StEx Appreciation Month Day 31: Favourite Ships

I'm pretty much open to any ship to be honest - especially if it involves Rusty! Rusted Brakes (Rusty and pre-2018 caboose) The first ship I ever shipped when I became a Starlight Express fan. I thought it was a rarepair... but it isn't lol (which I'm glad there's shippers!). This relationship is far from perfect and I think a lot of trust needs to be built up again before they give anything a go! But they're one of my OTPs :) BoboEspresso (not sure if there's a ship name for them...) I love them so much and I have no idea how I started shipping them. I started loving Espresso… and then Bobo… and then boom! One of my OTPs! I just love them so much and they're totally canon (JOKING). SteamPress (Rusty and post-2018 caboose) Honestly, this ship started as a joke and at a time I hated the post 2018 caboose and found him cringe. I was like "Lol how funny would it be to put Rusty with this new cringe caboose" and then called it "Cursed Rusted Brakes". Then…. uhhhh I started actually shipping it… a lot. That's okay though because I now like the post 2018 caboose and don't think he's a cringe fail anymore. But yeah… this ship is honestly my number 1 OTP… they're my comfort ship if I'm being honest.

Greasedinah (Greaseball and Dinah) My favourite canon ship that's actually canon! Sure, they aren't perfect but what relationship is? I think they're very sweet and I enjoy reading fanfics and seeing fanart of them!

Rustgold (Rusty and Ruhrgold) The idea for this ship came when I was in my hotel room in Bochum and thought it would be a really cute ship. I like Rusty! I like Ruhrgold! So why not ship them? Lol! I thought I would be the only shipper but turns out a few other people shipped them too!

StEx Appreciation Month Day 30: Favourite Production

I have many favourites for different reasons! Also the below info are just my opinions! I'm in no way saying you should/shouldn't like a certain production :) Post 2018 Bochum Production This was the first production I saw live and I'm extremely lucky to have been able to see it as often as I have, despite living in another country. This production will always be special to me and I love it so much! Broadway Production This was the first production I saw a boot of! I wish the first bit of the boot wasn't missing but it blew my mind! I had listened to the 1984 and 1992 London albums before I watched the boot but watching the boot brought the story to life for me and it was so beautiful! Original London Production I love this production because it was the start of something amazing! Sure, a lot has changed since the London production first opened but there is still something so special about the OLC! Japan/Australia Tour Production I love this production so much! Everything about is is just amazing for me! The costumes! The songs! The actors! It's probably my favourite album to listen to and I just adore it so much. Pre-2018 Bochum Production Probably my all time favourite despite it's many changes. It has my favourite costumes, my favourite songs, and an amazing set! It's usually my go-to when I want to watch a Starlight Express boot and I wish I saw it live. I believe that no production of Starlight Express is perfect (in my opinion). Even in my most favourite production, I'm always like "Oh I wish they kept this song in" or "I wish they kept this costume" etc. I think every production has it's good parts and not so good parts (in my opinion) and that's fine :)

StEx Appreciation Month Day 29: Favourite Characters

Rusty Okay, so I think it goes without saying that Rusty is my favourite character ever. He had so many obstacles to overcome and he didn't give up! He did it! He won the race and I love him so much for that! (Also, yes I know Electra, GB and CB crashing helped Rusty win but still!). Espresso & Bobo I just think they're both so fun and they were the characters who slowly lead me to loving all the nationals! It started off with me headcanoning Espresso as Rusty's cousin and also shipping him with Bobo... and now I love them!

Dustin Dustin was actually my favourite character when I first joined the fandom. I love him because he is genuinely one of the sweetest characters in the show! Like he just radiates positive energy and I just know that he would be an amazing friend and give amazing hugs! Buffy I would argue that she's my favourite coach in the show and I miss her so much despite loving Carrie and Belle. I love her relationships with the coaches and just love seeing them together! Also she's so beautiful! Ruhrgold I love Ruhrgold so much... it started off with me shipping him with Rusty as a joke.... but then I actually fell in love with the ship and with Ruhrgold too lol! He's so fun to watch in the show and have definitely caught myself watching him in the background of scenes.

StEx Appreciation Month Day 28: Original Characters

I don’t have any photos but I have a Steam Press (Rusty and post 2018 Caboose) fankid called Jackson!

He’s a navy steam engine with wavy brown hair and green eyes and he was adopted by them when he was a trainlet.

I also have a Swedish National called Fredrik… named after one of my favourite Alfred actors (from Tanz der Vampire). I haven’t put much thought into him yet but he’s a posh lad :)

Favourite Actors Gang: I don’t have any specific favourites but I think they’re all great! Trax: I like Nils Rinas as Joey Egan!

