Pairing: Steve Harrington x Female!Reader

Following Eleven’s grand return and Hopper’s conversation with Mike, everyone returns to the kitchen table to form some sort of game plan. I’m not sure in what world a bunch of kids and two adults could possibly take down a bunch of mini-Demogorgons, but I’ll stick around. I rather be here in a house full of guns and other weapons than be a sitting duck outside.
“It's not like it was before. It's grown. A lot,” Hopper expresses to everyone, especially Eleven who’s seeing everything for the first time. “And, I mean, that's considering we can get in there. The place is crawling with those dogs.”
My point exactly. At least there’s someone else here who lacks a little faith in this death mission.
“Demo-dogs,” Dustin corrects, leading me to roll my eyes.
“I'm sorry, what?” Hopper questions harshly.
“I said… uh…Demo-dogs.” Dustin continues and if I weren’t sitting on the counter across the room I’d knock him across the head. “Like Demogorgon and dogs. You put them together, it sounds pretty badass…”
“How is this important right now?” Hopper snaps.
“It's not. I'm sorry.” The boy cowers.
“I can do it,” Eleven interjects confidently.
“You're not hearing me,” Hopper counters.
“I'm hearing you. I can do it.” The girl stands her ground.
“Even if El can, there's still another problem,” Mike reasons. “If the brain dies, the body dies.”
“I thought that was the whole point,” Steve voices beside me.
“It is, but if we're really right about this… I mean, if El closes the gate and kills the Mindflayer's army… Will's a part of that army. Closing the gate will kill him,” Mike explains.
Suddenly, Joyce steps away and down the hall. Hopper follows after her, causing all of us to do the same. Steve pushes off the counter and grips my waist to help me down. We all shuffle into Will’s room where we’ve settled him on the bed. They had to drug him after he figured out where we were so he couldn’t send signals to the Mindflayer.
“He likes it cold,” Joyce mutters.
“What?” Hopper inquires.
“It's what Will kept saying to me. He likes it cold,” Joyce repeats as she stomps over to the open window. She slams it shut and turns to her sleeping son. “We keep giving it what it wants!”
As I peer at Will’s newly pale complexion, I make a realization. “Then heat him up,” I mutter to myself as I piece it all together.
Out of my peripheral vision, Hopper looks to me. “What was that?” He presses.
“It hates heat,” I voice to the Chief then redirect my attention back to the boy. “Take wolves or polar bears for example. They need the cold to survive.” I scoop up Will’s hand to feel his temperature and sure enough he’s freezing. “If you place them in the desert, they’d eventually die out. Place him in heat.”
Jonathan moves to stand beside me and places a hand on his brother’s forehead. “We need to burn it out of him,” He concludes.
“We have to do it somewhere he doesn't know this time,” Joyce remarks.
“Yeah…somewhere far away,” Hopper agrees, and it’s evident by his expression he already has somewhere in mind.

Steve
While Y/N stays inside watching the little shits, Nancy and I dig around the pile of junk in the Byers’s yard for anything that can create heat. Jonathan and Mrs. Byers are going to take Will somewhere to burn this thing out of him while Hopper takes Eleven to close the gate. If we’re going to burn this parasite of an alien, we’re going to need a lot of heat… a lot a lot. As we kick and toss shit around, I realize this is the first time Nance and I have been alone in days, weeks almost.
“You should go with him,” I tell her, breaking the silence.
“What?”
“With Jonathan,” I suggest.
No, I'm... I'm not just gonna leave Mike,” she states, avoiding eye contact.
“No one's leaving anyone,” I assure her as I spot a space heater. “I may be a pretty shitty boyfriend, but… turns out I'm actually a pretty damn good babysitter,” I joke half-heartedly.
Her features fall. “Steve…”
“It's okay, Nance. It's okay.”
She gives me a soft smile and continues digging. “So you and Y/N…”
A soft nervous laugh escapes me and I feel a faint heat forming in my cheeks. “Yeah…” I bite down on my lip.
“I’m… I’m happy for you guys…” Nance expresses. “Really.”
I nod contently. “It was kind of unexpected.”
“Suprised me at first,” She admits. “But now… Now I can kinda see how it made sense all along.”
My brows scrunch together slightly without Nancy noticing as she searches for more stuff. So, Nancy can see how Y/N and I make sense, even while she and I were together? How? I didn’t even see it until all this happened. Could everyone see it? I mean sure Y/N and I were friends but… we were just friends… right?

Y/N
While Hopper is out with Eleven and the Byers/Nancy are with Will, Steve and I are left with the kiddos at the Byers. I remove myself to Jonathan's room for a second in search of one thing, his walkman. If we're going to be stuck here until the foreseeable future I'm not going to listen to a bunch of middle schoolers talk about nerd stuff for hours.
I shuffle down the hallway with some decent music. As I pass by the kitchen, my eyes land on Steve and Dustin struggling in front of the fridge.
Dustin removes the last remaining shelf and sets in on the floor. “Okay, he should fit now...”
“is this really necessary?” Steve grunts, holding a clump of blanket in his arms. As he tosses his arms up to adjust, the demodog's head slips out.
“Oh my god!” I shout, causing both of the idiots to snap their heads in my direction. They peer at me with wide eyes like they've been caught committing a crime. "What are you guys doing?!”
“This is a significant scientific discovery!” Dustin argues.
My jaw drops with a huff. “You’re not putting that thing in their fridge!”
“You can’t just bury it like some common mammal!” Dustin whines.
I press my fingers to my temple with a deep sigh. I'm definitely going to need to see a shrink after this. I'm the one-woman show of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. “Alright, well --" I state calmly. "You’re explaining this to Mrs. Byers...”
The two continue on with their task. I watch for a moment as they both try to shove the alien into the small fridge. Limbs are falling out and I swear they've lost their minds.
I shake my head and start toward the living room. “Jesus Christ... unbelievable...” I mumble.
Steve pants. “Babe, we got it!"
“Nope!" I holler from the next room, earning Lucas and Max's attention. "I saw nothing! I was not a part of that!”
__________________________
Steve
How I ended up with these little shits in the kitchen as they come up with some grand scheme to get themselves killed is beyond me.
"We need Y/N's perspective," Dustin concludes.
"No, leave her out of your idiotic plan," I demand.
"But she-"
"I don't care! You hear that?" I snap, causing all of them to look at me wide-eyed. My eyes flicker over to her in the room, peacefully laying on the couch with Jonathan's walkman over her ears. I sigh, "Look, she's already on the verge of losing her shit so keep her out of this."
"What do you mean?" Mike challenges and gestures over to her. "Look at her, she's fine!"
"That's not fine! That's her trying to calm herself down. I've seen it before a million times." I argue. I love how he thinks he knows more about Y/N than me, idiot. "When she's quiet and reclusive, that's when you have to worry about her, so just trust me on this one, alright?"
Y/N
Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale. The sound of Asia blasting in my ears brings me a few steps closer to forgetting where I am or what we're facing. If I separate myself from the situation for a little bit then perhaps my trauma won't be so chaotic as it was after last year. I do my best to drown out the many voices traveling from the kitchen, but those little shits apparently have never heard of indoor voices.
“Guys! Hey! Hey!” Steve shouts.
I lift one headphone to listen in. "What's going on in there?" I holler.
The cluster ignores me or didn't hear me as they continue to argue.
“This isn’t happening!” Steve yells again.
I rise off the couch and begin toward the kitchen as Steve continues his lecture.
“No! No 'buts!' I promised to keep you shitheads safe, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do!" He declares. "We’re sitting here, on the bench, and we’re waiting for the starting team to do their job. Does everyone understand that?”
“This isn’t a sports game!” Mike fires back.
“I said does everyone understand that?!” Steve repeats, yanking the kitchen towel off his shoulder. “I need a yes.”
"Yes!" They finally answer.
"Geez," Lucas grumbles.
"What's going on?" I ask again, causing each of them to flicker their focus in my direction.
Before I get an answer, the sound of a car rolling up the gravel driveway interrupts us. It couldn't be the Byers or Hopper already.
Max hurries over to the window and peeks out from behind the curtains. “It’s my brother!”
We all gasp. “What?!”
“He can’t know I’m here!" Lucas begins to panic. "He’ll kill me! He’ll kill us!”
Steve starts toward the front door with a stern glare.
“No!” I grab his wrist before he can pass me. "Are you nuts?”
“It’s okay, I got it," he tries to assure me.
“Billy is bat shit crazy" I remind him. "He’ll kick your ass!”
“Aw come on, have a little faith," he chuckles, bringing his hand up to my cheek.
I could come up with a million more reasons as to why going out there is a suicide mission, but instead I watch silently as Steve disappears out the front door.
The kids one by one rush passed me to all watch from the window.
“Steve’s right, he’s got this," Dustin voices confidently.
“One punch from Billy and I’m beating the shit out of him with the bat," I huff and reluctantly join the kids on the couch by the window. I pry Lucas and Dustin apart to get a better view, much to their annoyance.
The five of us in a nice row, peer out the window as Steve and Billy exchange words. I can't help but fidget. God, I hate Billy. He creeps me out and if he so much as looks at Steve the wrong way I'm going full-blow psycho on him. I'm already on edge, I don't need Billy's bullshit on top of it.
Suddenly, Billy points toward the window and Steve turns around, making eye contact with me. In unison, the five of us drop onto the couch.
“Shit! Did he see us?” Dustin panics.
I lift myself up and peek over the back of the couch to see Billy shove Steve to the ground and stomp on his stomach. Without a second thought, I rush to my feet and sprint toward the door. Before I grab my handle, the front door flies open.
Billy marches in with a snarky grin and cigarette hanging from his lips. “Well, well, well, hey there Beautiful...” He purrs, eyeing my up and down. “Didn’t expect to see you here.”
I growl and storm up to him. “You asshole!” I scream, shoving him in the chest with all my strength.
He stumbles only slightly, then wraps his fingers around my neck.
The kids scream for him to let me go as Billy pins me against the wall.
"Hey! Leave her alone!" Mike yells.
Max hurries to his side and tries to pry at his arm. "Get off of her Billy!"
He easily shoves her away, causing her to fall on her ass. Lucas helps her up and pulls her away.
“Get the hell off of me!” I hiss, clawing at his hand around my neck.
“Oo, I love a feisty girl," Billy purrs, bringing his face mere inches from mine. "How about you and I go talk in private?"
You lift your knee between his legs, knocking him right in the nuts.
Billy falls to his knees with a sharp grunt. His hand slips from your neck and you sprint over to the kids to protect them.
