So the whole uprising of AI has kinda turned me off digital art for the moment (it doesn't help that my style that I have tried to perfect for 20+ fucking years could probably be mistaken for AI). Instead, I'm getting back into pastel painting!

This is the first pastel painting I've done in over 5 years. I've only ever really dabbled in traditional media here and there and have rarely pushed myself beyond pet portraits. But I'm feeling really inspired to get out of my comfort zone eventually and try different kinds of things - landscapes, still life, people, fanart :D

I'm currently working on a second pastel painting which I will hide below because it is CW: a closeup of a wolf spider referenced (with permission) from a photo from one of my fave spood photographers and experts, Paul Irvine 😍

These past 3.5 months have seen me working (sadly unpaid!) at a very large residential aged care facility as a student social worker. I've enjoyed my time immensely, it was such a positive placement and I had so much fun and learnt a lot of skills. But it was full-time, often working 10 hours a day, so I couldn't keep up with fandom stuff.

But now I am BACK y'all. And you can bet your lil tushies I'm gonna be screaming about that Fallout trailer until April.
