Another dream comic. Had a dream where I was tied to a chair in a dark room and some hooded figures killed me after I begged for my life—but then I got caught in a time loop and so I kept trying to figure out what I could say to get them to not shoot me but they killed me no matter what I said. Started just shouting random stuff eventually.

When I face the mirror, I see a woman looking back at me.
But when your eyes meet mine, you see only what you expect.
Looking in the mirror, I feel the essence of womanhood.
Yet when you look, criticism fills the space.
The reflection breaks, like shattered glass, But in your mind, there's no room for my true self.
Next time you look at me, really see me.

Excuse me, ahem. I would like to normalize a thing, please?
I would like to normalize not ending a friendship just because one of you develops and even declares feelings. Even when they're not reciprocated.
Honestly, it kind of baffles me. Isn't it totally normal to develop feelings for someone you like, spend time with, and trust?
Isn't it normal for attraction to be fickle and feelings to NOT develop even under the same circumstances?
Isn't it weird to have to choose between possibly ending the relationship and possibly never knowing if the feelings are reciprocated?
Silliness!
Why can't we just TELL each other and if the feelings are NOT mutual why can't we just go, oh, gotcha, no problem, and carry on?
And if they are mutual, that doesn't even have to mean you go for it. There can be a thousand reasons you might say, oh, how delicious, we both have feels for the other and... We're not going to pursue that right now. And still be friends! Maybe even closer for it because you're honest and real and vulnerable and mature together.
I know it's not always quite THAT simple, but I think it should be that NORMAL.
I realize in queer communities this is much more normal than in straight communities and that even in straight communities it's normal for a lot of folks.
But it's also really normal for entire friendships to end over one person declaring their feelings. And I just really hate that.
Also, for the record, I have a crush on you. All of you.
I hope we can still be friends.
