Didn't the whole Jonah Hill using therapy speak to try and control his girlfriend fiasco happen this year?
There was plenty discourse on Twitter about "how abusive men go to therapy, learn nothing, only learn self help speak, and keep on with the toxic habits"
Therapy is self introspection, be willing to receive help, make an effort for progress.
So many characters that fandom insists on therapy would have solved everything would simply not respond to therapy, would not be willing, wouldn't be open to the idea of admitting there is something wrong and they should receive help for it.
I could see Anakin go to therapy and just using it as way of stroking his ego. Giving insanely biased stories to the therapist, not being open about his actual emotions, getting over attached to the therapist, using therapy speak to emotionally abuse Padme.
The fist step of recovery is admitting you have a problem. Jedi forcibly sending someone to therapy wouldn't work. Anakin has to take that first step for therapy to be successful.
prefacing that this is not meant to be on any side of sw Discourse, but ya'll really treat therapy like it's some magic bullet, so here's my question for you: what if therapy doesn't work? what if it isn't fixable? what if anakin had been marched into therapy (by whomever, pick your favorite blorbo in the blorbo wars) and it did approximately zilch? someone recognized this person needed help, took him to get help, and Anakin still struggled? No one's fault, just that help wasn't enough? BAM - now we're getting to an interesting conversation that imo is actually worth having about morality and culpability

And it is not like Jedi stay in the temple all the time. Jedi have months sometimes years long missions, they travel through the galaxy helping people from unique backgrounds and live through many dangerous situations.
Something that makes me extremely uncomfortable is how the Jedi are accused of being out of touch with the citizens of the galaxy, and them just living in the Jedi Temple is usually used to try and prove it. What, them living with other members of their religion in a place catered to their needs (and their protection) is bad? Did the Jedi need to have apartments on Coruscant and give up the home they'd lived in for thousands of years (logistically near-impossible) to truly "live amongst the people?"

i think it's both hilarious and sad that a movie that came out 20 years ago from a trilogy that is constantly mocked for being 70% outdated cgi can make better alien designs that a multibillionaire company with super cum high definition 4k cutting edge technology in 2022.

"I've picked up enough to make sense of [..]", he says. He's picking up an old language. Just from collecting books Qui-Gon wants. Fucking. Genius. Bookworm. I love him.

i have many characters in star wars that i love and cherish, but none have left a mark on me quite like the kind, caring, compassionate jedi who lost everything and yet never lost hope.

“Whoever chooses to follow the right path, follows it but for his own good; and whoever goes astray, goes but astray to his own loss; and no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another’s burden.” (Surah Al-Isra’, 17:15)
As I was reading Quran, this verse reminded me of SW fandom's constant search for a scapegoat to be responsible for Anakin's fall.
It's him people. His choice, his crime, his guilt.

