I do plan to make a comic addressing Sera’s behavior around Lili, that despite being married she still struggles with intimacy. She knows sex with her married life isn’t a sin, but she’s been conditioned for millions of years to view lustful thoughts as immoral.

Sera and Lili have been married longer than they’ve been dating so I’m always kind of surprised that people don’t know they’re not girlfriends anymore.

One thing I'll never forget was when a Hazbin Hotel fan said that my Angel Dust redesign was bad because he "looks like Lady Dimitrescu"

I do hope to stop talking about the fandom eventually (probably soon since it doesnt affect me as much as it used to) but I never appreciate people trying to police my feelings on the whole ordeal.

What I experienced genuinely traumatic, probably the worst day over a design I was just working on for fun. Not helped by these people not only refusing to apologize but doubling down by spouting off vile things my way. terrible fandom, terrible community is only going to continue to get worse and eat itself into oblivion if it cant get its shit together

Although I do think the Lady Dimitrescu complaint was funny like what bizarre criticism LOL

Same goes for angels. I have a good amount I'd love to show but never had a lot of time for.

I tend to draw Powers close to Luvart and Sera’s height, but honestly that’s so she can fit in the panels. I like imagining her being 2 feet shorter than everyone.

She’s 6”1 but all the angels are 8 feet at minimum so she’s a short king.

Maybe its because personally i love doing redesigns and i love seeing people's reinterpretations but I genuinely do think people who assume redesigns are inherently hurtful or problematic (and yes i am also including redesigns that try to improve someone's work) are just being goofy.

It's just art, we're all artists here. It's no different than verbally critiquing someone's work. Also to be clear I mean for shows that are professional or indie, I don't mean someone's personal OC, thats a very understandable thing to be bothered by.

I've seen people redesign my own characters and I love it every time. I even have them saved on my laptop. I love that shit. No reason to have a fit over it.

I want to add on to this:

I notice this fandom has a really big problem with justifying their harassment if they deem a redesign as bad. Lavendertowne did some Hazbin Hotel redesigns (that she admitted were rushed) and got bullied relentlessly by the fandom. Somehow it turned into big youtuber drama as well.

But when she posted her updated designs, fans were preaching about how they "forgave" her and that she "redeemed" herself.

I can't believe I'm saying this but an artist making a redesign you don't like does not justify mass harassment. Someone's redesign shouldn't have to be good for you to reconsider how you treat them because that is a real fucking human being.

LT herself even criticized the fandom for how hostile and sometimes cruel they can be towards casual fans and critics (certain fandom channels that post people's names uncensored so that fans can mass harass and target them), and instead of doing any sort of self reflection, fans reacted as if their abusive behavior was justified because it pushed Lavendertowne to improve her designs.

That's unacceptable, plain and simple.

The Hazbin Hotel fandom's open hostility towards redesigns is honestly very sad. I've never seen any other fandom get this bad. If someone redesigned my characters id love it. It feels flattering that someone takes the time to rework my designs to come up with their own interpretations.

We love that Bugtopia has a more story-focused feel now, even if it seems simple at first glance. 🐦‍⬛

no inspiration. i really like bugs and christian lore. so i just did my own thing.

How do heights and sizes work in Bugtopia? I’m gonna make a Hercules Moth OC, but I’m struggling to determine its height difference from the rest of the cast since in real life, no other bug in the cast is anywhere close to how big it is

honestly i originally planned to make them more proportional to each other like real bugs, but the issue is that some of these bugs are like comparing a human to a building. So its really about consistency and just making sure i can fit two bugs on the same panel.

I did think about drawing swap!Powers and swap!Luvart though. their versions would be a lot more drastic. Powers would be Hell's greatest villain and Luvart would be saint.

How did you learn anatomy and how do you draw it so well

I’m struggling with my own art lol

You’re art is so so so pretty and I love the shapes ahdhsjsjsbs

lots of online tutorials and studies. I also started doing this thing i learned from art class called 30 second posing (though i shrank it down to 15 seconds because i can draw sketches pretty fast) where i just look up a pose, and then sketch it quickly and it helps me figure out how to make poses feel more dynamic.
