Update I accidentally and miraculously got Acheron to E2 with her signature light cone while full F2P. Since Acheron’s banner started, I have gotten SIX five stars, NINE if you count Genshin banners too.

I believe they did that to hold back for the reveal of Jill Valentine not only appearing in the film but leading as well. So the previous theory I had of her and Chris investigating in San Francisco looks to be right. I'm just wondering if Chris just runs into her there by chance or did he join her on the way there. I'm thinking the shooting range scene might come after the San Fran investigation. We also have the scene of Rebecca telling Chris about Jill still blaming herself for the acts she committed under Wesker's control in RE5 as well. even if ronance isn’t endgame, i need nancy to have an arc where she chooses her friend. in my head, the only thing that makes sense is nancy choosing robin. not even in the romantic sense (although i would die of happiness if it was), just nancy remembering her choices and not making the same mistakes she made at sixteen.

having nancy go through four seasons of chasing/grieving/fighting for her best friend, only to turn her entire character into a plot device for steve or jonathan, would be the worst possible choice the duffers could make.

I think it basically knocked out the numbers it COULD be? So like I think because it was 17, that was the point where the spell would still fail from the corruption. BASICALLY, it raised the DC, so if they’d passed more checks, the DC for the spell to succeed would’ve been lower. That’s my theory anyway

So hm hold on the total amount of beads is what let the DC essentially be 17? They were good? I'm confused but also intrigued
