This post is me using the most Erudite method ever to figure why I wouldn’t be in Erudite.

Which Faction?

Sometimes I think about what faction I would choose, and it usually turns into a process of elimination thing. I actually think being aggressive is a good thing at times, so I’m clearly not amity. As important as I think knowledge is, I don’t think I’m smart enough for Erudite. I like my secrets way too much for Candor. And while I agree that selfishness is the root of all evil, I think Abnegation goes about combatting it wrong. So that leaves Dauntless, but I’m a big chicken, but maybe there I could learn to face my fears. So long story short I think I’d choose Dauntless.

This was a tryptic created for a commission a couple years ago. They were, and still are the largest inked pieces I’ve ever created. The last image shows them in their new home. I can’t remember the exact measurements of the paper, but the glass panels are 29″ by 18″.

Gandalf gave the young lady in front of him a hard look. “So you are Queen Lucy, The Valiant.”

Her answering smile was warm and kind. “Yes! And you must be Gandalf, the…” She took a look at his robes. “Grey?”

“The White.” He corrected.

“I see.” She nodded. “It’s an honor to meet you, my lord.”

“No need for this ‘my lord’ business.” Gandalf was quick to dismiss. “I understand you’ve been here for some time now, your majesty.”

“Yes. My brother Edmund is somewhere around here as well, but he’s hard to find.”

Gandalf nodded slowly. “I’ve met your sister, Queen Susan.”

“Oh! How is she?”

“Well. I wonder… Is it a family thing to be so opinionated?”

Lucy’s smile was absolutely angelic. “You are about to find out.”

I don’t know who need to hear it this evening but:

Your favorite fictional characters are proud of you!!!

They are not disappointed in you for failing that one test!

You did not let them down because you made a mistake on that one thing!

They do not hate you because you upset that one person or did that one “bad” thing!

They LOVE you because you are doing the best you can given the circumstances. They are PROUD of what you’ve accomplished today. A glass of water? Worked on a hobby? Took a shower? They are PROUD.

Don’t let your brain use your comfort characters against you.

They are there for you no matter what.