Favourite Songs/Scenes Gang: I like watching them in Rolling Stock! Trax: Honestly, just anytime they do cool tricks! I love watching them!

Favourite Costumes Gang: The current ones without the flag <3 Trax: I love the Bochum ones!

Favourite Ships I don’t think I actively ship anything, unfortunately but I’m not against shipping them with anyone. Just not put any thought into it.

Headcanons Gang: I like to think that the gang members and Greaseball all met in high school! Trax: They used to watch the championships when they were little and since then, they’ve always wanted to become a part of racing in some way!

Unpopular Opinions Gang: I don’t think I have any? Trax: I’ve seen people say that the show works just as well if they aren’t there. I’ve seen the show before where they had cut the Trax because none of them were available and I missed them so much!

StEx Appreciation Month Day 25: The Japanese Engine

OKAY so I'm literally the one who created this but I forgot Zero had a separate day to Volta!!!! I love the National Engines so I thought I'll do one of them today (and I'll do the rest of them later haha!).

Favourite Actor I like Mikey Eborall and Jake Bishop! I got to see them live and they were so good! But for those who I have not seen live, I love Mayo Kawasaki and Kouta Otsuka. Favourite Songs/Scenes I love watching him in Race 2 and when he crashes into the pit. I was sat right next to the pit when I went a few months ago and 😳 Favourite Costumes I think the current Manga costume is a lot better (in my opinion!!!!). But I did love the colours on Hashamoto. Favourite Ships I ship Manga with Turnov Nintendo/Hashamoto I ship with Volta! Headcanons He does karate moves (or something similar) on stage so I like to think he teaches it to little trains! StEx Appreciation Month Day 18: Post 2018 Caboose

Favourite Actor Ryan James! I saw him in March last year and he was SO good. Also Daniel Ellison, Tom Nihill, Delano Willemsen, Jake Bishop. Favourite Songs/Scenes Mein Spiel of course! I also like him in One Rock and Roll Too Many. Also, not all actors do this but some of them check on Rusty after the beating up scene. I like to see it as him checking if he’s okay but I understand people may interpret that differently. Favourite Costumes The current one lol? He’s only had one if I remember correctly. Favourite Ships STEAM PRESS, STEAM PRESS, STEAM PRESSSSS!!!!! I also (jokingly) like Greaseball/Caboose and Espresso/Caboose. Headcanons He's a softie with those he cares about (Rusty hehe). I also headcanon him to be brothers with pre-2018 caboose. They had a rocky relationship while growing up but they eventually rebuild their relationship in their adult life. Unpopular Opinions I don't think he's better or worse than the pre-2018 caboose and liking one doesn't mean you hate the other. You're allowed to love the new caboose without hating on the old caboose and visa versa.

Favourite Actor MIKEY EBORALL!!!!!! Also, William Adams, Peter Rees, Hans Johansson, Steven Schultz, Murray Golding, T. Robert Pigott, Nivaldo Allvez, Ben Draper, Todd Lester, Jeremy Kocal. Favourite Songs/Scenes Wide Smile of course! But I think There’s Me also was sweet and I enjoyed that song. I also like the 'there's me' reprises throughout the show in some productions. Favourite Costumes The Bochum one of course! Favourite Ships Rusty/Caboose is my OTP! But I also ship Caboose/Electra.

Headcanons I think his best friends are Dinah and Dustin! He sticks up for Dustin a lot and I feel like a reason why CB betrayed Greaseball was because of how he treated Dinah. Unpopular Opinions I miss him okay? I just wish they didn’t cut There’s Me and other bits that gave him more of a personality other than him just being ‘crazy’. StEx Appreciation Month Day 16: Flat-Top

Favourite Actor Michiel Janssens (even though I haven’t seen him live yet… I just love Michiel). I also like Delano Willemsen, Luuk Hartog, Owen Broughton, Michael Eborall, Paul Treacy. Favourite Songs/Scenes I love the scene after Rusty gets beat up and he stays behind to check on Rusty. Favourite Costumes The current Bochum costume is my favourite! Favourite Ships Again, I don’t actively ship anything but I like Dustin/Flat Top 😊 Headcanons I think Flat Top has more insecurities than he lets on. I think his whole attitude is kind of a mask? That’s why he’s so desperate to hang out with Greaseball and the gang because he thinks that once he’s achieved that he’ll become cool or whatever. Unpopular Opinions I don’t really get why people hate him so much tbh.
