This branches out in ways I’ve never seen thoroughly explored and I really hope this post inspires more Twilight writing not centered on Edward and Bella, let’s in turn address and look at the unresolved issues and loose ends

Alec, Jane and Renesmée's mega fun, no sleep required, 2 year maximum, bucket list-speed through extravaganza!!!

So I watched Eclipse again…why do I come up with the greatest AUs when I watch Eclipse again?? Its because I fucking HATE Eclipse lmaoo. Ok so y’all remember my “Victoria should have turned everyone in Forks, Washington instead AU”? Well here’s another one.

They are no other vampire children in twilight. Aside from Jane and Alec who are twelve, they have never met anyone else that we know of, and nobody tried turning a 12 years old out of risk of creating an immortal child. Do you think they got excited at the prospect of Renesmée once the Cullens got cleared of any wrong doing? Renesmée is around 8/9 years old when she meets Aro for the first time and she grows super fast. Idk the math on that one, but how fast does she grow? 3 years in 365 days?? I’m ace and I can’t do math, but either way, Jane and Alec have to move fast. What do I mean by that? No matter how evil or too cool for ya, the Volturis are perceived to be, Jane and Alec are still children. I bet they forced Aro to agree to a treaty with the Cullens or else they will bounce, which explains how calm everyone is after breaking Dawn part 2.

Jane and Alec probably revolted and demanded a 1 year ( maybe 2 years if her super-growth allows it) play-date. I’m not sure what goes through a mind of a perpetual 12 years old: the stresses of constant puberty (or is that not a thing, but being forever pregnant is lmao)? The highs and lows of high school football and watching your celebrity crush grow old…too old and now it’s ruined? That all the Rom-coms and silly childhoods fantasies you have about the future are just that…. fantasies? That the only other person your age is related to you? Does that bring them comfort or melancholy? How many times have I heard my friends giggle about their first kiss or date? At 12 you are in the 6 grade or 1st year of high school. The only thing people cared about was who liked who, dumb celebrity gossip, and if you watched the game last night. Trivial stuff. Jane and Alec have worked for a government forever, but do they wonder what it’s like to be just 12?

So they propose a treaty. For 1 or 2 years, Jane and Alec get to be kids, they get to be in Forks, pretend to be the niece and nephew of the Denalis (irina doesn’t get killed and neither does Laurent), the children’s of Garret and Kate. Give me the chaos of such a family unit. They get to hang out with Resnesmée and talk about the current century shenanigans. What music do they like? Are they jamming to the right generation? Have Alice and Emmet help them break in to an amusement park on a rainy/cloudy day and just go wild. Let them enjoy a summer full of childish wonder. Do what kids do and just live in their own bubble of forever even if it only last so long.

But what if we get….a little more complicated… On that bucket list, lets not pretend “have a first kiss” isn’t on there…Is it now or never? But then we have a problem. Which one of them? Jane or Alec? Even if they agree that Resnesmée gets to kiss both and it’s all in the name of curiosity…. Resnesmée grows up. And then what?

Then they can never meet again. They can hang out when Renesmée is between the ages of 10-14 MAYBE and then they gotta go their separate ways forever. A 16 years old cannot in good faith argue about hangout with two 12 years olds, let alone when Resnesmée reaches maturity. This dilemma was very interesting to me in twilight. Edward wanted to wait 5 years to turn Bella so she wouldn’t trow her life away and he’s not wrong for that, but Bella was also right to be turned right now. I mean…. a 22 years old with a 17 years old is…. more than ew. At 19 i didn’t even wanna hang out with a 16 years old, like wtf do we have in common, you are a junior in high school and I’m in college. Add the fact that vampires are  frozen emotionally and mentally and we have a predatory situation. I can’t blame Bella for wanting to be turned at 18. I think the whole concept of imprinting scarred us all already. Sadly, this will be the only thing on their bucket list left unchecked.

Will Jane and Alec be sad,to  watch another person, someone unrelated, someone who isn’t family, be so close to them, grow up again? Is it gonna be weird now? Was it gonna be weird for a 22 years old Bella to look at a 17 years old Edward and be like …“we kissed….and you’re still 17. I’m a grown ass woman…and you’re 17 FOREVER”??? Do you think Bella would have been like “it’s too weird now, we can’t see each other lol” or ever see Edward as the child that he is? At 30?40?70? Lmao what was Edward thinking of never wanting to turn Bella. And if Smeyer went down that route….yeah no. I don’t trust her. Even if Resnesmée shows up to the Volturi again it gotta be strictly professional, or else we enter another grooming, Jacob x Renesmée fiasco.

So what now? No curiosity on kissing AND they can’t be friends after a few years? The consequences are too big and the water gets too murky and the children can’t see right from wrong anymore. We know its wrong, but then we turn the sympathy tears on “there is no one else that is 12 in the world!!” and yet its still grooming, inappropriate, weird and predatory. No you can’t hang out with 18 years old Renesmée. “But she can just be our big sister/aunt figure”. Decisions, decisions, and my decision is “no and that’s final.”

This is probably the first attempt at such a thing and Jane, Alec and Resnesmée have no data to fall back on, let alone the adults around them trying to navigate these 3 into something very important. A moment that once is gone, it’s gone for good.

