Living in the literal rain shadow—a meteorological term denoting an area on the sheltered side of a mountain range with reduced precipitation due to wind patterns—served as the catalyst for most of the album’s tracks. The compositions draw inspiration from daily encounters with geological and meteorological features, offering a musical reflection on the newfound wonder of residing in the rain shadow, described as a mix of humility, awe, peace, thrill, tranquility, and beauty.
