I like to view Britta as autistic and I think Abed would recognize this and probably have like a binder abt it or something.

Pls take this seriously but also it is just me spitballing off the top of my head and I know that I have more thoughts then this and could articulate them better but I just needed to say it like asap ya know so ig just roll it over in your mind for a sec and forgive me for being dumb

Britta consistwntlt misreads social clues and never fit in with other girls some may say this is because she's the worst I say it's because she has autism. Britta always believes she is right and has a strict moral code (obviously she doesn't live up to this code but it is there none the less) She consistently has a hard time fitting in due to not understanding social norms and is constantly confused as to why the things she's doing are wrong. For example the episode where Troy and Abed tell her not to tell them weird stuff about their friends that she sleeps with and she takes this literally and doesn't tell them about their friend being a war criminal even though she finds it very upsetting and wants to tell themso badly but they said not to and then they get upset with her even though she did exactly what they said to do and she is confused.

Abed being the actual autistic character in the show is constantly reffered to as machine like, a robot, etc (ewwie)(I hate this)

Britta is also characterized as cold and emotionless throughout the show and Abed himself decides to represent her as a robot in his christmas meltdown. Abed calling him self a machine bc he's autistic 🫂 Abed representing Britta as a machine (DO YOU GET WHAT IM SAYING???)

Abed expresses comfort in Brittas vast mannequin esqe face which just gives me like so him recognizing she's autistic. But also just like a parallel kind of to me ig of how ppl view Abed and Britta for example how Jeff was saying Abed looks like a muppet and a lizard mixed.

Also like Britta with a hyperfixation on activism or some shit honestly idek I just saw this on an old reddit post but like it does kinda make sense but also like 🤨 idrk

But like how she consistently reads about and consumes content of wars, and genocides or whatever could very well be seen as hyper fixating like idk I feel a bit iffy on this but could really see it

Also how Jeff says like "there's something in you that wants to care about people so much you'll do it until you puke" like.

when the study group is trying to find out who the new pierce is after he left the group, shirley is like "what about abed, abeds weird". and everyone turns to look at him, and they're all just like "nahhh it's not abed he's alright".

it's just like such a good moment for me because on any other sitcom or show the objectively "weird" character probably would have ended up being targeted and ridiculed. but abeds just a funky guy who likes tv, and everyone in the study group recognises that and instantly rules him out as a threat or 'new pierce". it's very cool.
