Or maybe they're just dicking around it's them after all #Charles is so in love with Henry he doesn't know what to do with himself #Neither does Henry #Henry loves the attention but it frightens him a little #His affection for Charles is genuine but he's got some commitment issues #As a thief constantly on the run there isn't much he can count on in his life #And this fiendish creature from a huge criminal organization is one of two people in the world he trusts #And may be the first person he's ever loved unselfishly #Henry doesn't know what to do with that #Charles has already decided he's all in. #Ellie's usually his date in her suits #Charles is either on the outside or using his natural charm to get Toppats wrapped around his fingers #Henry is a quiet and lovely creature who can play parts if he doesn't get distracted #He's not gonna complain about the satin dresses and gold jewelry anyway #Yes he does know he's beautiful #He WILL complain about all of this and have a wonderful time anyway #His love of undercover missions is as covert as his team #Meaning: It really should be secret but everyone knows

This specific moment is a Toppat!Charles timeline but honestly? Very few things differ between this guy and 'canon' Charles.

#Charles has always been....excitable #Any time he's needed Bold Action Man is THERE #Any time he's NOT needed #He is also there #When you DO NOT WANT HIM THERE #Bold Action Maaaaan #Henry just wanted a simple pickup #He told his new best friend that he's got a great guy who was trustworthy and brave and reckless and handsome... #And a random aircraft comes hurtling at them soon after #Ellie is Concern

But she's not apt to actually listen to him often