He growls, slowly rising to his feet. “You’re so dead, you bitch!"
“No, you are!” Steve announces and punches Billy right across the face.
Billy releases a deep, evil, chuckle. “You got some fire in you after all, huh? I’ve been waiting to meet this “King Steve” they tell me so much about!" He yells.
Steve points to the door calmly. “Get. Out.”
Billy ignores his command and throws a punch. Thankfully, Steve dodges it and hits Billy again.
“Get him!” Mike cheers.
“Get the son of a bitch!” Dustin adds.
Billy grabs a plate off the counter and smashes it over Steves head, causing the boy to fall to the ground.
Amidst the chaos, I glance at the small table by the front door. The medicine needle Hopper used to subdue Will remains filled on it.
Meanwhile, Billy, picks up Steve by the collar and brings him close. “No one tells me what to do.” He then headbutts Steve, knocking him out.
I start to Billy, but Dustin tries to stop me by grabbing my wrist. I yank my arm free and run into the kitchen, snatching the spare needle in route. I raise my fist to get a punch in. "You sick son of a-"
Billy laughs and intercepts my hand. "Gonna fight me, Princess? I don't fight girls."
"Guess you're a pussy then!" I snap and jab the needle into Billy's neck.
He whinces and feels around his neck to discover the plastic bit. His features morph into pure wickedness and he charges at me. His palm slaps me across the face with such force it feels as though my eye is going to be pop out of socket.
The children yell for him to stop, but to no avail.
Billy gathers a lump of my hair in his fist and yanks me closer. "You're gonna-"
Before the threat can be completed, Billy becomes unstable on his feet, swaying from side to side. “The hell is this?” He pants.
I pry his fingers from my hair with a hiss as he tugs at the root.
He falls to his knees, starting to appear delirious.  “You bitch, what did you? What did... you... you-”
“Shove it you asshole!” I command, towering over him.
He slowly lays back onto the floor. “Screw... you...”
“Oh don't you wish you could," I fire back.
In a matter of seconds, Billy is completely knocked out and I feel like a can take a breath again, not a fulfilling one though, not yet. I won't actually be relaxed until this shit is over, and even then I won't be fully settled.
I turn to check on the kids and they all peer at me wide-eyed.
"Holy shit!" Dustin gawks at the fallen Billy.
"That was badass," Lucas adds.
Max jogs over to her older brother and digs in his pockets. She reveals his keys and gives them a jiggle. “Let’s get out of here.”
“Give those to me," I order, holding out my hand.
“But you’re hurt," she protests and points to my cheek.
I bring my hand up to not only feel my sensitive and likely to bruise skin, but also the blood coming from my lip. I sigh, "don’t worry, I got this." I take the keys from Max and turn to address the rest of the kids. "Besides, no one else can drive. Now, help me get Steve into the car before your psycho brother wakes up.”

Steve
Everything hurts. I've never woken up with a headache, but now I know it's hell. I inhale and a sharp pain aches in my ribs. My eyes begin to flicker open, but one of them is refusing to rise above halfway. I forget where I am for a second, then I slowly start to realize the last thing I remember is Billy beating the living shit out of me. As I become more conscious, I comprehend I'm nowhere freaking near the Byers house and am instead in a car.
"Wait... What's going on?" I ask.
"Shh..." Dustin purrs next to me. "It's alright, buddy." He comes into view all blurry.
"Left here!" A voice instructs from the front seat.
"Shit!" I hear Y/N shout. "Maybe a little more heads-up!"
I jump as she jolts the car to the left and I slide into Mike. "Oh my god!"
"They were gonna leave you behind. I promised that you'd be cool, okay?" Dustin tries to reason with me.
"No, no, we're not doing this!" I protest. "Turn around!"
"I told you he'd freak out!" Mike barks.
"Y/N stop the car!" I yell to her.
"Everyone shut up! I'm trying to focus!" She snaps over her shoulder.
"Right!" Max announces, studying a map closely.
"For fuck sake!" Y/N shouts, taking another sharp turn. "Are you sure this looks like-"
"Stop the car!" I scream.
Y/N ignores me and instead picks up her speed. I grip the shoulders of the front seats, trying my best to not throw up as Y/N drives like a maniac.
Y/N
I skid to a stop right before a gorge-like hole in the middle of this pumpkin field. I swear to god these kids are going to get us all killed.
"We're here..." I announce with a huff.
Everyone begins to climb out and head to the trunk where we stashed everything we'll need, goggles, flashlights, mouth coverings, gasoline, a lighter, everything. We don't know what the hell is down there, so we came ready.
"Guys!" Steve shouts as he climbs out of the car. "Oh, no. Guys!" He covers his ribs and struggles to hold himself up against the door. "Hey, where do you think you're going?" He asks as Lucas passes him with cases of gasoline toward the gorge. "What are you, deaf? Hello?" He hollers as the kids and I continue our tasks.
I grab my swords from the truck and begin to strap them to my back. No matter how many times I use them, it'll never feel normal. I also pick up Steve's bat. He may refuse to come, but there's no way I'm leaving him without a weapon.
Once everything is out, I slam the trunk shut and start toward the gorge to set up with the kids.
“I made myself clear!” Steve yells as I pass him.
“Steve!” I finally snap, causing everyone to halt. “We get it! You’re not on board with this and frankly nor am I but this is all we got! I’m not going to just sit at the Byers house waiting for those demo dogs to eat us!"
Steve sighs, combing his fingers through his hair.
"Plus, Will needs our help!” I argue, much more calmly.
“Y/N, I promised nothing would happen to you!” He challenges.
“You can’t be certain of that! I got royally screwed last year and I refuse to let it happen again," I remind him.
It feels as if the entire world goes silent as I mention what happened. Since I was attacked by the Demogorgon, Steve has never forgiven himself. A complete stranger would be able to see it. What happened wasn't his fault, but he was the reason I was at the Byers that night at all.
“Now, you can either help us or you can stand here and bitch," I tell him.
Steve gently takes his bat from me, his fingers linger over mine. “If you think for a second I’m letting you go down there by yourself you’re crazier than I thought.” He offers me a weak smile and leans in to place a quick peck to my cheek.
Mike pretends to gag. “You two are more disgusting than the dogs."
Steve is the first to climb into the gorge. I offered, but of course, he refused. I could've seen that coming. He did, however, have no objects to me being second. We'll both put ourselves in front of the children in any circumstance.
While Steve holds the end of the rope and helps the kids down, I begin to walk ahead and get an idea of what we're working with. Blue intestines, that's all I can think. Icky, sticky, blue intestine tunnels.
“Hey!” Steve hollers.
I whip my head around to see Steve pointing at me warningly. “Don’t go too far!”
Who died and made him Queen?
I mockingly salute him. “Yes sir!”
He rolls his eyes and returns his attention back to his cluster of kiddos as they file in.
“I have a map!” Mike announces, joining me a few feet ahead of the group.
“Let me see that," Steve commands, snatching the map from him. He studies it and starts to march ahead. “So, we head this way and it should lead us to a cove of sorts?”
“Basically," Mike agrees.
“We’re calling it the Hub," Dustin voices a bit too enthusiastically.
Mike starts to walk ahead and Steve immediately protests. “Woah! Woah! Pause it! Any of you little shits down here I get the blame! I’m leading the way.”
“Then I’m leading with you," I announce, marching to catch up with him.
“No, no," he counters. "If anything-”
“Take it or leave it, Harrington," I state, already annoyed with this whole thing. Dustin thinks it's a field trip, Mike wants to save the world, and Steve is acting like G.I. Joe.
“Ugh fine," he huffs. "But if anything shows up don’t pull what you did at the junkyard alright? I want you to take these little assholes and run for it. You got that?”
“No promises," I grumble, moving ahead.
“Y/N!" Steve wraps his fingers around my wrist, pulling me to a halt. "I’m serious!”
“So am I! I’m not just going to leave you down here if something happens!" I argue.
“This isn’t just about our safety anymore! We’re also responsible for them!” He points to the cluster of tweens behind us watching like we're on Days of Our Lives.
I scoff. “You don’t think I realize that? But how can you expect me to get them out of here by myself if you’re dead?”
“Hey! Guys! Shut it! We have a mission here!” Dustin barks, snapping Steve and I out of our melodrama. “You act like a married couple later.”
Steve returns his attention to me, simultaneously gliding his hand down from my wrist to interlock with mine. "You're going to be next to me the whole time, no arguing, no heroic acts. You listen to everything I say."
I grin. "Oh come on, Harrington. You know that's not my style."
___________________
We walk for what feels like forever but is likely no more than ten minutes when all of a sudden, Dustin starts to scream.
"Shit!" He cries. "Help! Help!"
We all dart back to find him on the ground coughing up a lung.
"It's in my mouth! It's in my mouth!" He panics.
"Shit!" Steve huffs.
Dustin spits and peers up at us, looking like a complete idiot. He pants, "I'm okay."
"Oh for fuck sake!" I voice, following Max as she's already walked away.
"Sorry!" Dustin whines as he rises to his feet.
We continue marching along. Steve is at the lead, map in hand and flashlight in the other. I nervously twirl my lighter between my fingers. All I can say is this little shit better work down here otherwise we're fucked.
We emerge into a large circular space that connects various tunnels. Steve steadies to a stop and we all follow suit.
"Yo Wheeler," Steve announces. "I think we found your hub."
"Let's drench it," Dustin declares.
Like rain, we begin to pour gallons upon gallons of gasoline from the center of the hub and into the tunnel where we came. I've tried to mimimize my breaths down here considering there's white floating shit in the air, but even in short breaths I can tell it smells like a soaked up gas station.
"Get ready!" Steve announces once we're down to the last drops of gas. As I pass him, he snatches the lighter from my hand. "I'll take that."
"But-"
"No buts," he practically orders. "No way in hell I'm letting you do it."
I roll my eyes and reluctantly join the kids behind him.
"I'm so screwed," Steve mumbles to himself before dropping the lighter and setting the place on fire. The tunnel becomes an inferno and I watch in awe as the fire rapidly engulfs the place.
Steve grabs my hand urgently. "Time to go!"
I hadn't noticed the kids were gone, already well ahead on their sprint until Steve pulled me from my daze.
Steve and I start running toward the gorge and I can't help but laugh a little. "Is it too late to mention I have a deadly fear of fire?"
He chuckles and holds my hand tighter. "After everything we've seen, fire is still on your list?"
His words bring a smile to my face, but the brief moment of amusement is brought to a sharp end when I'm yanked to the ground by something locked around my ankle. I hit the dirt floor with a smack and flip myself around. The jet black, slimy, branch around my ankle begins to crawl up my leg.
