Some Merlina rough reference/studies for myself for a little thing I’d like to try.

#no colors yet because still figuring that out #Merlina is so ornate that I had to make myself another reference sheet of all the patterns on her clothes #it was admittedly difficult gathering screenshots of Merlina’s garb at angles and with no official Merlina reference sheets so far #buuuuut it worked out I think! #don’t know if this will be a legit project. “Guess I can’t be the hero every-time!”

Initially a study of the storybook style for a comic project I had in mind, but I wondered if I could push it a bit more to be lighting dynamic friendly so I did some additional painting over it. Honestly pretty freeing to rugged uneven strokes which now that I think about it matches sonic pretty well.
