Sister), and Brand.

Wonder what the Fisher King will do to Brand.

I want her to take her time whooping his ass and go all out.

Night Seats Revealed!

I like the juxtaposition of how the Night Seats check and balance Dawn, Day, and Dusk. It's even more poetic that they're all Non Omega mutants. No Omega has ever sat in the Night Seats and none ever will, just like how no Non Omega has ever sat in the Great Ring and none ever will.

The Night seats therefore represent the people of Arakko more so than even the Seat of All Around Us and Seats of Dusk as they're the "regular folks" that don't have stupid powerful weapons yet still continue to fight in the name of Okkara, and then Arakko. I also like that they're not bound to the customs of the Great Ring and they're really a no-nonsense kinda group. They do what needs to be done free from the biased prejudice of the Omegas serving on the Great Ring.

Which brings me to the point about Genesis. I was surprised to learn that Apocalypse is the more open minded one in the relationship. He accepts the formation of mutant circuits and even encourages it. Survival of the people more so than survival of the individual. It seems when Genesis says she's more fit than him, she embodies the same ideals as him 1000% more hardcore. Here we see that she refuses to acknowledge and even feels insulted by the role that the Seats of Night plays in battle. She doesn't like cold War tactics, she prefers direct "honorable" Combat. She even had Ora Serrata erase them from existence because they disagreed with her.

We haven't had a lot of characterization for Genesis, and the ones we have had of her seems to portray her as being a hardened warrior mother who's proud but also compassionate. But I think it's neat that they break down the stereotype of life giving nurturing Gaia-esque Snow White motherhood character in that she has some fatal character flaws too. She's too proud to listen to her people, those who she deems as weaker than her, and even those who merely disagree with her as we have seen from Idyll. He was an Omega Seer and Genesis should have known this, yet she's too stubborn and proud to acknowledge his prophecy and instead punished the very balancing mechanism for staying her hands.

Spoilers for X-Men Red #6

- WHAT THE FUCK EWING

- this issue gave me an orgasm with all the sex allegories and reveals

- I'm in love with Craig Marshall of NASA already. It's good to see a human in the Marvel Comics Universe that's just a regular folk that's not a bigoted racist moron. He's just a regular guy doing his best in an apocalypse. I like that he's trying to protect a bunch of Arakkii children (side note I'm a bit appalled that they kill children in the Abyssal Prisons, everyday I'm happier Magneto bodied Tarn) even though he's just a human. Also I like that it shows the Arakkii are actually quite hospitable in their own way, they accept and trust an outsider to ~~help~~ contribute to the shared work, of defending the Broken Land. There are of course crazy creepy survival of the fittest zealots in Arakko, but most anyone is just a normal l, albeit hardened warrior, people.

- ALL HAIL TABLE DAY! That panel of Storm, Lactuca, and Sobunar floating is just ☠️☠️. I like how Storm asks to lead the fight because she knows this is a challenge to all and she's asking permission to join in the fight. I also like that she acknowledges that Lactuca could easily destroy the machine but that she wants to express herself. Sobunar is such a Omega daddy. Good to see speaking panels for him too. He makes a good point about guilt and responsibility to Storm. Additionally, Lactuca's powers is just awesome. I like how unconventional it's being shown throughout the chapter.

- Fisher King is of the Night Seats. Called it. Well that one was a bit obvious. But I like the little worldbuilding about the Night Seats. We get all of them revealed; we have the Fisher King (who is actually nameless - not Nameless the Shapeshifter- just that he has no name), we have a new face, Syzya of the Smoke who's basically Nightcrawler Tyrande, and the biggest plot twist of it all, we have freaking Sunspot as the third member of Night. I did not see that one coming, but it's a welcome surprise. I honestly didn't care or know much about Sunspot. I thought he was just a rich billionaor playboy who's biting more than he can chew, but damn am I wrong. You know how people's attracted to power? Well let's just say I'm caught in his stellar gravity.

- The reveal that Khora and Zsen are FK's daughters is surprising. Idk how to feel about that but I'm leaning to it being a good thing. Good to see Wrongslide getting some screen time too. Also, I like that no one is surprised about Brand's shady manipulations because everyone knows she's up to something and they're already planning for that (Wiz-kid, Cable, the Brotherhood)

- Magneto is so hot when he's angry and dying. I like how he says Team to Lodus Logos and Lodus and Xilo-as-of-now are like "wtf is that?". Note that Uranos knows that Arakko Prime is alive and sent one of his toys to kill it. I also like the dialogue he had with FK and the Night Seats. So it appears that Sunspot is actually pretty sneaky. He found the existence of Night Seats and convinced them to recruit him. The Night Seats is also comprised of Non Omega mutants which I think is a poetic check and balance to the rest of the GR.

- side note, I find it interesting that Apocalypse is actually the more "lenient" one between him and Genesis. He sees the value of creating mutant circuits whereas Genesis puts emphasis on individual strength. We also get to see her character flaw in that she's extremely prideful and disdainful of subtlety. She dissolved the Night Seats and had Ora Serrata blink them out of existence because she doesn't like that they are not Omega mutants yet they have power over her and the Great Ring's actions. One could say that this attitude pattern of hers contributed to Arakko's downfall.

- Storm and Magneto team up and all the sex imagery is the cream of the crop in this issue. Them forming a mutant circuit and Storm empowering Magneto is so freaking cool. (I'm not the only one who saw the ejaculation imagery when Magneto destroyed the silicone gorilla with white molten iron right????). Also "is this after care Ororo?" Aksjdbskdjjdksksbdk I ship them now.

- the last panel shot of the Brotherhood is just 😍😍😍. Even though none of them are more than 2 years old in comic terms, the line up is already feeling way better than the current X-Men line up (not that that one is bad per se). I guess the cool inhuman looking design is also a factor in the awesomeness.

- this issue is so good. It's a shame that all the build up of fighting Uranos is kinda thrown away/damaged by the 3 panel fight scene of Storm and Magneto just KOing Uranos (surprise surprise, it's Stark who saves the day 🙄) in Judgement Day #4. The only saving grace in that issue is the panel of Magneto dying in Storm's arms. I cried at that.