“Steve, Hel...Help!" I stutter, in an utter panic. "Help!”
The kids come rush back as Steve begins to wack the branch with his bat.
"Get it off! Get it off!" I plead, memories of last year flood my mind. If I get stuck down here I'm haunting these stupid kids so hard for getting me into this.
The branch cowers back from Steve's assault and frees my leg. He wraps his fingers around my forearm and yanks me to my feet. His arms then fling around me, pressing me into his chest. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
I shake my head, still catching my breath. “God, I hate this shit.”
"We gotta go!" Lucas reminds us.
Steve grips my hand and keeps me close the remainder of the way to the gorge. Loud screeches echo throughout the space and it's evident the demodogs are close. We dodge branches, and holes, all while trying to see in the misty tunnel.
When we finally reach the opening and the rope, Steve and I both agree kids go first. The screeching of the dogs becomes louder and louder with each passing second. We're all yelling at one another to hurry the hell up so we don't become an alien's dinner. First, it's max, then Lucas, Mike, and finally Dustin all up the rope. Steve practically shoves them up by the asses in a panic.
A loud shriek comes from around the corner, causing Steve and I to pause. My heart sinks, already predicting what he's going to say as he picks up his bat.
“Y/N, go!” He urges me along.
“Okay, that's not happening," I remark, yanking my swords out.
“Babe, come on! Please just listen to me for once!” He yells.
"Y/N! Hurry up!" Mike yells, offering me his hand.
I huff at Steve. "I'm not just gonna leave you when-"
I breath hitches in my throat when a pack of demodogs turn the corner right at us.
"Shit! Shit!" I squeal and set up my swords in front of me.
Abruptly, the dogs run right passed us and down the tunnel. Immediately, Steve wraps his arm around me, pulling me into his chest. I hide my face in his neck, utterly losing my mind. I cling to his chest and never wish to leave. I wait for the dogs to realize their mistake and turn around to eat us. When that doesn't occur and their screeching fades into the distance, I lift my head slowly.
Steve is already peering down the tunnel where they went with a furrowed brow. Both of us are catching our breath, still left utterly confused.
“Eleven," Mike mutters from above.
Steve eyes flicker down to meet mine and slowly I'm brought down from that panic attack. Without any word or warning, Steve slams his lips to mine. I drop my swords and drape my arms over his shoulders, deepening the kiss. There's nothing quite like dying to make people realize their priorities and act on impulse.
The kids groan above us, causing Steve and I to chuckle, but don't stop in the slightest. When we finally break for breath, Steve and I rest our foreheads against each other.
"Never try to make me leave you like that again," I whisper, caressing his cheek.
He peers into my eyes pleadingly. "I just couldn't live with myself if anything ever happened to you... You're... You're everything to me... God, I love you so much, Y/N."
"I love you too," I tell him wholeheartedly. "Which is exactly why I could never leave you."
He nods and presses his lips to mine, this time gently and comfortingly.
God, I love Steve more than anything. I couldn't imagine risking my life on multiple occasions for anyone else.

Hey, I enjoyed reading your West Side Story fics! Just wondering, how did you do the Spanish dialogue? I’m no expert, just curious
I know a little bit of Spanish from taking a couple years of classes I am however no means an expert either. I’m certain there are mistakes I haven’t really double checked my translations :)

An Electric Connection (6/?)
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Female!Reader
Warnings: mild language, mentions of abuse, mentions of anxiety, mild violence
Word Count: 4.1k
Part Summary: It's the spring semester, Y/N and Eddie are still going strong. Their sneaking around has worked so far, but as their relationship develops, so does their want to protect each other.

Almost four months later...
It's nearing the end of your time at Hawkins High. Since that one night in December, you and Eddie have been... Well... seeing each other. Sneaking around, hidden glances, notes tucked into each other's lockers, empty classroom meet-ups, they're what consist of your relationship. Though, the base of your time together is spent at Eddie's trailer or at your house whenever your parents are already in bed or out of town, which is quite often. Any spare chance you two have you spend together. It's taken a lot of work, planning, and some lying to make it this long without getting caught. It's been difficult to say the least but definitely worth it.
The Friday of the basketball championship crept up on you faster than you'd wished. You've spent nearly two weeks working on the half-time routine with Chrissy. Your after-school time has been dedicated to choreographing and practices. It's been bittersweet as you get to cherish the last bit of your cheer experience at Hawkins with your friends, but you miss spending those hours with Eddie.
Chance picked you up for school as he does an average day. The ride to school was painfully silent and tense, mainly because you didn't go to the movies last night with everyone. A night at the mall getting dinner at the food court and catching a movie with your friends doesn't sound terrible by any means, but last night was one of the few opportunities you had to see Eddie this week. So, you took it. If Chance's silent treatment during the ride to school wasn't a clear enough indication of his frustration with your absence at yet another social gathering, him pulling you into the alley between the main building and the gym is pretty evident. He practically has you trapped against the wall with his hand pressed to the brick beside your head.
"Where were you last night?" He asks.
You cross your arms over your chest, feeling small in his presence. "I told you already. I was working on the routine for tonight at home."
He scoffs, giving you a sarcastically amused grin. "Are you getting sassy with me now?"
You sigh, not wanting to fight yet again. "Chance-"
"I stopped by your house with Jason and Chrissy just to check and see if you'd changed your mind, your mom said you weren't there," he snaps.
Your heart sinks as you stare into his stern gaze. You feel caught, but you can't break now, not after making it months without him figuring out the truth. If he were to find out... let's just say it wouldn't be pretty.
"Oh, so you're following me around now?" You fireback. "You probably just went while I ran to the store or something.”
He rolls his eyes and pushes off the wall. "You're acting different, Y/N, and not in a good way!"
"Why?" You scoff. "Because I'm not waiting on you hand and foot or running at your beck and call anymore!"
Right as the words fall from your lips, Chance presses his body against yours and grabs your face, squeezing it tightly. "Now, listen to me!"
You direct your eyes away, toward the crowd of students as they start to file into school, utterly oblivious to your altercation.
"This is how it's gonna go," Chance whispers, mere inches from your cheek. "You're going to stop acting all high and mighty, lying to my face, and be the nice girlfriend I know you can be. Got it? I won't be made a fool of." He releases your face with a minor jolt. A soft warmth rushes to the spots where his fingers gripped and you're certain it may bruise.
"Hey, lovebirds!" Chrissy pops up from around the corner, all cheery. "Sorry to interrupt," she apologizes as she takes your hand. "But I need to borrow my captain."
Chance puts on a convincing smile. "I get it." He pecks your cheek and pretends nothing's wrong. "See you later, Babe!"
Chrissy locks arms with you, guiding toward the cheerleaders gathered outside the gym. You glance over your shoulder to see Chance keeping an eye on you as he strolls over to join the other basketball players a few feet away.
“I hope we win. If we don’t Jason will be devastated," Chrissy expresses with a slight annoyance.
You turn your attention back to her with a nod. “Chance hasn’t stopped talking about it so if we win he’ll talk about it more and if we lose we’ll act like it never happened… is it bad if I kinda want us to lose?”
Chrissy chuckles as you two arrive at the squad. She begins to warm up and you follow her lead. Your mind is still stuck on the brutal interaction you just had with Chance. He's been like this all year, long before Eddie. He's controlling, and overbearing, but then he apologizes profusely and spoils you. You never know which Chance you're going to get.
Meanwhile, Eddie is leaning against a light pole in the parking lot smoking a cigarette with the rest of the Hellfire Club. None of them are exactly as eager as the rest of the students to head to the pep rally. His eyes have been locked on you since he noticed you turn the corner with Chrissy. He watches as Chance kept his eyes on you like a hawk. He noted the way you glanced back with worried expression, it made his breath hitch for a second.
"Take a picture why don't you," Dustin teases.
"You're more likely to become President than have a chance with her," Gareth adds.
All of their eyes have now diverted to you as you stretch for the pep rally. You bring your leg up against the brick wall like a gymnast, leaving all of the boys in Hellfire wide-eyed.
Eddie pushes off the light post and tosses his cigarette bud to the pavement before smashing it with his boot. Without a word, he walks off toward you.
"He has a death wish," Mike mumbles and receives various sounds of agreement from the group.
Eddie whistles at you as he approaches with a cocky grin.
“Oh for God’s sake," you groan, rolling your eyes dramatically in the process.
Chrissy steps away, not wanting anything to do with him.
He leans against the wall beside your leg "Didn’t know you so… flexible, Princess.”
You swiftly bring it down with a huff. “Thought I told you to stay away from my squad?”
“Just spreading some encouragement," he remarks sarcastically.
Your annoyance is all pretend, of course. You're always ecstatic to see Eddie, but you can't show it. Since the beginning, you two have continued to act as though you hardly know each other and can't stand to be in the other's presence. Your back-and-forth jabs and banter are key to that.
“Oh, so now you choose to show some school spirit, when you’re finally graduating," you question, crossing your arms over your chest.
“Graduating is still… up for debate," he chuckles and pushes off the wall to stand mere inches from you. “Let’s just say I’ve found some… tolerable aspect about being in this shit hole every day. For example, I’m looking forward to seeing you shake it at the pep rally.” He smirks, then bites down on his lip.
You grin, despite your best efforts to suppress it. Geez, he doesn't play fair when he does that. “You, at a pep rally?”
“Believe me, if I didn’t already have Principal Higgins on my ass threatening another suspension I’d skip," he admits, then leans in to whisper in your ear. “Not too upset seeing you perform though… I’ll imagine it’s just for me…”
Suddenly, Eddie is yanked from you. Your head whips to the side to see Chance slamming him against the wall. “I thought I warned you about messing with my girlfriend, Freak!”
Eddie chuckles, holding his hands up. “I’d be careful there, dude. Can’t toss balls into laundry baskets with a broken fist.”
Immediately, you run up between them and grip Chance's jacket sleeve. “Chance! Baby, stop! He isn’t worth it!”
A crowd of curious students forms around you all. Eddie's buddies come rushing up but steady to a halt when Jason and the rest of the team appear. If this escalates, a fight between Hellfire and the basketball team will ensue and that's exactly what neither you or Eddie wanted.
Jason runs up to Chance and tries to yank him off. “Bro, cool off!”
Chrissy pulls you away, afraid you may be caught in the crossfire if any punches are thrown.
“Yeah, listen to your fearless leader there Chancey-boy," Eddie mocks, only egging on the situation.
“Shove it, Freak!” Chance threatens, pressing his fists into Eddie more.