And I would agree. This is one of the polar examples. Jedi encourage, sith discourage love. (Although my point was about their attitudes towards romantic relationships.)
Sith see any kind of love as a weakness. A nuisance too. They don't see worth in something that doesn't bring any power too them. Something that is just done for the fancy of mind, for simple happiness. It is always about wanting more with the Sith. Gain and victory. A very imprisoning mindset.
Dark side truly isn't as "individualistic" "free" "hedonistic" as many thinks.
A similarity between Jedi and Sith
For all the arch enemies, polar ideologies, different aesthetics and literally allying themselves with opposite forces, there is one area they surprisingly have in common.
Neither of them give any particular value to romantic relationships. With some exceptions most of them are utterly disinterested in it.
We know Jedi's reasons for not engaging in it. Commitment, attachment issues. They nobly dedicate their lives to serve the force etc.
Now Sith are more interesting. Cause you would expect them to do the direct opposite of the Jedi.
And considering all the criticism Jedi specifically get for their no marriage rule, you would assume the Sith are all married with kids, having passionate affairs everywhere they go, have a philosophy of true love or something.
They don't.
All the sith we see are single. Palpatine, Dooku, Maul, Savage, Plagueis.
Ventress does have a thing with Vos if you take Dark Disciple for canon. But she is not fully committed to the dark side anymore and considering joining the light. Ventress and Vos are not strongly connected with either sides of the force during the book. In the end Ventress dies saving him, Vos returns to the Jedi. Their relationship's end brings them both closer to the light side.
Anakin is married when he is also somewhere in the middle with force. This marriage derails him in his path of becoming a great Jedi. The love he feels becomes corrupted. His selfish love prevents him from truly immersing himself in the light side. Ironically it is his turn to the dark side that ends up destroying his relationship with Padme.
I don't think this events are strictly connected with romantic love being good or bad. (Infact true love can only be achieved through the Light. Dark side corrupts and destroys love in all it's selfish glory.) (The reason Jedi are wary of the strong emotions love could produce cause it might result in unhealthy, toxic attachments and lead them to the dark side).
Dark and Light side both requires commitment to itself. This commitment means keeping the cycle going. Force is not genetic. (Barring the chosen one) Force sensitives are randomly scattered through the galaxy.
If Force users were to start families, dedicate themselves to their family, focus on their biological null children who would train apprentices? There simply won't be another generation of Force users.
My theory is light and dark side draws it's devotees innately towards other force users.
For Jedi teaching's it is the will of the Force. A way to protect the natural order of life and brighten the Galaxy. Contentment.
For Sith it is a path to make the dark side eternal. A way to reach for more power. Bring the most destruction to the Galaxy. Dominance.
This is perfectly in line with how Jedi grant the rank of master when you train an apprentice. Or the way sith are obsessed with apprentices.
On a more sociological perspective
Why has been romantic relationships prioritized above others in human history?
Survival. Reproduction. Intimacy. Comradeship. Economic stability. Devotion.
Neither Jedi or Sith have a lack, need or want of these things in their life.
They already have a "significant one" in their lives. Their apprentice and master. (Their community too in Jedi's case.)
Always two there is. A master and an apprentice.
Relationship between a master and apprentice is highly intense, long lived and purposeful. In ways a romantic relationship can't be for these specific groups of people.
One thing is obvious. The life of a Jedi or a Sith is not for everyone.
It requires a unique life style. Insane devotion and commitment.

First step to to combat corruption in the Galactic Senate should be setting term limits.
Chancellors have a term limit of two. (Max: 8 years) But senators have none. None.
Before he became chancellor Palpatine has been in the Senate for at least 22 years. (That's Maul's age in TPM. He was already a Senator when he found infant Maul. And considering he went looking for an apprentice he must be confident in his connections in politics to plot behind Plagueis. I doubt he was newly elected. My rational guess is something like 27 years.)
By the time of Rots he has been working for 40 years. 27 as a senator. 8 years as Chancellor. 5 years with growing emergency powers.
Is it really surprising how much power he consolidated?

Obi-Wan is a pretty unique name but Kenobi is the Smith of star wars. (Ex: Helios Smith) There was at least 3 Kenobis alone in Obi-Wan's youngling clan. Nevermind the Jedi Order.
To illustrate this point and fix an obvious plot hole in the originals, Clone Wars should have had a side character whose surname was Kenobi every season. With no one questioning or remarking on it.

I can’t get over how funny it is that ‘the Council distrusted Obi-Wan’ and ‘the Council felt he was tOo aTtAchED’ and ‘they still had misgivings over him being a Jedi because of his childhood in JA’ and ‘they didn’t like that he was taught by Qui-Gon’ are like, actual fanons, that exist in the fandom, that are semi-regularly seen in fics.
They PUT HIM on the Council. He basically becomes one of the ‘top three’ with Mace and Yoda despite being the youngest. There isn’t a single Jedi that we ever see in the movies or TCW who dislikes Obi-Wan lmao. He’s the Force’s gift to the Order. The Council spends the whole RotS novelization like: 🥰🥰🥰 and “have you seen our (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*✲゚*。⋆ ✨son✨”
