On my hands and knees, please, can you tell us what program or brush did you use to do the pixel art? It looks so good and accurate!!

Everything I do is on Procreate, so for fellow Procreate users I will try to explain how I do pixel art on there :D

For everyone else I recommend Piskel!! It's free to use online, has all the basic tools you need in a drawing program (LAYERS), and the option to make animated gifs. You can also upscale the canvas when you export art, very convenient.

now. it's time to Procreate.

Why is upscaling important...??? because otherwise it looks

tiny when you post it.

Hello! I love your pixel art work, I was wondering what program or brush you use to make them? You inspired me to try my hand at it 🤭

Thanks so so much! I'm by no means an expert, but I'll show you how I do mine! I use procreate and Bardots Pixel Brushes -- which are free! I start with a 100 x 100 pixel canvas and turn on the drawing grid, lowering the size as low as possible. I just like to see the grid so I can make sure things line up properly!

next i just draw like i normally would using the normal pixel brush -- heres a self portrait hehe. a 100 x 100 canvas gives me loooooads of space to work with. Most pixel measurements for characters or objects tend to be either 16x16 , 32x32 , or 64x64. The more pixels you have the more in detail you can go! I use 100x100 so I can kind of just have a bit more creative freedom.

If you post your pixel art at your original dimensions, its going to be very small and illegible. You gotta make it bigger! If I'm trying to keep things in scale I'll manually multiply the canvas by at least 10 (so my canvas goes from 100x100 to 1000x1000) but for this I just manually dragged until I had a size I knew was readable. You'll notice your art is tiny -- here is how you make it bigger and keep that crisp look!

select the layer your pixel art is on (I reccomend flattening your layers for ease) and make sure nearest neighbour is selected! this is what keeps those lines crisp and pixelly.