“Believe me, if tonight wasn’t happening I’d be helping him kick your ass!” Jason adds.
A minute that feels like a thousand years goes by and Chance finally reluctantly releases Eddie with a shove.
Eddie brushes down his denim vest and glances over at you. “Later, Princess," he says and offers you a cheeky wink.
You scoff, pretending to be utterly disgusted as you cling to Chrissy. Eddie knows the truth. The truth is that you would've gladly put yourself between him and Chance, never allowing anything to happen to Eddie. The stereotype that the cheerleader and metalhead can't get along is a bunch of crap you two act out every day because in reality you two have fallen for each other.
The crowd sighs annoyed that there wasn't a decent fight. Eddie disappears into the cluster of students with his buddies unscathed.
Chance marches over to you and pulls you aside. His nails dig into your bicep, but you mask your pain with a blank expression to avoid concerning your friends.
"I thought I told you not to talk to Freaks like him!" He whispers between you.
"He came up to me!" You argue quietly.
"Well maybe don't give him a reason to talk to you!" He fires back.
You narrow your gaze at him, appalled. "What's that supposed to mean? You know he likes to mess with me because I'm your girlfriend and cheer captain!"
Chance continues to berate you. You roll your eyes away from him and they linger about the parking lot. Chance's voice fades out of your consciousness as your sight lands on Eddie. From his previous spot at the light post, his eyes meet yours with a furrowed brow. Concern is etched all over his face as he smokes another cigarette.
"Enough dramatics!" Jason's voice breaks you from your daze.
Chance finally shuts up as Jason slings an arm over his shoulders. “Ready to head in?” The basketball captain asks.
Chrissy pops up beside you with a warm grin, utterly oblivious to your troubles.
"Totally!" Chance smiles and takes your hands in his. "Ready, Babe?"
“Yeah." You offer him a weak smile, playing along with the charade. After all, what's another one to add to the list?
Chrissy and Jason lead the way hand-in-hand. Meanwhile, Chance leans down and pecks your cheek. "I'm sorry, Babe. I don't know why I get so worked up. Forgive me?" He peers into your eyes with a puppy dog look as he's done a thousand times.
"Of course," you reply, only to keep the peace.
Internally, all you can think about is how a bunch of bullshit it is.
——————————————————-
As you wait at the picnic table in the woods, your mind can't shake the memory of this morning. Your leg has been shaking all day, a new habit of your anxiety. Since last December you've spent a lot of time at this spot. You remember feeling so on edge being here. Now, you sit on top of the table, feet on the bench, and wait for Eddie at least once a week. You tell Chrissy and everyone you're either studying in the library or going to a review session with one of your teachers. The peace and isolation of the woods break up your day of constantly being surrounded by people. Especially after the dramatics at the start of the day you need a break.
A pair of hands cover your eyes, making the world go dark.
“You’re late," you remark.
“I know, I know,” Eddie sighs and moves to sit down beside you. “Apologizes. More dramatics within the club.”
“Lost a dye?” You tease.
“Ha… haha….” Eddie deadpans. "Actually Sinclair has to miss tonight for the 'big game' and refuses to skip. Sounds a little familiar..."
"I'm Captain," you argue. "It's kind of an obligation for me to go. Besides, you’ll be at your meeting.”
"But if you didn’t have cheer practices after school all week we could’ve hung out more…” He reminds you with a playful pout.
"Eddie..." You drag out.
"Sorry Babe," he apologizes and pecks your cheek. "I guess I'm just a little frazzled because I have to wait until after tonight to actually have some alone time with you and you'll be around your boyfriend of all people..."
"I won’t even have a second to talk with Chance. Besides, we're alone now," you remind him, slipping your hand into his.
"You know what I mean," he mutters, giving you a knowing look.
"It'll fly by," you promise. "We'll meet up right after the game and your meeting. Then, I'm all your's. Your place, some movies, just the two of us. My friends think I’m out to dinner with my parents and I told my mom I was staying at Chrissy's house after the party. So I’ll be all yours…” You assure him and lean in to gently press your lips to his.
It feels like ages since you've kissed, but in reality, you did when Eddie dropped you off late last night.
Eddie breaks from you suddenly. “Before I forget, I have a deal after school but I’ll call you when I get home.”
Your brows scrunch together in confusion. “Deal? With who?”
“Princess, you know I can’t tell you that.”
You grin and lean into him, growing curious. “Someone I know?”
Again, he gives you a knowing smirk.
You huff. “I know, I know, customer confidentiality.”
"Exactly, good girl," he whispers as he brushes his lips against yours before bringing them into a kiss.
You wish you had more time. This week as been practically intolerable with how little you've seen one another.
"That was a rather gutsy act you pulled this morning," you express against his lips.
Eddie grins. "Who says it was an act? I genuinely love how flexible you are."
You giggle and bring your hand up behind his neck, pulling him in to deepen the kiss.
"But since we're talking about this morning..." Eddie mutters as he pulls back.
Your eyes lock and you wonder where he's going with this.
He sighs, "the way Chance was talking to you after the-"
Before he finishes, you release his hand and hop down from the table. You already know what he's going to say and you don't want to hear it. You begin to pace as your arms cross in front of you. If Eddie learns the sometimes hostile circumstances of your relationship it'll only make things worse.
He huffs, gripping the edge of the table. "I was debating on saying anything because I was sure it would upset you, but Y/N... that's not normal behavior." Eddie tries to speak with you calmly, not to push you away, but he's also terribly concerned. It's not the first time he's seen you two argue, but he's also not seen the worst of it.
"We were just talking!" You argue with a dismissive laugh.
"Maybe you were! But a blind person would be able to tell he was pissed!" He debates.
You scoff, tossing your head back. "Oh my god-"
Eddie grows frustrated and tries to remain calm, but his tone becomes sharper. "Look, I'm not saying this to argue with you. I'm just-"
You pause your pacing. "You're what, Eddie? What? It's Chance! He's had everything handed to him his entire life! He's entitled! It's nothing!"
Eddie rises to his feet, towering over you from the bench. "You say that, but this morning certainly didn't look like nothing!" His voice travels in a shout.
His chest rises and falls rapidly as the woods once again becomes silent. You simply stare up at him with a blank expression. If you cry, he'll apologize and think he's right. If you dismiss him, he'll yell again, and you're back to square one. So, you do nothing.
Eddie sighs, rubbing his hands across the back of his neck. His eyes fall to the ground and he struggles to express his thoughts. "Does... Has he ever... you know?"
"What?" You press.
"Hit you, Y/N!" He snaps, locking eyes with you again with a frown. "Does he hit you?"
Your lips part, stunned by his directness. "I...I...No..." You stutter, not sounding at all convincing. "No! No, of course, he doesn't!" You restate more confidently.
Chance has never hit you. He may grab your arm too tightly or raise his voice at you, but he's never hit you.
"Do you think I would ever-" You stop yourself, already knowing his answer. He wouldn't be asking you unless he thought you would. "I wouldn't stay with him if he did!" You argue.
The warning bell rings in the distance, signaling the end of lunch.
“Oh shit!" You panic, rushing over to the table to grab your things. "I’m supposed to-“
“Meet Chance and walk together to History…” Eddie finishes, plopping back down on the table.
Your eyes meet his with a rush of guilt. You hate to end things here, but it isn't much you can do. If you're late, Chance will only be more upset and you don't think you could handle another incident. Plus, he'll suspect something if you're late considering you said you were only in the library.
Eddie offers you a weak but genuine smile and brings his hand up to caress your cheek. “I’ll see you in there.”
You nod and lean in to give him a quick peck. You then rest your forehead against his, peering into his eyes. "I know you're only concerned, but I'm okay. Promise."
He nods, but his broken features say otherwise.
It nearly kills you to leave him like this. God, you care about him so much it pains you. You hate seeing him upset.
"We'll talk tonight," you assure him as you break apart.
He hums and you head on your way. Your pace is brisker than your usual partings as you're in a rush to make it to class before the next bell, which gives you exactly five minutes.
Eddie lingers behind, not giving a shit whether he's on time or not. He brings his head into his hands with a sigh. He's been meaning to bring up the conversation of you and Chance, but frankly never had the balls to do it. "Fucking dammit!" He shouts, slamming his boot down on the bench. The frustration toward himself for not stepping in, toward Chance for treating you that way, and toward the whole situation, in general, all reaching a brutal peak.
———————————
After school, you stop at the Family Video as you've planned all week. Tonight, despite what happened at lunch, will be nice with Eddie. You'll watch a movie... okay maybe the first ten minutes and finally spend some quality time together. You won't be rushing around or constantly checking the time so you're not late to practice. You'll have all night together after his meeting and the game. Most importantly, things will settle down and go back to the way they were before today.
The bell digs above the door as you step inside the familiar store.
An unsuspecting Steve begins to greet you from behind the counter. “Welcome to Fam-" His words are cut off when he looks up from the computer to see you standing there.
“Hi ya, Harrington," you grin as you approach the counter.
“Oh,” he laughs nervously, causing Robin to look at him funny from the shelf she's reorganizing. “Hi Y/N. Uh, how… How have you been?” He stammers.
“Pretty good. You?”
“You know, same old, same old," he shrugs. Then, perks up to try and act more natural. “Can I, uh, help you find anything?”
“Well for starters, don’t let me rent Back to the Future again," you giggle and take a quick glance about the store. “Edd… Chance…" You correct. "Refuses to watch it for the millionth time.”
"Okay yeah, sure, I'll be right with you once I finish this up!" Steve offers.
As you start to stroll about the closest shelves, Robin hurries over to the counter. "You handled that well," she mocks in a whisper.
"Oh shut up," Steve grumbles, unable to take his eyes off of you.
"Suggest Valley Girl! I bet she'll connect with it," she adds.
Steve glares at her as he emerges from behind the counter to join you. "What are you looking for?" He asks, peering over your shoulder as you skim the cover of E.T.
You shrug and place the movie back, having seen it a dozen times. "Something different I guess. Something I haven't seen before."
Steve hums. The hundreds of movie titles in the store shuffle through his mind. Then, the perfect on pops up and he disappears into the aisles.
You move on to the comedies. Lord knows you and Eddie could use a laugh after today.
Steve returns with a confident grin and reveals a VHS from behind his back. "How about this?"
You take the device and peer at it. "The Shining?"
"Already a classic," he notes.
"Isn't it terrifying?" You question, wondering if it's really best for tonight. Though, Eddie would totally be into it no matter the circumstances.
"Yep, so I suggest watching it with someone." He points out as he rocks on his heels.
