I’ve come to the understanding that no one will ever know who I truly am inside my head, and that’s 100% fine by me now. I don’t need a therapist, I don’t need the meds anymore, and both of those are big wins for me. I found a way through it like I promised myself I would. I used to go batshit crazy thinking I had to make everyone understand that; now, I just keep to myself. Maybe it’s my experiences in life, but I couldn’t care less now and I’m happier now than I ever have been. Sure, I still have dark days (and those days are harder than anything I’ve ever faced in my mind), but those days are few and far between now.

I live in the now looking forward to the future, instead of living in the present and looking back at the past. I don’t need anyone to tell me who I am. I know who I am, and my only concern now is keeping that the way it is and not getting lost. I got tired of being on the edge, so I backed up and turned around. I look towards that edge sometimes, but I can honestly say I don’t want to ever get that close to falling off again like I was.

2020 may be fucked up in every way in the world, but it is sure as hell the best year I’ve spent on this planet. I plan on keeping it that way.
