@spacebeyonce you’re perfectly welcome to have no interest in my opinion, but I don’t believe the phrase “No-one cares about your opinion” can actually be used in a sentence in which you also show extreme feelings for said opinion.

“Johnny Woman Beater” has abused someone. That is not okay. However, when compared to the many other stars that have done the same thing, deliberately, multiple times over, what he did is not so horrendous. Or do you want to say that once it’s done once it’s as bad as it’ll ever be? Do you think that if, say, I accidentally stepped on a woman’s foot as I was walking through the mall, instead of apologising, I should turn on her, and yell and beat her? Because believe me, those are two very different things. I am of course exaggerating the situation here but the point still stands that simply because I support his casting, doesn’t mean I excuse people who maliciously attack women (or men for that matter).

Overall, while I understand that you may think it unforgivable, and refuse to accept anything I say, but a man losing his job is serious, and it’s a slippery slope from kicking someone out of a movie they’re already cast for to refusing to ever give them another job. Johnny Depp stands on the edge of a cliff, and people like you are trying to push him over, while his ex-wife walks away from the situation, content at where he stands now.

Also, @runicscribbles I can understand your anger, but you have clearly misunderstood the situation. Depp does not ‘like to hurt women’, it has been stated that the harm was unintentional. But beyond that, hoping for someone to die? That’s low. You’re a good author, and I appreciate your work, but I don’t agree with how severely you’re taking this. I have been abused in the past myself, by women, in fact, who well and truly knew what they were doing, but did not know that it would hurt me. And you know what? It hurt. I can’t see their faces without freezing up and needing to find somewhere isolated where nobody can hurt me or touch me. But I don’t want them to die. Death is a serious thing, especially when the fault committed was accidental. Please understand, if you take anything away from this post, you should never hope for somebody’s death, especially if they haven’t even wronged you.

As for your requests, worry not, I won’t follow you and I won’t touch your posts beyond this here argument.

Unpopular opinion incoming

I support Johnny Depp's continued casting as Grindelwald.

You can "respect" radcliffe all you like, but that doesn't mean what he said is automatically the most important thing in the world. An argument has two sides, and Radcliffe happens to be on the side that would appear to most people using Tumblr as the obviously correct side. But then, it's an argument. That means there will be disagreement, and just because you see someone saying "Mr Depp has been accused of abusing his ex-wife" does NOT mean that you should stop reading right there and drop everything to yell at Johnny for being a terrible person, it means the opposite. Keep reading, find as many facts as you can, and come to your own conclusion.

My conclusion is this:

Daniel Radcliffe has no reason to have input on this issue. He's an actor, formerly of a related series, but has never worked with Johnny Depp in person. He doesn't know details, and so his opinion is as useless as, say, your next door neighbour's. The quoted text above points out how an actor was let go for "weed". The article describes it better though: 

Crabbe actor Jamie Waylett, who was let go from the film series in 2009 when the actor was arrested for growing marijuana plants.

Crabbe's actor was growing marijuana. Growing it is far more serious than simply taking it, and a lot easier to prove than what Depp has been accused of. Furthermore, there are two more articles linked at the bottom of this one with further��reading - I implore you to read them too, and make your own decision - which go into more detail about what Depp has and hasn't done. In the end, it boils down to this. Nobody who has worked with, or lived with Depp (his other ex-wife, that is) can believe he would do such a thing. This does not excuse him, mind you, but still. Consider it. The two have settled in court now, and the matter is resolved. Their statement says “there was never any intent of physical or emotional harm.” (Amber Heard decided to be needlessly salty at Warner Bros for saving characters by not mentioning the rest of the statement, which is totally unrelated, so I'm also not mentioning it) So, while Johnny Depp appears to have abused Amber, I do not know the extent of it, I simply know that it was not intentional, and that nobody who knows him could see him doing such a thing. To me, he has committed crimes, yes, but they were unintentional and the issue has been resolved. Johnny and Amber are through. He will be more careful, and no such issue should happen again with him, and so continuing to reprimand him here will lump a man who has done his time. NINE YEARS OF IT paid for his crimes with the many Hollywood asshats whose crimes are unforgivable.

So, yeah, I support him staying as Grindelwald, I think he will strive to be better, and most of all I think we should all leave this behind us and focus on more pressing matters, like politics or the new flavour of chocolate that is bound to come out at some point before Easter.
