I like to think of it as where you get your energy from rather than how much energy you have. Extroverts get energy from being with other people and being on their own drains them. Whereas introverts need time alone to recharge and being with other people is draining.

I’ve never really understood the idea of “introvert” and “extrovert” as two binary categories that people easily divide into anyway. Since it comes down to social energy, and I don’t think we’d consider “people who have a lot of energy” vs “people who don’t have much energy” with nothing in between as particularly helpful categories to pigeonhole everyone into if we were talking about physical energy. Like, not just as a present state, but as a whole static personality type?

It just seems very limited and weird.

So I’m beginning my funemployment period by watching everything in the BBC’s gay britannia program and I swear to god I am going to lose my fucking mind because they have MULTIPLE programs discussing - AT LENGTH - how for centuries queer coding and queer subtext has been used to communicate with queer audiences across art, literature, movies, and TV, in a way that is designed for straight people not to pick up on it; even going so far as to talk about the I Want To Break Free video at length 

The actual BBC is doing this

Can you believe it???? This episode is about The Ring!!! Obviously! All the signs are there.  The woman, the island, the telephone, the well. 

You know what happens when you watch the cursed videotape from that movie? You die seven days later. 

We’re getting another episode 7 days after The Final Problem.  

You know what death is always code for in Sherlock’s subtext?  Love. 

Guess what’s coming 7 days after The Final Problem?

Love.  Everything they’ve been building toward for 6 years. Everything they marketed these last few months.  Groundbreaking television. 

The Final Problem might be the most masterful piece of writing I’ve ever had the pleasure of encountering and if this all turns out to be true, then, for me, it will be worth the wound.

TFP is John’s version of TAB?

If I was to jump on the tinfoil train… I would like to point out that John is absolutely into watching crap telly. Plus, he made Sherlock watch James Bond. And, John absolutely LOVES horror movies.

We know from TLD that John doesn’t sleep, not much, after Mary died. So how does he spend those nights, if not with watching some movies?

TLD ends with John finding out that the Holmes brothers have a mad sibling, who has no problem with straightforwardly pointing a gun into his face just because John looks funny.

And now he’s drugged up by that tranquilliser… and has a nightmare. And what would that nightmare be about? The explanation of how it is possible for the Holmes brothers to have this mad sibling nobody knows about, and who possibly is “locked up in a tower”, as John already had pointed out.

As many of us had already speculated during TAB, the equivalent to Sherlock’s gay fever dream would be John’s heteronormative nightmare. And well… isn’t this what it was? Plus, mix in all the horror movies you can possibly think of, bad cinematography and a weak plot because other than TAB, TFP takes places in John’s mind bungalow and not in Sherlock’s mind palace, you have to lower your standards a bit… After all, John as “no imagination”.

So he borrows from everything he knows. Horror movies. A bit James Bond. And all those quotes that he re-uses, the East Wind, the second DVD of Mary etc. In the dream itself, it very often is John himself who drives the plot (e.g. the deduction about the Govenor being compromised by Eurus’s manipulation), despite it being an utterly bad one. 

I know this does in no way explain how John could know about Redbeard / Victor Trevor and Musgrave… but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ when Moftiss can fuck us up with plotholes as big as entire states just because they wanna have some fun…

Do you realize what happened?

We were told there are two stories: “Death in Samarra” and “Death in Sumatra”. We have been watching “Death in Sumatra”, where Sherlock changes the way fate works (ignores the story they’ve been telling from the beginning), goes to an entirely different town (The Final Problem), and becomes a pirate (“I’m Sherlock Holmes, the pirate”). We have been watching Sherlock’s fanfic the whole time. “Death in Samarra” is the true story, the one that’s been chugging full-speed ahead since 2010 when they started the show. It’s the one we have all realized through the subtext. But that’s not the one we watched. That one is still out there – that reality is coming. There will be a fourth episode, there WILL be, and it will follow “Death in Samarra”, where our characters reach the fate they’ve been destined for this whole time.

Victor Trevor is a tiny lil’ version of John Watson ya all! This explains why Sherlock immediately felt connected with him when they first met. He was waiting for him. All his life, without even knowing.