"Will it give me nightmares?" You partially joke, meeting his chocolate brown eyes.
"Depends." He smirks, narrowing his gaze at you knowingly. "Do you scare easily?"
You lick your lips and think it over. Little do you know the action melts Steve like a popsicle in July. He's been into you since you first walked into the store last summer in your rolled-up baby blue Adidas shorts and cropped Hawkins High t-shirt. You made Farrah Fawcett look like a has-been.
"No," you determine confidently.
"Then you'll be fine," Steve assures and leans in with a grin. "Promise."
"Thanks, Harrington." You smile.
"What I'm here for." He winks before he waves for you to walk with him over to the counter to check out.
You set down the VHS and rest your forearms on the counter. “So, are you coming tonight?”
“Well, I was thinking about… maybe…” He states casually as he types in your information.
“You should! I remember how good you were on the team, could be a little nostalgic and I’m sure the boys would love it," you gush.
“I thought you were taking what’s her name to the game as a date?” Robin pipes in from her spot a few steps away.
Steve hisses. “Robin-“
“Oh, a date?" You giggle. "Guess I shouldn’t be surprised. Who’s the lucky gal?”
Robin chuckles at Steve's glare, loving the rise she gets out of him.
“Just someone who comes in a lot," he grumbles, dismissing it.
“I’ll be excited to see her," you tell him, eager to see who's next on his long list of dates.
"Yeah, well..." Steve forces a small smile before dropping it, not too thrilled to have his crush meeting just some girl he asked out to pass time with. The time he'd usually spend thinking about you. He tosses your VHS into a Family Dollar bag and slides it across the counter. “You’re all set.”
“Thanks! So, see you both tonight," you look between Steve and Robin as you head to the door with a wave.
Right as the bell above the door dings, Steve drops his forehead to the counter with a groan.
Robin breaks out laughing. “I can’t believe you’re all bothered over that walking stereotype."
“She’s not a stereotype, alright," he defends, picking himself up again. "She’s just super nice… and smart… and pretty….” He could go on and on, but he knows it's falling on deaf ears.
“Ugh, kill me," Robin groans, tossing her head back.
Steve bites down on his lip as an idea pops into his head. “Is she still seeing-"
“Yeah! They're still dating.” Robin answers over her shoulder, knowing exactly where he's going with this. “You might as well just get in line.”
Steve huffs and runs his fingers through his hair. She's right, he needs to get over you. He knows he does. You've been with Chance for what feels like forever and despite him acting like a complete fool whenever you're around you've never seemed to notice his massive crush on you. Steve knows he just needs to let it go.

Your fingertips glide over a denim jacket and your mind wanders to Eddie. 'What's he doing? Is he thinking about me?' All of these questions and more enter your thoughts. You haven't been able to go five minutes without thinking about it. Now, looking at this distressed denim jacket on the hanger, it reminds you of him. The one he keeps on his dresser with all of the badges and pins.
“Y/N!"
You hum and whip your head around to see Chrissy holding up a yellow plaid skirt.
“I ask if you liked this?” She repeats with furrowed brows.
“Oh, uh… yeah!" You stammer. "It’s uh... It's very… yellow.”
"No it is then," she concludes before placing it back on the rack. “You okay?” She questions with a curious look in her eye.
You hum and move on to the next section, hoping she won't ask any more questions.
“We missed you at the party last night."
You sigh. “I know, I’m sorry. I wasn’t really in the mood. I was so tired and could use the sleep.”
“I get that. I feel like I’ve been drowning lately," she expresses, much to your surprise. Her blank expression morphs into a soft smile. “Well, if we win the championship next Friday then there will definitely be a reason to celebrate and you must come.”
“Deal." You offer her a smile in return but remain stuck on her prior confession.
Meanwhile, Eddie is across down in Garth's garage trying to remain present at the practice, but his mind is keeping him occupied. Memories of last night continue to force themselves to his consciousness. Your touch lingers on his skin and all he wants to do is see you. When he starts thinking about this morning in the van, he can feel his dick getting harder and the last thing he needs is for the band to notice.
“Yo man," Garth calls out, gaining the attention of everyone. "You’ve been off all afternoon, what’s going on?”
Eddie clears his throat nervously and moves to his spot by his mic. “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.”
Jeff scoffs. “If you say you’re on shrooms again-”
Eddie scrunches his brows together. “No, no, it’s not that.”
“What then?” Garth presses.
“Nothing, never mind," Eddie dismisses with a shake of his head. "Let’s just play, alright?"
“Okay then…” Jeff mumbles, glancing at Garth.
They share a curious look and wonder what the hell is up with their friend. Eddie is usually up everyone else's ass to get themselves together for practice. Yet, today, he's completely out of it and in some sort of daze they can't pinpoint.
——————————
Chrissy leaves your house at exactly 6:30 as planned. Then, true to his word, Eddie rings your doorbell at exactly 6:55. You practically run to the door, but calm down before you make yourself look like an absolute fool. You swing open the massive mahogany door with a grin. Eddie stands at the top of your stairs with a smirk.
“Hey you," you greet.
"Hey, Princess."
Eagerly, you grab his wrist and pull him inside. He chuckles and wraps his arms around you. Before any more conversation, you press your lips together, having longed to do it again all day.
"I brought something for you," he mumbles against your lips.
"Tiffany necklace? Brand new car?" You list jokingly.
He chuckles, "not quite." He pulls back and reveals something black from behind his back. "For you."
You take it hesitantly and begin to unfold it. As the letters on the front reveal themselves, you realize it's his Led Zepplin t-shirt. Instantly, your smile grows brighter and you peer up at him. Gleaming, you jump forward and drape your arms over his shoulders. He catches you in a bear hug.
You peck his lip and can't lose the grin etched on your face. “Missed you."
“Not as much as I missed you," he guarantees and kisses you again. “The boys kept giving me shit because I couldn’t focus.”
You snicker. “Same with Chrissy.”
“Sounds like we gotta be more subtle if this is gonna stay our little secret," he concludes with a sigh.
You nod. If things are to remain calm and not turn into a complete Hellfire vs. basketball team bloodbath, being discrete is crucial. Now that you think about it, it's very Romeo and Juliet-esk
“So, my tour?” Eddie questions.
You giggle and step back from his embrace. "Follow me," you instruct and take his hand. “The foyer, dining room, my dad's office," you list from your spot in the entry way. “Kitchen and family through there," you point toward the archway directly ahead. You turn around and start walking backward up the stairs. “Now, my favorite part of the house...upstairs..."
"Favorite party?" Eddie questions with a raised brow.
You shrug, "technically, my favorite part is the pool and hot tub out back, but I was sorta hoping to show you my room.”
He smirks at her insinuation. "I'm all your's."
As you two enter your bedroom, Eddie takes it all in. It's exactly as he imagined it, well, close. He never pinpointed any colors specifically, but he knew it would be pastel, florally, and most of all extravagant. The light baby blue walls, the white upholstered headboard, and all-white matching duvet, yep looks like a princess's room. The pieces that make it look less like a catalog and more like a teen girl's room are the posters of the cheer squad, Hawkins High dances, but most importantly Rob Lowe and Johnny Depp. Your matching white vanity has its mirrored covered in polaroids, ranging from just you to photos of you and Chance or with a whole bunch of Populars.
“I know, it looks like a scene from a Pottery Barn catalog," you joke. "You can thank my mom.”
Eddie laughs and his eyes wander to your bookshelf. Half of it is books and the other is full of records or tapes.
"Oh! What’d you think of the album?" You remember as you walk over to your walk-in closet. You disappear for a second to hang up Eddie's shirt as he looks around.
"I liked it, ten out of ten!” He answers as he scans your collection.
"See, knew it!” You giggle.
"Got anything else I should listen to?" He asks, noting a few familiar names, but nothing quite his taste, but who knows, you might surprise him again.
You emerge from your closet and join him. “I could make you a mix tape," you offer.
You don't think much of it, but to Eddie, music is everything. You offering to make him a tape is like buying him a promise ring.
He nods casually. "No yeah, cool." He tries to play it cool, but inside he's completely dying.
You reach up and peck his cheek, earning a smile from him. “In the meantime...” you slip your hand into his and start back toward your door. “I have something we could do…”
You lead Eddie downstairs and through the remainder of the house to your sliding back door. Your parents insist on leaving the hot tub on, even in the winter months. You're not complaining, it does come in handy, like right now when all you want is to see Eddie Munson in his boxers again.
You turn to the boy with a mischievous smirk. “What do you say, Munson?”
He releases a breathless chuckle and starts to remove his jacket. “Is that even a question?”
You snicker. “I’ll grab towels and something from the liquor cabinet."
On the way to your dad's stash in the dining room, you turn on the speaker system that travels throughout the house. A little rock radio will surely make Eddie feel right at home.
One benefit of your parents always being gone for one reason or another, is there's rarely anyone to tell you no. Living in your dad's tech-obsessed house rent-free definitely has its pros.
When you return with towels and a bottle of your dad's whiskey, Eddie is already in the hot tub relaxing. His eyes have since fallen shut and clearly, he's in need of it. He hears you shut the screen door and lifts his head.
“This feels like a fancy hotel!" He gushes.
“Am I the hot poolside waitress?” You grin, setting down the towels on the nearby chair.
You slip your t-shirt over your head and place it on the side table. Unbeknownst to you, Eddie watches from the hot tub. Your black braw clings to you and Eddie's lips part with a sharp inhale. His brows rise and he tries his best to not completely embarrass himself in front of you. Little does he know you watched him last night and had the same exact reaction. Casually, you begin to yank down your jeans, revealing your matching panties. Eddie rolls his eyes, knowing this may be the end of him.
Once you've climbed inside the hot tub, Eddie guides you to straddle his lap. This is exactly what you wanted all day, just you two, no one else, and peace. You brush some strands back from his cheeks gently.
"The boys were frustrated with me today because I couldn't focus," he admits with a slight blush to his cheek.
You snicker. "Really and what did you say?"
"Nothing. They wouldn't believe me if I told them," he chuckles.
"Same thing with Chrissy," you confess as your eyes fall to his tatted chest. "She could tell I was a little out of it."
Eddie tucks his fingers under your chin, urging you to meet his jet-black gaze. "We're gonna have a lot less time to hang out during the week. I guess I have to give you some thoughts to fill your head to satisfy you." He reaches up and presses his lips to yours.
Your hips roll forward, needing the friction. God, you want him so bad you'd just about anything.
Eddie grips your waist and guides you back until eventually, you're doing a slow rocking motion. Beneath you, you feel him getting harder against your panties.
