no, i went to uni for packaging design for reasons right now incomprehensible to myself</3

#technically graphic design included and one illustration course in adobe illustrator but it was not art focused in any way #i would like to study art but im kind of pragmatic and wouldnt do it unless i had money to spare

do you still use references or are you at the point where you don't need them anymore?

i use references, no shame! it depends on what it is. if i've drawn it enough to be comfortable with it, no. usually for anatomy i don't use reference, but other times i take pictures of myself, like grabbing my wrist hard to see how the skin bunches up, pressing my hands to my face, stuff like that. but no i mean, i think if you want to draw stuff you have no idea what it looks like (and i'm the kind of person that can't see any image in my mind when imagining stuff, zero apple or whatever), you kind of have to use a ref if your goal is some sort of versimilitude. same with how a certain material looks. i dont think u can ever have all of that in your head.

right now i'm painting a commission that includes a cat on his hind legs firing two guns, so plentiful references employed lol! i seldom draw any of those things.

how do you come up with your poses? m

with couples i try to smush them together as close as humanly possible and even when not possible, as an artist you can just bend the rules. boa constrictors! add a hand! get that elbow around that waist! how you want a hug to feel yknow. a lot of the time i just get bored of drawing from the same angle or the same laying down pose so i just try to find ways to make it more fun to look at.

no, i don't really read fanfics that much anymore... i'd love to if anyone else has any recs though. I love august! i was debating whether to write one myself but i dont really have any ideas, plus i really like the way they left him in the show! spoilers under

i loved his ending. overall i found this season kind of a let-down and sort of meandering and clumsily handled and obviously written... lot of parts felt like filler and kind of well trodden ground within the show. but i guess at the end of the day it's a teen drama so it was kind of my bad kind of expecting a melancholy ending or a season full of like... dry politics(pos). i just thought wille had already abdicated by the end of s2 so i thought s3 was gonna deal with that but when it turned out it wasnt so... okay i guess we're gonna do this hp5 school inspection thing. stuff was just not expanded on at all and then tied together last minute... buuuut tween drama, eh, it's all fine, i guess. i think first time i watched it i constrasted it with heartstopper which is like for 12 year olds so i was like damn this is serious but now i had it constrasted against adult shows and movies and was kinda mistakenly hoping for more oumph and less repetition. BUT i loved how depressing his ending was, the moment he's like actually i'm next in line to be king and it was like his big break and his friends are all like wow that sucks bro. really fun stuff i love that he's trapped forever with no way to be happy ever now. sweden's own kendall roy!

My plan is to have unlimited preorder for a number of weeks on my store. I have a storefront but it's not launched yet so I'm planning to launch it when i'm 100% happy with the proof(there's some stuff I want to tweak cause I want it as good as possible!). I'm going to launch the artbook together with some sticker sets, also up for preorder. Then I'll have a limited extra stock too in case. ^_^

I'll announce it on all platforms! Also it'll be up for a while so I don't think it's a risk to miss it. I want to say it'll be finished in maybe 1-2 months since I have other work inbetween too, and the proofs take a while to print!

You know what I hate about the internet? Sometimes people will just lazily slap a “citation” on an infographic and trust that they’ll be completely taken at their word and nobody is going to dig deeper. And it works all the time. As an example, please look at this photo someone posted to dispute my assertion that garlic can be toxic to dogs.

Okay well, kind of a pain to manually type in that link but obviously I am going to look into this study that is confident enough to recommend people feeding their dogs garlic. So here’s the article, kind of a weird journal choice for this graphic to reference from but looks like a legit (though 20 year old) study

Funny thing is, almost immediately this article acknowledges that garlic can indeed be toxic to dogs. The health benefits mentioned in the graphic are referring to human health, not canine. This section is literally in the introduction of the article and one of the first things you read. Emphasis here is mine.

Crazy to me that someone would imply that this article encourages giving dogs garlic when it in fact immediately asserts that doing so has the potential to cause hemolytic anemia. The article does explore the anti-thrombotic effects of garlic components in dogs and humans, but by no means does it say that “contrary to misconceptions garlic is safe for pets”. It is dishonest to assert this in an infographic. However the creator of the image correctly assumed nobody would check, because the person who posted it took it as fact without further investigation.

I am begging you to be skeptical. Check your sources. Check their sources. Check my sources. Learn how to dig deeper and exercise that muscle as much as you can, especially on the internet. You will be absolutely shocked how much misinformation is casually stated and received as pure fact.

no joke solid snake has had such a profound effect on my life for the better the only fandom tat i considered was a snake one. and in general i still like mgs despite... everything... it's one of those things that don't leave u ^_^