What if we get darker…. What if this sparks something and Jane and Alec go crazy with nothing to lose….what if they turn other kids their age…kids who can stay vampires forever. They don’t even have to kidnap one either. How many children are abandoned or orphaned. Will Jane coerce them into accepting their fate, make them feel pain until they agree to be her friend forever? Nah too cruel and direct. What if Alec steals all their senses unexpectedly, even during their turning and they would never know what hit them until they wake up? Hey a little manipulation never hurts, the Volturis taught them well… How many tries will it take until they create a non-immortal child. Or what If Aro sees all this madness and decides to create a Resnesmée 2.0. as a desperate attempt not to lose grip on the two most powerful vampires that ever lived???

Or what if we get even more interesting What if we make another treaty, what if we make this a summer camp? Why make it so it’s just Jane, Alec and Resnesmée? What if we squash the beef for good? I say we take those young quileute children who shifted and make them join. It’s for the greater good of all! If this goes well, no more fighting. Jane and Alec are able to breathe a little easier cuz at least the wolves can stop aging, as long as they shift and who knows, maybe one of them will like them just enough to remain 12 with them. Maybe it’s because they still need to process and understand what all of this means and it’s easier to stop the aging process then going through the motions? Or maybe they are angry and have renounced their human selves, cuz fuck this fur, and fuck these claws, and fuck this anger, but the woods beckon for me and Its been a 2 years and I’m still 12, cuz i can’t stop shifting?? Whatever the reason…the twins don’t care, even if everyone else grows up, including Resnesmée.

And what if we make this more practical. Fuck Jacob imprinting on Resnesmée….make it so 2 quileute wolves imprints on the twins!! What kind of systematic merging between these two species will this cause? I always said before that Bree should have been kept alive, she was 15, innocent, a runaway and got manipulated. Having Seth imprint on Bree mid-battle would have destroyed the need for Breaking Dawn part 1 and 2 as it stands now. Heck maybe that’s how the children of the moon should become a thing! Since we know nothing about them except for the fact that lycanthropes are immune to venom, unlike shapeshifters. Aside from that we know nothing else, so give them THIS backstory. THIS IS HOW YOU SHOULD HAVE EXPENDED YOUR UNIVERSE SMEYER! This + my Eclipse AU would have given you so much content. Bree x Seth’s soulmatism is the trigger, Jane & Alec’s ambitions are the result, but Leah x Nahuel is the legacy! Make Alice finding Nahuel less of a cop-out and give Leah, not only the empowerment of being the first female shapeshifter, but also the children she wants so much. Think about it…Lycantropy being a permanent thing because of alpha and matriarch known as Leah Clearwater. Jacob can fuck off from Renesmée’s life and be with Benjamin idc. Moon magic blessed these wolves with immunity to venom so they can be with their loved ones, friend, protector or otherwise. That isn’t any less crazy then how shapshifters came to be or Jacob feeling “attracted” to Bella due to Renesmée lol.

Will Caius force the twins to drop out of the Volturi if they get imprinted on? Alec & Jane and their protectors??? If you dared mess with them before, you will for sure not mess with them now. Just 4 kids who are gonna be young forever, traveling the world without a care for anything or anyone. Maybe their friendship have brought peace to both sides or made it more complicated or worse? Four 12 years old against the world! Hey we’ve read enough books and movies about all the fantastical adventures a bunch of kids can get into….maybe it won’t be so bad. Maybe Jane and Alec won’t need to finish their entire bucket list with Resnesmée or maybe they will and they can always create more, with other people. Because they are other people now and its safe and time is on their side and they got forever to complete their childish list.

I have complicated feelings about Rosalie, but I feel it is important to remember she was turned in the middle of the greatest trauma point in her life. She is frozen in that position of helplessness. Keeping in mind the situations when the Cullens were turned helps explain some of their behavior IMO (IE Esme’s nesting, Emmetts obsession with competition, Edwards abandonment issues)

The concept extends to the rest of the vamps as we know them - Hell, Jane and Alec’s powers are directly tied to their method of death (Jane wanting others to feel the pain of burning alive, Alec wanting to take the pain away). And Alice, the best adjusted of the Cullens from the outset, is the only one not saddled by the circumstances of her turning, because she has no subconscious memory of it to be solidified like the rest of the family.

It feels intentionally obtuse to not understand Rosalie’s desperation for control and stability as manifestation of that trauma. That doesn’t make her choices right, but it certainly gives her purpose, rather than the “meaningless bitchy blonde” some in the fandom paint her.

Edward satat his piano and began playing the keys to his favorite song at the moment. It had shocked him to hear such a song that included the piano on the radio, and quickly learned the play it.

Just as Edward had played the first few seconds of the beautiful piece for #throwbackthursday, Emmett and Rosalie came into the room. His brother had a big smile on his face that worried Edward for a moment until,

"Hey I know this song too!"

Emmett buffed up and walked over towards Edward as he continued to play. Edward should have been cautious then. And that's when he'll broke loose. As Edward played, Emmett sang the wrong words that still seemed to fit the melody,

The thing that gets me about Eclipse is that so many people died because of Bella and Edwards relationship here. While we see that most of the newborns lost their humanity and memories, it's sad that some still try to figure out why things are familiar or comfortable, it's sadder that the one's who paired off were killed

The New Moon soundtrack slaps the hardest for me. Breaking Dawn had good songs but it took me out of the Twilight immersion having big name artists and songs play on the radio. The songs on the Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse soundtracks were special because they tied directly to the story and you had to go find the album to listen to it. But with the last albums the songs were played so many times on the radio that it didn't have the rarity or indieness the others did

This Thursday 5/14/2020 at 12 pm est. I will be hosting a game for either of these games for 2 hours. I will be hosting the game on my discord and want to interact with you all again. If you are interested, you have to use discord for this game.
