Probably one of my favorite random things about LotR is the fact that
a) Pippin did a Gollum impression in the books
b) Pippin had never MET Gollum before that point and never would
c) yet it was an ACCURATE impression, as it startled and was recognized by the orc he was speaking to
d) the only possible explanation for Pippin Took’s accurate Gollum impression is this: Bilbo, while telling stories to the eager children, must have imitated Gollum perfectly
honestly when aliens arrive we should start having sex with them as soon as possible. so when they decide to take over a lot of them already have emotional connections/physical offspring and will form a sizeable resistance. not me, i don’t want to, but i know a lot of you would be into that, and i’m telling you it’s okay, you’re actually the last hope for our species.
you CANNOT hold me accountable for accidentally making a homestuck reference when i've never read homestuck. if you recognized it that's YOUR problem it's YOUR sin.
we live in a society where sometimes you’ll see a 19 year old with no university education make a post on some social issue that is well-reasoned, argued in good faith, and even contains citations to studies and data to demonstrate the factual basis of their argument, and then you switch tabs and there’s a 35 year old professional journalist writing an utterly emotionally unbalanced culture war diatribe accusing every single transsexual on earth of being an omnicidal neoliberal who wants to cut all social services, with the sole source being a tweet made by a 22 year old trans woman from Belgium saying, wholly in jest, that roads with potholes are transphobic.
I think a lot about that Fruits Basket story where the onigiri (rice ball) thinks its plain and bad with nothing special about it
but everyone else actually admires it because of the delicious plum on its back that it can’t see
anyway, I’m going on a second date with a girl soon and couldn’t help but think “Why would she want to keep going out with me?? I’m like, so weird and a little crazy.”
but then I remembered that there is also a plum on my back that I can’t see and that people often like others for reasons we don’t recognize in ourselves. Be kind to yourself. There’s always something good about someone– however little we remember it.