You comb your fingers through his hair and tug at the root, earning a deep moan from him.
Right when you feel ready to take things to the next level, your doorbell rings. You and Eddie practically jump apart, causing the water in the hot tub to wave about. You both pant, struggling to catch your breath. Your eyes locked on the house.
"Expecting someone?" He asks.
"No..." You state with a hesitant curiosity. You start to climb out and grab a towel. "Stay here."
"You sure?" He checks, slightly concerned.
"No yeah, it's probably nothing," you assure him as you wrap the towel around yourself. "Plus, how do I explain you?"
"Yeah, fair enough," he complies.
You shuffle toward the front of your house. Who in the hell is showing up randomly on a Saturday night? Everyone, you're friends with should be at the mall, bowling alley or the abandoned Benny's Burgers where everyone parties.
You swing open your front door and are shocked to see Chance standing on your front porch. Your heart immediately sinks and your pulse begins to race.
He meets your gaze with a grin. "Hey, Baby"
"Uh, hey!" You manage to greet, but remain stunned.
He steps forward and gives you a quick peck. "Was in the neighborhood and was wondering if you wanted to get some dinner."
"Oh uh-" You glance over your shoulder, praying to God Eddie doesn't decide to check on you.
"You know, you really shouldn’t answer the door in a towel," Chance suggests. "You never who it could be."
You adjust your hair, bringing it forward over your shoulders. You had forgotten you were in a towel. The surprise of seeing Chance sorta tops that. "No yeah, I was just in the shower. I guess I didn't think about it..."
His brows scrunch together with a chuckle. "You got here quick. Surprised you could hear it from your room.
You kick yourself. You're a shit liar.
"Oh, well I just got out," you try to cover. "No yeah, I was already out and was in the kitchen."
"Gotcha, well I can wait if you wanna grab something to eat," he offers.
Shit. Shit. Shit.
"I'm sorry," you sigh. "I totally would but with exams coming up, dance and application deadlines, I don’t want to get off track. I'm kinda using the quiet time with my parents gone to really isolate myself and focus."
The disappointment is hard to miss on Chance's features, but he does his best to mask it with a weak smile. "Oh okay, yeah, no worries. Proud of you, Baby." He gives you a quick peck on the cheek and heads down the steps. Then, he turns around. "So, see you Monday? Pick you up?"
"Definitely. Bye, drive safe!" You wave.
"Bye, Babe, love you." He winks.
You blow him a kiss as you always do. He jogs off back to his car parked in the driveway. As soon as he's in, you shut the door behind you. A subtle sense of relief rushes over you that he was convinced, but lying to him knocked you through a loop.
You start to head back to the backyard in a daze.
Chance is a good guy. He's supportive and accommodating.
You glide open the backdoor with an absentminded look that doesn't go unnoticed by Eddie. Instead of stepping out, you stand frozen in the doorway.
Chance went out of his way tonight to see if you wanted to go on a date. What kind of teenage boy does that?
The guilt and shame are starting to grumble you into pieces. Needing a minute, you spin on your heels and start to hurry toward the steps. Eddie rushes up from his spot and climbs out after you. He chases you all the way up the stairs and back to your bedroom. He hears you slam a door and realizes it's to your bathroom when he spots your towel laying just outside.
"Y/N?" He mutters and tries to door to find it locked. "Y/N, you okay? Who was at the door?"
You press your palms to the counter, staring at yourself in the mirror. This isn't you. You're clean-cut, honest, and hardworking. You don't... you don't go around cheating on your boyfriend of years with a drug-dealing metalhead.
The silence is killing Eddie. He knocks on the door, growing impatient with each passing minute. "Y/N, could you please at least answer me? You're making me nervous." When you don't respond, he presses his forehead against the door and pleads with you. "Babe, please..."
After a minute, you unlock the door and step passed him into your room.
"Who was it?" He asks.
You collect your towel off the floor and toss it onto your vanity chair. "Take a lucky guess," you remark with a snarky tone.
It doesn't take long for Eddie to piece it together based on your reaction. "Oh..." He mumbles, his eyes falling to the ground.
You snicker sarcastically as you begin to pace. Anxiously, you fidget with your fingers. You're a horrible person. You're doing everything you disapprove of and worse you didn't care until you saw Chance.
Eddie sighs, "Well did he see me or-"
"No, he didn't have a clue," you rush out.
Eddie feels a giant weight lift off his chest. At least he's not getting his ass kicked anytime soon.
"That's probably why I'm feeling like absolute shit right now," you express as your eyes remain locked on the floor.
Eddie rushes over to you and grips your shoulders, putting your pacing to a halt. "What he doesn’t know can’t hurt him!"
You yank his hands off of you. "But it’s killing me! It didn't really hit me until I saw him standing there on my front porch utterly oblivious and so willing to go out of his way to make time for me..." Your chest rises and falls rapidly as you stare into Eddie's eyes. A part of you wishes to cling to him, but the other knows deep down it's wrong. "I don't lie, Eddie! I hate it! I hate hurting people and here I am lying and cheating and-"
"Then forget about it!" He cups your face in his hands pleadingly.
You bring your hand up to lay on top of his and lean into his touch. You know it's the worst betrayal, but Eddie's warm touch eases your mind like the strongest drug.
"Just for a little bit... forget about it," he whispers.
Your eyes fall shut and Eddie leans down, brushing his lips against yours. "Eddie…" you whisper as a weak protest.
"Just allow yourself to relax for a minute," he instructs softly. "You’re so wired all the time, Princess. Relax, let me handle everything for a little…" He presses his lips to yours more aggressively and you don't fight him.
Your arms drape his shoulders, deepening the kiss. You're breaking all of yours morals, but you can't resist him.
Eddie walks you back until the back of your thighs hit your bed. You scoot back, never breaking from him. He hovers above you and moves his lips down to your neck. You rest on your bed as your lips part with a soft gasp.
“Is this okay?” He whispers against your collarbone.
You hum, too focused on the feeling to care.
Eddie's rough hands roam your body freely. Your eyes flutter shut as his lips travel from your neck and down to my chest on a slow trail. His fingers slip around your back and begin to fidget with the clasp of your bra, undoing it effortlessly. You slip your arms out from the clothing and Eddie tosses it aimlessly onto the floor. He wastes no time gliding the tip of his tongue down your chest to your tit, causing you to gasp.
Desperately, your fingers travel down his tatted chest to the rim of his boxers. Over the fabric, you begin to rub your hand over his already rock-hard dick. It's ungodly how turned on Eddie can make you and he can do it with little effort.
“Shit Y/N," he breathes against your chest.
Growing eager, you change courses and slip your fingers into his boxers. The still wet fabric clings to his skin.
Eddie grips your wrist, pausing your efforts. “Hold on, Baby. I was supposed to be focusing on you."
His glossy ink eyes meet yours and you can't help but beg for him. “Please...”
He chuckles nervously and his eyes squeeze shut. “Oh no, God, don’t say that.”
Comprehending the reason behind his words, you use your free hand to start where you left off. “Why not?” You question innocently, taking his dick in your hand.
His grip tightens around your wrist pleadingly. “Because if you do I won’t have the willpower to say no.”
Amused by the power you have over him, you giggle. His eyes remain shut as he desperately tries to concentrate on not cumming in your hand.
You reach up and begin to suck on his neck, determined to leave a mark.
“Oh for fucks sake," Eddie moans.
You take advantage of his distracted state and urge him to lay down beside you. In one swift motion, you lift yourself up and straddle him.
“Y/N…” He mumbles as his hands find your waist.
You peer up at him as you start to kiss down his chest. “Please…”
He drops his head down on the mattress, reluctantly giving in. His willpower holding on by a thread. “You’re no Princess. You’re evil," he whispers.
You giggle and continue your pursuit. You love pleasing Eddie and seeing him become utterly defenseless under your touch. His loud and intimidating demeanor fading all because of you. The idea of him cumming in your mouth is enough to get you wet.
Eddie urges you back so he can sit up. His arms wrap around you, hugging your bare chest to his. “Well you relaxed quickly," he grins. "Finally actually listen to me for once.” His eyes fall to your lips as he runs his thumb across the bottom. “I knew there was another side to you.”
You nod, on the verge of losing your mind if you don't get some sort of relief. Hungrily, you slam your lips to his, desperate to feel him. Your nails graze his chest, leaving thin red lines. Eddie groans at the sensation, wishing he could fuck you senseless.
“How about I make you feel good and then I’ll do anything you say?” You mumble against his lips as you attempt to slip his boxers off.
As he did before, he grips your wrist, bringing to his chest. “No, no, no,” he instructs. “Easy.”
You sit back, meeting his gaze with a pout. “Seriously!”
He sighs. “No, no, don’t do that.”
Despite his request, you continue to pout unapologetically, though outwardly you pretend to be utterly innocent.
Eddie huffs, bringing his hand to your jaw, squeezing your cheeks slightly. “Aw come on, that’s not fair," he argues.
"Punish me then..." The foreign phrase falls from your lips from you don't know where. You've never said anything quite like it before and based on Eddie's surprised reaction, he wasn't expecting it either.
“Alright fuck it." He finally breaks. His arm wraps around your back before he lifts you and lays you gently on the bed.
In a flash, he's down your chest, stomach, and eventually between your legs yanking off your panties. "I'll teach you to listen to me, Princess," he states sternly as he peers up at you.
“Fuck," you whisper as your eyes fall shut.
Eddie's fingers brush against your folds, causing you to shutter. You've never felt anything quite like it. The rush of electric euphoria is addicting and overwhelming.
"Already so wet for me, Princess," Eddie purrs.
You can feel his hot breath wave over your inner thigh as he speaks. You release a soft moan as he continues to glide his fingers in circles over your clit.
"I want to taste you, Baby," he mumbles and plants a kiss to your inner thigh. "Has someone ever made you feel like this?"
You shake your head slightly, too focused on the sensation building up in your core.
Eddie loves seeing you react to him this way. He's envisioned it so many times. He's daydreamed of your plump glossed lips around his dick during class more than he'd like to admit. He wants to make you feel so good that Chance won't be so much as a thought in your mind. He intends on making you is and his alone, even if it's your little secrete.
Anticipation nearly drives you mad, then Eddie slips a finger into you. His tongue works in unison, moving in a circle around your clit.
“Eddie…” You whimper as your head tilts back.
“That’s right, Baby Girl, beg," he instructs with a husky tone.
“Please..." You comply breathlessly.
He groans. “God, you make me so hard.”
