Got a request to draw the Cybersquad as merfolk so I did just that. Also added mermaid Gatito for a cheap catfish joke.

I don't normally do requests outside of close friends, but since the fandom is so small I felt like I wanted to.

I used my adult designs of the three since I'm better at drawing those than the OG ones.

Hacker’s real motivation

- This is 100% speculation and me attempting to add depth to a kids show villain with the only motivation of ‘gimme power cuz I’m evil nom nom nom’.

- As mentioned, I must add a touch of realism to most anything I do so I’m going to talk about Hacker’s quest for power. Where should I start? Yes, his original purpose.

- It’s mentioned that Dr.Marbles created Hacker as an assistant. The time and how he was created are very mixed in the show, with the oldest iterations showing him to be just as he is at the start - big and with a cape and evil attitude. The later in the show it gets, the younger and less intimidating he gets.

- My personal headcanons are as such - Dr. Marbles attempted to make a full grown assistant with the capability to protect, assist, and eventually take over cyberspace once Marbles became too old and Motherboard grew outdated/too old. The traits programmed were: high intelligence, leadership, confidence, independence, and strength.

- However, his prototype was just too complicated to get off the table.

- He went younger and younger with a simpler start (putting in an adapting matrix with these base capabilities), fighting to complete this new life until finally, at age 7-10, it would start up. And his name was Hieronymous Adrian Hacker.

- Hacker was just that - new life. A new prototype. Installed with many skills and some very complicated components needed for a future ruler, which is why it was so difficult to perfect.

- With new life comes unexpected surprises. Hacker, even at a young age, was all of those things, but with time became nervous and people-pleasing under Dr. Marbles’s admittedly harsh training and leadership. Hacker still needed a parental figure, but Dr. Marbles wasn’t aware and Motherboard could never be a normal mother to him. (Subconsciously I believe. I don’t think either party is really aware.)

- Under unfortunately neglectful parents (not purposely but Hacker always did need extra attention), Hacker learned negative coping habits and slowly became sullen and angry. These capabilities programmed in him made it against his programming to take commands properly, and respect others - or at least when his ego got too big.

- He felt taken advantage of; his ideas were put into use with little credit going his way. He was always the wrong one, always the one who needed to keep learning. Dr. Marbles was arrogant and the harder Hacker pushed for faith to be put into him, the harder the doctor pushed back.

- Hacker, in response to now near-constant disapproval, tried to bounce back the only way he knew how; by puffing himself up instead. He learned deflection, denial, and a host of other unhealthy habits. He figured if he was the only one to believe in himself that’s all he would need.

- With the disapproval, Hacker completely lost respect for others. He got a mindset that everybody was out to get him - it was a bloated image, but it fueled other behaviors such as a touch of sadism.

- He decided that if nobody would take him seriously, he would force them to. He wanted to make everybody who’d denied him his ‘right’ (controlling cyberspace) pay.

- So he started a career of villainy. Using the ins and the outs of the system he knew so well to cause chaos. He built up the fear, and through fear, respect. Whether others ‘liked’ him or not was not a priority. (At least he told himself that until he believed it.)

- Hacker’s plan is to take over cyberspace. Cause misery, show the site admins, cyber citizens, and anyone else who stepped in his path how useless, pathetic, and helpless they were. This would last for two years, or perhaps longer, if he felt like it.

- Then, when all hope was lost and they begged for their lives, he would restore cyberspace’s greatness. The peace. Whatever broken code there was, he would fix. He would use his special knowledge to so perfectly improve the system that no one could anymore deny his superiority and greatness.

- Hacker has never told anyone this plan. His sense of drama and revenge wants everyone to be clueless.

- In short, Hacker has a God or Hero complex. He wants to be feared, hated, loved, acknowledged. Somehow all at once. This makes it make sense for me at least.

Hacker’s chin killed me 💀 I’m a zombie typing this. Also wicked gets gloves. And did anybody ask for Hacker in like Radopolis/biker t shirt and gloves? No but I did it anyhow.

Jackie’s adult bc I kinda love her design that way hehe. I don’t draw her enough despite her being my second/third fav character.

Everybody’s a lil wonky here and there but that’s okay, I learned something and that’s the main part.

Some Cyberchase OCs.

First one is Dr. Ivy. She's a doctor (duh) and has a somewhat cold and no nonsense personality, and is very condescending towards Slider. She was originally a one off character for Spaced Out, but I grew very attached to her so she's more than that now. She and Coop occasionally hooked up in the Spaced Out universe. (Bro won't escape the scaly allegations like he escaped his son for years.)

