Marlene sat on the bench outside her house, she loved it, it was a place she could clear her mind. It wasn’t long ago when she had gotten a letter from her girlfriend, y/n black informing her that she was set to marry

When she had read the letter Marlene had inspected it very carefully, flipping it over and shaking it in hopes for it so be some sort of sick joke

You told her you wouldn’t tell your parents, how did they find out?

Marlene didn’t realise a few stray tears had slipped down her face

“Marlene?” She heard her mother call “your lucky I noticed you, I was about to lock the door, come in now it’s dark”

“Just a few more minutes, I’ll lock the door I promise” her mother rolled her eyes before agreeing and heading back up to bed

She felt drowsy it was like a nightmare she couldn’t wake up from, we’re you okay? We’re the hurt or blackmailing you?

The thoughts consumed her and she shivered, not from the cold but from the thought of you marrying someone way older than you and someone who could easily take advantage of you

She didn’t wasn’t to send a letter back, incase you got into trouble, she had a feeling that sending the first letter was a big big risk on your part

Standing up and wiping the faunal tears from her face she numbly walked back inside

Time had never moved both equally slowly and fast for you.

You had gotten fitted into your mothers wedding dress and you had met your ‘husband’. Now you were sitting in your room just thinking

Your train of thoughts were quickly interrupted by a frantic but gentle knock on your door.

“Come in” you prompted and the door swung open, revealing your eldest brother

“Hi-” you were quickly cut off by him

“Father is gone, nows your chance”

“Chance for what?”

“To leave, to Marlene’s”

You looked at him as if he told some kind of joke “ he’ll catch me, it’s not worth it”

“You should at least give it a try”

“What am I going to do if Marlene’s family don’t let me stay?” You quizzed

“Potters” he stated simply “they’ll let you stay until we can sort something out, but for now i don’t see why Marlene’s parents will have a problem with you staying”

Your eyes wondered to the ground unblinking, he was right, it was worth a try, you promised Marls you would try everything.

“I’ll do it”

You stood offside to your house waiting for the knight bus, hopeful your father wouldn’t come back. Your hands held your trunk and you thanked your lucky stars that lily had put an extendable charm onto it

Feeling yourself get knocked back slightly by force of the knight bus stopping beside you

“How many tickets?” The conductor, a man in his late 50’s to early 60’s said

“One please”

“That’ll be eleven sickles” he said handing you the ticket after you handed him the money

He turned to the side letting you on

You had never been on the knight bus before as your parents had referred to it as a place for “dirty” witches and wizards

“Hold on tight love” he told you as you grabbed one of the bars nodding your head in thanks

The bus stopped a little bit away from Marlene’s house, you prayed Sirius was right and they would let you in

Marlene stirred slightly when she heard a knock on the front door, her room was downstairs and the closest to the front door

Assuming her parents didn’t hear it she moved cautiously, with her wand , that was useless in her hand

She twisted the key and carefully pulled down the handle pulling the door to revel

“Hey” you said, as you saw Marlene standing there in her pyjamas

“Y/n?” She gasped practically jumping on you “what are you doing here?”

You squeezed her tightly “I ran away”

“Come” she said pushing you inside them grabbing your trunk

You had memorised the walk to her room from the last time you had visited

“I’m sorry I had no where else to go” you sobbed, finally letting your pent up emotions go

“It’s okay lovely, I’m happy your here”

“Dad wanted me to marry lestrange” she nodded bringing you into a hug

“How did they find out?” She asked you drawing circles into the small of your back

“Narcissa I bet, fucking can’t mind her own busines”

She kissed your forehead, laughing slightly at your aggressive comment

“Your parents won’t mind me staying?” You asked nervous of what she would say

“No of course not, they love you y/n” she said making you smile through the tears

Marlene wiped the tears of your face with the palm of her hand “I love you y/n black”

You smiled and placed a kiss on her lips “and u love you Marlene McKinnon”

A/N I don’t see walburga like this at all I just needed y/n to have some sort of parental support. Also most of this doesn’t line up with cannon ages or timelines. I’ve already started part 2 :)

you think back to the time you got to share with Marlene, she was your light, your best friend. It pained you to know you could never have that again

You had swore to yourself that you wouldn’t tell your parents or anyone from your family for that matter, of course you had told Sirius and reg it was something you couldn’t hide from them, Sirius especially.

But when you had arrived home for the summer you walked into the kitchen to find your mother and father sitting at the table, their faces stone cold

“Mother, father” regulus swiftly greeted them followed by a nod from you and Sirius moved straight up to his room

Orion raised his finger and pointed at you “your a whore”

You looked at him “what did I do father?”

“Who’s the girl?” He grits out

It doesn’t take you long to realise who he was referring to “I have no idea what your talking about”

Your father stood up and moved in front of you giving you a slap across the face, stumbling slightly

“Father you must be mistaken” you try and remain firm

“I’ve heard all about it from Narcissa, your little night escapes with the whore”

You sat on your bed your muscles tense and your face being cleaned by Sirius

“He found out about Marlene and I” you clarify

The next morning nerves racked your body as you wondered downstairs terrified to see your father but in some miracle your father was no where to be seen, instead your mother sat at the head of the table

“Where is father?” You asked carefully in case your mother was angry with you

“Business” she replied shortly making you nod turning your head to pull out a glass from the cabinet

Your mother took a deep breath in “does she make you happy?”

You turned around eyes a little wide “who?”

“The blonde girl”

You blinked slowly before cautiously saying “yes” bracing yourself slightly incase your father or someone else were to jump out and hurt you

“Then that’s good enough for me” you were surprised by your mothers words, you two had a complicated relationship she never did anything to hurt you but she never stopped the abuse and humiliation on your fathers part

You murmured a little “thank you” before running up to your room, glass of water completely forgotten

You were laying stomach down on your bed reading a quidditch magazine, it had been about 4 days since your father left and the house was quieter

The Tuesday afternoon peace was quickly interrupted by feet storming up the stairs, quicker followed by your mothers frantic voice

“Orion don’t do it” you pleaded, making you sit up and discard of the magazine

The door to your room burst open and your father stood there, your mother behind him with her hand on his upper arm

“Get up, now” he demanded making you stand to your feet “Your getting married”

You stared at him in shock, that wasn’t possible, you were 15 “what?”

“You heard me, tomorrow at 8 you will be taken to the malfoys manner and you will marry the lestrange boy, do you understand?”

Rabastan Lestrange was older then you by six years, making him twenty one, surly the ministry wouldn’t allow it

“You fem wear your mothers wedding dress” he then turned to your mother “send an owl get someone to get her fitted”

He turned around dramatically before storming down the stairs

You collapsed onto your bed and just sobbed, you felt a hand on your upper back and realised it was your mother.

“I’m sorry y/n, but this is what it has to be” she said curtly

“At least let me send a letter to her”

Your mother turned her head towards your open door “make it snappy and make sure Orion doesn’t find out”

You nodded frantically and you got up from your bed, wiping your tears as you strided across to your desk grabbing a piece of parchment, ink and a quill

My dearest Marls

It’s in my deepest sorrows I regret to inform you that

my father found out about us, I don’t know how. But he didn’t take the news so well and I an expected to marry by tomorrow, I don’t know what to do, what can I do really, I feel ill. I’m not sure when you will receive this letter or I’m not sure if I’ll be returning to hogwarts next term. I love you more than anything, and I’ll try and find a way back to you, I always will.