With every syllable that falls from your perfect lips, Eddie is one step closer to the edge of wanting to fuck your brains out. You're being so obedient and the fact that you'd do anything he wants has to be the hottest thing he's ever experienced.
As Eddie adds another finger, you gasp. Your walls begin to clench around him as the sensation builds up in your core. The thought of cumming on Eddie's fingers is enough to push you over the edge.
“Uh, uh, not yet," he instructs, emerging from between your legs. He slips his fingers out and you huff in frustration. He's such a tease.
He grabs you by the chin, urging you to meet his gaze. “Not until I say, Princess," he states sternly. "Is that understood?"
You roll your eyes and before you can complete the action, Eddie's large hand wraps around your neck. Your lips part as a sharp inhale travels between them. Eddie's eyes fall to them with a hooded gaze. "I said, is that understood?"
You nod as chills form on your skin. His demands and tone are unlike any side of Eddie you've ever seen. It ignites something in you. If you weren't already enthralled with him, you sure are now.
“Good girl," Eddie purrs as he moves back down between your legs. He peers up and meets your eyes with a smirk. “You need to ask for permission.”
He's relentless with his motions. His focus on your clit causes your back to arch in a way you hadn't thought possible. He has complete control of you and he knows it... he loves it. He flicks his tongue and it sends shock waves throughout your body.
“Can I please cum?” You plead, knowing you won't last much longer.
“Not yet," he demands, tightening his grip on your thighs. His nails dig into your skin with a deep intensity.
"This isn't fair," you whine between pants.
He chuckles and you can feel the vibration between your legs. "You're the Queen of not playing fair."
Just to piss you off more, Eddie slips two fingers inside your soaking wet folds. He curls them, hitting a spot that makes you fist the fabric of your comforter. His pace steady, but any quicker and you'll become an utter mess.
"Can I... I please cum?" You stutter.
He ticks his tongue and shakes his head with a smirk. "So needy, Princess. I don't think you've learned your lesson..." Biting down on his lip, Eddie moves up to hover over you. His free hand latches around your neck as he leans down to brush his lips against yours. "I'm going to make you cum so hard you'll scream... and when you do, I'm going to taste every bit of it."
His words alone could make you reach your limit. It's gratifying.
Without warning, Eddie picks up his pace, thrusting in and out of your pussy. Your breathing quickens into short pants.
"Eddie... Eddie... I Can't..." You stutter desperately.
He continues his assault with a wicked smirk as your eyes roll back in pleasure. "That's a good girl, use your words." He removes his hand from your throat and starts to kiss the now slightly red skin. He can feel your walls clench around his fingers. Your wetness coats them, making him eager to taste you again.
Your hands grip his shoulder blades. Your nails dig into his skin pleadingly, begging for a release.
"Okay, I think you deserve it now," he whispers in your ear. "Cum for me, Princess." He begins to circle your clit with his thumb, causing your back to arch again.
You don't hesitate to feel the climax of your pleasure. A deep moan escapes you as your eyes squeeze shut. The intense pressure building in your core releases and you chase the high. "Fuck... Fuck... Holy fucking shit."
As the sensation steadiness and you catch your breath, Eddie moves down between your legs. His tongue glides up your folds, collecting every bit of cum he can.
Your fingers comb through his hair, gripping the roots as your sensitivity from his actions nearly makes you jolt.
He props himself up beside you as your eyes flutter open. Your eyes meet his and he wears a proud grin. Without a word, he leans down and plants a gentle kiss on your lips. "You're amazing," he mutters against your lips.
Utterly determined, you sit up and urge him to lay down.
"Uh, what are you doing?" He questions.
"Returning the favor." You smirk, gliding your nails down his chest until you reach the rim of his boxers.
"You know, Baby, I-"
Ignoring him, you eagerly yank them off and toss them wherever.
He props himself up on his elbows to look at you. "You don't-"
Before he can finish, you wrap your hand around his dick, causing him to inhale sharply with a hiss.
"Real... Really, you don't-"
You waste no time taking him in your mouth, dragging your tongue across the tip.
He gasps and falls down onto his back. "Okay, never mind, keep going. Fuck..."
You relax your throat and take what you can. What length of him remains, you pump with your hand.
Once Eddie gets past the initial shock of pleasure, he collects your hair in his fist to keep it out of your way. The vision he's daydreamed a thousand times is a reality and he could cum right now, but he wants to enjoy it.
Your innocent looking eyes flicker up, meeting his and you feel his dick twitch in your mouth.
"Jesus..." He pants. "You can't look at me like that."
You hollow out your mouth as you glide up his dick and release him with a pop. You run your thumb across your bottom lip seductively and bat your eyelashes at him. "Like what?"
He chuckles weakly and allows his head to fall back. "You're wicked."
You giggle and return to your task. You increase the suction as you take him deep in your throat, loving every minute of it. Eddie's moans and short breaths make you wish it'll never stop. You take his ball in your empty palm and he rolls his hips.
"I'm... I'm... close, Baby," he pants.
"Cum in my mouth," you instruct as you admire his angelic state. His hair clings to his forehead with a thin layer of sweat. His jet black eyes screwed shut. "I want you to cum in my mouth so hard."
"Oh God...you should have a warning label," he whispers.
You giggle, anticipating his climax. You wrap your lips around him and quicken your pace. With your free hand, you drag your nails down his chest, knowing how much he loves it.
"Fuck...Fuck...I'm so close...Fucking shit." He swiftly props himself up on an elbow and grips the roots of your hair. He watches you as you take him in your mouth effortlessly. The sight is something he'll never get tired of. "Oh, shit!"
You feel him twitch in your mouth and it's followed by a rush of warmth in your mouth. It's a salty bitterness that coats your tongue.
"Fuck... Holy shit... Jesus Fuck," he pants.
When you're certain he's finished, you sit back on your knees and swallow. Eddie peers at you with the utmost admiration. He leans forward and runs his thumb across your bottom lip, wiping away any wetness.
You close the short distance between you and slam your lips to his. He wraps his arms around you, urging you to straddle him.
"Stay?" You ask breathlessly against his lips.
He grins. "You're crazy if you thought I was leaving."
You both laugh and look forward to the rest of the night.

While Eddie steps into the bathroom for a minute, you explore the rest of his house. You find yourself in his bedroom, fascinated by the dozens of posters on his walls. Metallica, Black Sabbath, every rock band on the planet, and some others you've never heard of. The aesthetic of the space is perfectly reflective of how he presents himself. There are limited colors beyond red, white, and mainly black. Your fingers glide over the cold strings of his guitar. Then, over his denim jacket on the dresser that's covered with various badges and pins.
You haven't noticed, but Eddie emerged from the bathroom a little bit ago. He remains in the doorway, leaning against the frame with an amused smirk as you scan his stuff. He loves your curiosity and is eager to introduce you to his world. He could show you, the Cheer Queen, that there's more in the world than pretty bows and department stores. He could corrupt you in the best way.
"You wanna stay the night?" He finally voices.
You whip your head around with a hum, not having heard what he said. You meet his gaze and the sudden sight of your eyes causes him to freeze. He pushes off the doorframe but is suddenly too nervous to approach you.
"I don't expect anything. I was just asking so you're not home alone and high for the first time and everything," he rambles. "I can sleep on the couch or-"
"Eddie!" You cut him off with a giggle. "Yes, that'd be great."
He rubs his hand across the back of his neck. The familiar warm feeling rising to his cheeks. "Right, cool."
"Do you maybe have something I could borrow?" You ask timidly, not wanting to impose.
"Um...." Eddie clasps his hands together and crosses the room to his dresser right beside you. He squats down and begins searching through his t-shirt drawer for something not ripped, too graphic, or too big to swallow you up.
You linger beside him, growing a bit nervous. "If not I can sleep in my uniform. It's just-"
Eddie pulls out a black Led Zepplin shirt he got last summer and rises to tower over you again. "Here you go," he offers with a smirk.
"Thanks," you mutter, taking it with a soft smile.
You step out of the room for a second to change in the bathroom. Meanwhile, Eddie takes a deep breath and tries to settle himself down again. When you stopped him after class earlier today, he could've never predicted you two would end up here. He's not mad at it, just taken aback.
He gathers an extra blanket from the end of his bed and one of the pillows to take into the living room. Then, you emerge from the bathroom. You enter Eddie's bedroom and place your neatly stacked uniform on an extra chair by the door. His Led Zepplin shirt ends relatively high on your thighs, but you don't mind. It's soft and more importantly, it smells like Eddie, which you could never say aloud is your favorite part.
When Eddie catches sight of you, he inhales sharply. "Holy-" He stops himself before he completely embarrasses himself.
You turn around, meeting his gaze with a sense of confusion.
Eddie covers his mouth with his fist, trying to play it off, but fails poorly.
You glance at the objects in his hands and frown. "Where are you going?"
"Oh, uh," he points at the bed. "I was gonna let you have the bed."
"I'm not going to make you sleep on that tiny couch when you're practically as tall as Big Bird," you insist, moving to sit down on the mattress. "Plus, I'm scared enough of the dark in a familiar space. In a new one, I won't get a second of sleep." You pat the spot beside you and begin to climb in. "Come on."
"Okay, uh, cool," Eddie stumbles over his words, utterly speechless.
He moves toward his closet and swings open the doors. You slip to the side of the bed away from the door, hating to sleep anywhere near it. You've seen enough horror movies to know better. Eddie, being the boy, gets the door. When you turn toward the front of the bed, your eyes land on Eddie, more like a shirtless Eddie. Chills course over your skin as you take in the numerous tattoos scattering his arms, and shoulder blades... Holy shit-balls. Then, paying no mind, he unbuckles his belt and drops his jeans. A smack of reality hits you, snapping you out of your gawking. You swiftly lay down and try to make it look like you went completely staring. While in your head, you're screaming.
Eddie switches off the lights and shuts his door, locking it. He can't believe he's climbing into his bed with you in it, in his fucking shirt too. If you say anything to him he won't hear it over his heart pounding like a drum set in his ears. He lays down beside you and wishes he had better game but instead is as stiff as a board.
You flip onto your side and peer across the short distance at him. Eddie follows your lead, trying to do it as smoothly as possible.
You realize how his eyes capture every ounce of light they can. They're so dark they shimmer so evidently in the moonlight.
"I didn't know what I was expecting when we agreed to meet up this afternoon," you whisper. "I didn't know if you were going to be-"
"Mean and scary?" He predicts.
You nod. "Well, a little considering how you act at school, toward Jason and the guys..."
His brows scrunch together. "I only do that to get a rise out of them."