Second is Loot (The one on the right). She's Swipe's snooty adopted sister who butts heads with him often. While Swipe just steals whatever, Loot goes for more grand targets like stuff from a museum or expensive parts, and she can't stand how he conducts himself as non-serious.

Next is Foxy Loxy (Or just Foxy). She's a tragic thief/criminal from Happily Ever After. Her past is of course shady, and her personality is mischievous and sassy. She's a character I'd like to have appear in a future fic where she gives a traumatized and hostile Slider a hard time at first, but they eventually become semi-friendly or as friendly as Slider can be after seeing his dad get mutilated in front of him.

Next are Hammer and Mallet, some cyber sharks that bully randos on the beach. Their personalities are stereotypical high school jocks, jawks if you will.

Last ones are Buck Headshot, Tank, and Guava. (The others are just Hammer and Foxy again.)

Buck is a former drill sergeant from the cyber military, and is very strict and cruel. He stole some important metal from Slider's place, and made him work under him to get it all back. At one point he whips Slider into shape and pushes him over the edge physically and mentally.

Tank is Buck's sentient training dummy. Buck gave said dummy feelings and emotions just to fuck with whoever he trains. Also, Tank's gender is unknown but uses any pronouns.

Guava is an axolotl native to Aquari-Yum. I don't have much on her yet, but her personality is that of a dramatic and girly diva.

Another Cyberchase OC! This time from Radopolis! Definitely a tomboy milf. Lmao

She is a character I would like to make into Slider's surrogate mother (Would definitely explain why I draw him with gray eyes instead of Coop's blue ones).

Gale is Coop's good friend and drinking buddy. She's very much a dreamer who wishes to see every site in Cyberspace, bursting with energy and a daredevil attitude to boot.

While Coop and Hacker are still in a very serious romantic relationship, Coop wants a son, and Gale offers to be their surrogate. 9 or however many months later for a biological being from Cyberspace, Slider, a healthy baby boy is born.

The first few years of Slider's life were as good as they could have been. Before Gale went on her own adventures she would care for him when his dads were in need of assistance; even Hacker enjoyed some moments of being a dad before he became evil/corrupt. However, when Slider was around 7 years old, Hacker and Coop broke up due to Hacker fully turning to the dark, and then a year after that when Slider was 8, Coop disappeared. Gale's whereabouts were unknown during this period onward, and whether she lost the ability to contact Coop or has died is unclear at the moment.

It'd be cool if I could bring her back somehow in my fanfics on AO3, but I dunno how to handle that where it'd make sense.

Inez: "Did you have another nightmare?"

Slider: "It's always that same one, a different version of what happened when we went to Nowhere. Hacker hurting you badly, then you die in my arms. Every. Single. Time..."

Inez: "Hey, it's alright, none of it was real. I'll never leave your side."

Slider: "What if it happens again? What if they hurt you again? I don't wanna lose you..."

Inez: "Then I'll fight. I won't go down that easily again. Heck, we even have both of the antidotes in our first-aid kit."

Slider: "You're right. I'm just..."

Inez: "Worried? It's okay to be. And whenever you do, I'll be there for you, no matter what."

Slider: "Thank you, Nezzie..."

After the events of my fanfic Spaced Out, Slider has reoccurring nightmares of traumatic events, causing him to wake up in a cold sweat every other night. Sometimes, they would stress him out so much that he'd hyperventilate, or even throw up.

Not more than a couple of nights into Slider and Inez living together in Cyberspace, Inez notices he had a very rough time, sweating bullets while hunched over the bathroom sink emptying his stomach. Once he was well enough to settle back into bed, she got him some water to drink and had him lay in her lap while she gently stroked his hair, whispering calming words until he fell back asleep.

I was thinking of making a fic where Slider betrays the squad and assists Hacker in taking Inez as his prisoner (Like Hacker wanted to if he won the skate-off in Totally Rad). Then Inez uses talk no jutsu to make him good again.

This was originally gonna be something more serious or wholesome where Sly comforts Inez about a special flower dying or some shit, but then I turned it into a shitpost with a dead meme.

Some refs for the adult Cybersquad from my Cyberchase fanfic, Spaced Out. It takes place 9 years after season 5, and Hacker destroys Motherboard, becoming the new ruler. Also there's violence, swearing, and guns. Also the green bird is Betty, a minor character that only appeared in The Snelfu Snafu but I turned her into one of the main ones. Also Inez and Slider's have slightly different styles than Matt and Jackie's cuz the latter's were a lot more recent.

It mostly revolves around Inez as she's my favorite of the three along with Slider. Slider is an ass to her at first due to trauma, but then develops feelings cuz I said so. They both actually have mental health struggles, but they are each other's anchors.

(And sorry if the Slider ref is suggestive, I wanted to show his scars lol :') )
