Of course Neil Josten, who understood Andrew's way of thinking and operating on promises and games quicker than anyone else, was able to wholly understand Jean's coping mechanisms to find a loophole that allowed him to live. This is the Neil who had to think fast every time he wanted truth out of Andrew because the other would never answer to or accept smalltalk.
