Marvel’s Daredevil || Colors + Black
"True or not, the legend says that once they have the Black Sky they'll be capable of anything. It's not about what I'm willing to do. Even in a cage, I'll be their false idol. They will do terrible things in my name because they think the Black Sky will make them invincible."

Tree-climbing teenage Esme — a moodboard
I love the idea of, like, teenage Esme; free-willed, abitious, troublemaker extraordinaire. Her parents were absolutely exasperated; begging her to act like a normal young lady. She developed an interest in books. Perfect, they think. Appropriate, valuable, safe. But no. She brings her books up into the tree with her, reading until the sun begins to set. She takes them into the forest and sits on the branches hanging over the stream with her feet dipped in. She starts learning about botany, and they think: now we’re talking! Every young lady should know how to care for plants, tend a garden, feed her family. But Esme doesn’t want to learn about boring gardening. She brings weird plants home from the woods and streams, hands and feet covered in dirt and the ends of her skirts and dresses caked in dried mud. Her knees are always scraped. Her hands are always rough with dirty nails. She’s broken her arms and legs more times than any respectable lady should. She had so much potential to be such an inquisitive, headstrong adult; but then they introduced her to Charles Evenson. Not a particularly lucrative man, but he was willing and everyone loved him. They encouraged her to marry him. Charles, shockingly quickly, did a very good job at dulling Esme’s light.
