This is a post that currently has over 200k notes and this is my reblog of it as you can see I was fooled by it as well, before I decided to google it because it didn’t seem to make much sense.
Basically it said the rule was “no space, leave the place”, that if you touch a mirror and there’s a space between your finger and the reflective one, then it’s a real mirror. If there’s no space then it’s a two way mirror and people could be watching you undress.
THIS IS FALSE AND WILL DO NOTHING BUT CAUSE UNNECESSARY PANIC AND ANXIETY.
From Jowein.net: “You can not tell if a mirror in a bathroom is a two-way mirror (where someone could observer you from behind the glass) by placing your fingernail on the glass and observing if there is a gap to the mirror image or not. There are regular mirrors with and without that gap. Two-way mirrors rely on different brightness on the two sides to create the illusion of a mirror on one side, not on some arrangement of the glass sheet. You can not tell if a mirror in a bathroom is a two-way mirror (where someone could observer you from behind the glass) by placing your fingernail on the glass and observing if there is a gap to the mirror image or not. A girl in a changing room might think this rule is real, then test it and have a panic attack for no reason if there’s ‘no space’, when it may very well be just an ordinary mirror.
Proof here is that this is my finger on my hand mirror (the back of which is cardboard, so I doubt anyone can see through that)
Tumblr media
As you can see, there’s no space between the reflection of my finger, and my finger.
Here’s the Snopes link also confirming that it’s a hoax.
Please signal boost and reblog this, it could cause a lot of anguish when this rule is utterly FAKE.
Thank you

WHAT THE
THIS IS SO GOOD
Art Progression
So, I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently( it’s honestly constantly on my mind), but, I never feel like I’m making any progress, art-wise. So, I decided to make a little compilation of drawings (of Cas specifically because I love drawing his beautiful face) throughout my Tumblr years to show how my art abilities have improved change in both traditional and digital media. Because the fundamentals are the same, but the execution is VERY DIFFERENT.
Traditional Media
2015; (This is the very first picture of Castiel I ever drew. This is graphite on drawing paper (if I recall), with a bad colored pencil background). I have some background in art, but I’m largely self-taught. In college I took one life-drawing class, and a couple 2-D, 3-D art classes, but my minor was art history rather than studio (which means I studied people drawing instead of actually drawing people):
Tumblr media
I have, to date, never taken a color theory class, and I’ve always ALWAYS been very self-conscious of this. I started with only drawing in graphite or charcoal because COLOR IS HARD, and only very recently (the last couple of years) have broken into color. This above example is probably one of my earliest attempts at using color of any kind in a drawing.
I moved on from here to work with colored pencils, producing pieces like this in late 2015 throughout 2016:
Tumblr media
But, by the end of the year I ran into a snag, and I actually thought I would have to stop drawing completely. I screwed up my hand working on a colored pencil piece (I don’t hold my pencil right, and put way too much pressure on my ring finger–don’t worry, every art teacher ever in my life has told me this), and I legitimately could not hold a pencil for months. My handwriting at work was garbage because of this, and I still can only hold a pencil for short periods of time before my fingers go numb. It was awful. But, because of this, I actually switched over to watercolor. Which led me to some of my favorite pieces, like this one at the beginning of 2017:
Tumblr media
and eventually, this one by the end of the year:
Tumblr media
Pardon the pun, but I found a kind of fluidity with watercolor that I didn’t have with colored pencil, and I think my art benefited from it. Besides the colors, the poses are more interesting than the earlier pieces, and my composition got a bit better.
Digital
2015; my very first digital art of Cas is really hard to look at right now (The colors make him look like a corpse wtf).  I had a very cheap Wacom tablet at the time, and if I remember right, the line art was scanned in, because I had no idea wtf I was doing in photoshop, and I couldn’t do a drawing for the life of me.
Tumblr media
I kept working on colors and color theory in general, and ended up in 2016 with pieces like this:
Tumblr media
But, the truth is, I didn’t do a lot of digital drawing at all, until I got my Wacom Cintiq in 2017. When I got it, it the first time I could draw digitally the way I drew traditionally (ie: I could look at my hand drawing the thing), and I suddenly felt like–if I could figure out Photoshop–I could make some decent art.
This is when I started producing a ton digital pieces. I won’t link them all here. Many of you are probably already familiar with them, but, essentially, it allowed me to do things like Team Free Rock, and the bazillion other ones I won’t bore you with.
Which finally brings us to 2018, and the pink-punk Cas I recently posted:
Tumblr media
I still feel like I have no idea wtf I’m doing in Photoshop, but I suppose that’s the case with watercolor, and colored pencil, and oil, and breathing sometimes. It’s nearly always a “idk just fucking do it” inner monologue when I’m working on a project.
The Result??
There are clearly things that I can accomplish digitally that I still can’t come close to achieving traditionally, but I think I see progress here. Am I a great artist? GOD, NO, not by any standard, but, at least I can see the potential now. I appreciate the hell out of all of you for encouraging me to keep drawing. When I look at my stuff, all I see is the work I still have to do, but when you all tell me what’s great about it, I feel like I can live. I’m eternally grateful for that. Sincerely. And because of you, I really feel like I’m gonna make some DAMN ART THIS YEAR.
So, really, I guess what this post is, is a reminder to keep working. Writing, or drawing, or work or school. Maybe getting out of bed some days. It’s all hard as fuck, and we all feel like we aren’t getting anywhere, but at the end of the day, maybe we are. Maybe we just can’t see it yet.

My mother always told me
if its not bleeding
its not hurt, it’ll be fine but
mother
can you see what’s happening in my head?
my brain is untangling, mother
the blood is contained, mother
the feeling is
pulsing through my head and sounds
like crackling wire
and my eyes are becoming foggy and dull
and oh mother
blood is only what cuts light
because there is so much more when you
cut
into the deep, mother

Poem:
Sometimes I’d try
to believe
that every airplane is just a shooting star because
i really need wishes
and people will say
don’t you know that that is just how life works?
but Ill tell you something
that the oceans
aren't always at low tide
so why cant our flying machines
be wished upon?