"I know... I guess I was nervous because..." You hesitate and your eyes slip to Eddie's hand resting on his pillow. You've never looked at his rings so up close. "Well, I thought you couldn't stand me. You know so much more about music, the world, and things that actually matter. I thought... I thought you were better than me."
"No way," he chuckles. "You're lying."
When you don't respond, he brings his hand to your cheek, brushing the strands of hair back. “Look at me..."
You shy away from his instruction, continuing to focus on the spot where his hand used to be.
"Y/N, look at me," he repeats, this time more sternly.
You do as he asks, meeting his gaze timidly.
"I could never hate you..." he states with the utmost certainty. "Now, can you and your cheerleader friends get on my nerves sometimes? Sure," he jokes with a cheeky smirk.
You snicker, making Eddie's smirk grow into a grin.
He rubs his thumb across your cheek, peering at you with the most sense of protection and admiration he's felt for anyone. “But seriously, some days your smile is the only thing that got me through school. Even if it was because of your asshole boyfriend you were smiling. Being around you no matter the situation is like the first day of summer, freeing and exciting.”
“Even when we’re bickering?” You mumble.
He chuckles. “Yeah, even then.” He assures as he leans in and plants a quick peck to your forehead.
You two shift, allowing Eddie to lay on his back and you on his chest. His arm around you is like a security blanket. Then again, that's whenever he touches you. Your hand glides across his bare chest as you take in his numerous tattoos. In your ear, you can hear his heart beating quickly. It's comforting.
You lift your head, resting your chin on his chest. “I wish we had genuinely talked sooner. I feel like an entirely different person when I’m with you.”
“In a good way?” He asks, partially joking.
“In the best way.” You reach up and plant a quick kiss on his lips.
You settle back down on his chest and Eddie glides his fingertips over your spine like he does with his guitar. Though, the thought crosses his mind that he may like it more than playing, just to feel you next to him.
"I hope you know now I'm never letting you go now," he whispers.
“Good," you reply. "Because I don't want you to."
____________________________
Eddie wakes before you. The golden light of the sun's early rays sneak in between Eddie's sheer curtains. He stretches out his arms above his head with a groan. For a second, he wonders what the weight is on his chest. He rubs his eyes and peers down to find your Y/H/C hair. Your hand and cheek rest gently on his skin with such warmth.
Making sure not to wake you, he slips out slowly from beneath your embrace. He shuffles out of the room to use the bathroom quietly before heading to the kitchen to leave his uncle a note on the counter. He figures he won't be home by the time his uncle gets off considering he has to drop you off. Plus, he has his usual Saturday plans to meet up with the band.
Eddie returns to his room to find you still fast asleep. Your hair is scattered across his pillows and he's never seen something more beautiful. He settles on the edge of his bed and brushes his hand over the back of your head. Your curls have since settled into waves and he's never loved it more.
If it weren't for his uncle coming home in a few hours and his uncertainty of your social obligations, he'd let you sleep here all day. He'd get back into bed with you, hold you, and ponder the peace from the world. Yet, that's not the reality. If his uncle came home and found you, there would be a million questions, questions Eddie predicts neither of you are ready to answer.
Ready to wake you, Eddie leans down and plants a kiss on your cheek. You shift slightly, but that's about it. He brushes strands of your hair over your shoulder and moves on to your neck. "Good morning, Princess," he whispers in your ear.
You release a soft moan and turn onto your side. Your eyes flutter open slowly to see Eddie leaning over you with a smirk.
"Morning." You smile and hide your face in the pillow.
He chuckles at your sleepy state. "Coffee?" He asks, rubbing his hand up and down your spine.
You hum and reveal your face again. "Yes, please."
Eddie can't help that his mind switches on like a lightbulb upon hearing that word fall from your lips. What he would give to hear you beg to him. The idea of you, this pure, pristine, and perfect good girl, would only be bad for him... it drives him crazy.
He shakes the thoughts from his head and tries to focus on you. “How do you like it? I will confess though we don’t have an espresso machine," he jokes.
You snicker with a shrug. “However you have it.”
He inhales sharply between his teeth and rise from his spot. “If you say so.”
He leans down and gives you a quick peck before disappearing again to the kitchen.
As Eddie makes you coffee, you slowly wake up and become a functioning human again. You glance about his bedroom, taking in what it looks like during the day. His t-shirt covers you like a cologne-scented blanket that you gladly embrace. You weren't kidding, you might want to steal it.
An unbreakable smile remains on your lips as the memories of last night flash across your mind. Eddie's touch still lingers on your skin and you hope it never goes away. The hours went by too quickly. You wish you could restart the clock to after the game and do the whole night over again.
The door creaks open and Eddie emerges with two mugs. “Coffee, milady," he announces as he hands you one.
You peer into the cup to see the jet-black substance. You knew it. Eddie didn't take you for the cream and sugar type.
“Thank you." You reach up and meet his lips for a quick peck. “This shirt is so comfy. Might have to stuff it in my cheer bag when you’re not looking.”
“Wouldn’t be mad if you did. Looks hot on you.” He smirks as he settles down at your side, crossing his legs on the bed in the process. “How’d you sleep?”
“The best I have in months!" You express, utterly relieved. "I don’t know whether it’s because of the weed, not actually being home alone for once, or maybe sleeping next to you.”
Upon hearing your words, the familiar sensation of heat creeping up to his cheeks threatens to reveal Eddie's sensitive side. “What are your plans for today?” He asks, trying to ignore the feeling.
You exhale deeply and rack your brain. “Chrissy wanted to go to the mall and then we were going to head back to my place to work on winter dance planning. What about you?” You ask, bringing your mug to your lips.
“That sounds totes fun, can I join in?" He teases with a Valley Girl accent and tosses his hair to add to it.
You playfully move to shove him in the chest, but Eddie catches your hand and holds onto it. He brings them to his lap and interlocks his fingers with your's.
"Band stuff and then I'm free," he describes. “I mean we usually come back here and smoke after but if you wanted to do something…” He insinuates, too nervous to straight out ask you. His eyes linger on your interlocked hands as he rubs his thumb over the back of yours.
"Well my parents are supposed to be gone all weekend if you wanted to come over after Chrissy and I finish up," you offer.
Eddie looks up at you with wooded eyes and a smirk. "I would love to see what that mansion looks like inside."
You roll your eyes with a scoff. "Oh geez, it's not a mansion."
"Your three-car garage is the size of this trailer!" Eddie argues.
You can't help but laugh. You hadn't thought about it, but now that he mentions it, perhaps it's true.
"Well then, I'll make sure to give you the grand tour," you assure him.
"Aw thank you, Sweetheart." He grins as plants a lingering kiss on your cheek. Then, he leans in to whisper in your ear. "If the final stop is your bedroom, I'll leave you an excellent review."
You pull back to look into his eyes and bite down on your lip. "I can certainly do that."
Eddie's eyes fall to your lips and then leans in to kiss you. The kiss is less urgent or pleading than the ones you shared last night. The way you two are with each other, it's as though you two have been together forever. You banter, make each other laugh and take care of one another. None of it makes any sense, you two are of entirely different worlds, yet it feels so right and natural.

Outside of your house, you can't seem to leave Eddie's van. It took over an hour for you two to actually leave his house. Then, the ten-minute drive to your place felt more like five. When he pulled into your driveway, you ended up talking for thirty minutes about the most random things. The threat of noon came out of nowhere and when it became crunch time to say goodbye, neither of you could bring yourselves to do it. A goodbye peck turned into a kiss and eventually a full-blown make-out session with you straddling Eddie's lap as Journey plays over the radio.
"I have to go!" You giggle against his lips.
"Five more minutes," he pants, gripping your waist tighter.
"Chrissy will be here any minute!"
Eddie pulls back and glances at his watch. "You said noon, it's clearly 11:55."
You laugh and cup his face. "I have to get inside and she's always early!"
"Tell her the van is a maintenance guy's or something," he rushes out and begins to kiss your neck.
"She would have to be blind to believe that," remark breathlessly, becoming too consumed by his actions.
If Chrissy rolled up to your house and saw Eddie's van in the driveway she'd probably think you were being robbed. If she looked in the window to see you on Eddie's lap, she'd faint right there on your lawn.
Eddie pulls at the collar of your cheer vest for more access to your collarbone. Your fingers comb through his hair and gather it into a fist with a slight tug, earning a moan from him.
Suddenly, your butt hits the horn, causing you both to jump.
"Oh shit!" You nearly scream.
You and Eddie peer at one another for a moment then break out laughing. You rest your forehead against his shoulder as you two can't believe that just happened.
"Okay, I really have to go! If my neighbors see us they'll tell my parents," you sigh, moving to climb off of him.
Eddie groans and holds onto your hand for as long as possible.
"I'll see you tonight." You say as you plant a quick peck on his cheek. "Promise."
"This is gonna be the longest day ever," he whines and reluctantly lets your hand go so you can hop out.
"You'll live." You smirk and grab your duffle bag from the bag.
"Don't count on it," he grumbles under his breath.
You jog in front of the van to his window and he rolls it down. You rest your arms in the open and he takes your hand.
"So, seven?" You double-check, biting down on your lip.
"I'll be here at 6:55, we'll call it being on Chrissy Time," he jokes with a grin.
"Awesome, bye!" You lean in a give him a quick peck.
When you turn to walk away, Eddie grabs your wrist and pulls you back. "What was that bullshit?"
You knew he wouldn't like your quick goodbye. You did it just to irk him.
You giggle as he slips his hand over your cheek and pulls you in for a desperate kiss. You wish you didn't have to go. In a perfect world, you'd invite Eddie in and spend the entire day together. Yet, if this is truly going to remain a secret, you have to be smart about it, discrete.
You two break apart with a shared sigh.
"Later, Princess," Eddie mumbles, finally letting you go.
You pick up the handle of your duffle that you dropped when Eddie got frustrated. Swiftly, you jog toward your front door, eager to get inside before Chrissy gets here. You have to change and act like you've been here all morning otherwise she'll get suspicious. When you reach your door, you glance back at Eddie and smile to find him waiting until you get inside safely. You unlock it and step inside. Once the heavy wood door shuts behind you, you rest against it and drop your bag with a sigh.
"Holy shit," you whisper to yourself, finally taking a deep breath after the whirlwind of a night and morning you've had. In a matter of twelve hours your entirely world has flipped upside down and all because of one boy.
As Eddie drives down your street, just as he did yesterday, he's losing his mind. "Holy shit," he mumbles. He still can't wrap his head around that any of it actually happened, last night, this morning. All he knows for sure is he won't be able to pay attention for a second during practice and he'll be counting down the hours until he sees you again.
