Do we ever think about how. narratively. adam stanheight doesn't exist. he isn't a character, not like lawrence is. if we take only what we see in saw 1 (excluding any deleted scenes from 3 namely rockstar). adam interacts with nobody but amanda, when she kidnaps him, lawrence, in the bathroom, and jigsaw, when he's left there. the only full scene of adam outside the bathroom he is Entirely alone. he is a fixture for the narrative to continue for lawrence. you're a part of it. he doesn't pass anybody in the hallway. he doesn't call his best friend, or his mom, or even his landlord. Adam is alone. adam is alone until he wakes up in that tub, he's alone until, forcibly, he isn't. he is alone until somebody says i wouldn't lie to you adam is alone until somebody actively tries to help him he is alone until somebody refuses to kill him. it would've been so easy. adam's barely alive anyway, the gun is reachable, there's a bullet in the box. he's even chained up. it's laid out so clearly in front of lawrence, so picture-fucking-perfect he'd barely have to lift a finger. he doesn't. adam survives.

and in any other game, would he? if adam's game had been solitary, like mandy's, like most others, if it was just adam and one choice between he dies and he lives, what would he have picked? would he have wanted to live when put in the right circumstances? if it'd been adam who had to cut open a dead man in sixty seconds, could he do it? did adam have to be saved before he could save himself? if zepp had walked in any earlier, if he'd brought the gun with him, would adam have killed him then?

you know it always surprises me a bit to remember that kim kitsuragi like, has a voice actor. that a real person (who isnt kim kitsuragi) sat there in front of a microphone pretending to be kim kitsuragi. and not that like the spirit of kim kitsuragi himself was captured and is speaking to us or something does this make sense
