Still another slow year but I'm really happy with all the art I did! I wanted to finish Az and Eversong's piece but life continues to throw curveballs. I'm hoping to finish it in 2024 and get started on some new work!
I also had a lot of work I did for my world building project I created this year but I've excluding that from the year in review images for now.

Finally finished this cute animation of Yae as a fox! Including the video due to the gif getting heavily pixeliated.
I ended up deciding to do a lil more detail right at the end including grabbing a screenshot and giving her a lil shading.

Few sketches I’ve worked on this year including “Howl’s Moving Horse” from January and two pieces from this month. The first is a test for my kitsune character Ayuka’s fox form as I’m still trying to sort out color and general design but I’m liking the maned wolf proportions.
The second May one is a sketch I made of @papi-makky’s character Blake and Az chilling and comparing their awesome hair!

I can’t believe I forgot to upload my new baby boy. Here’s Cake, aka Shortcake, a sweet lil non-binary baker dragon (he/they.) I came up with his design beginning of this year and made a proper ref of him in back in February.

Here’s the PVRIS inspired piece I made for @northamber‘s birthday of her beautiful loshenka horse! I just barely managed to squeak out the final version on said day but the speedpaint took a bit longer to make but was absolutely worth it in the end. As before, many thanks to @ruth-westside for her mentoring and helping crank this piece up to 11.
Check out the speedpaint post here!

Here’s the work-in-progress pieces for the birthday piece I did for my friend @northamber of her gorgeous loshenka horse! As with many of my best pieces I owe huge thanks to my friend Ruth for mentoring me throughout the process. You can really see where her advice kicked in and helped me develop this piece into something truly impressive. This one was completed within 3 weeks with the recording I did of it (including cut parts) being about 8 hours.
Check out the final piece here!

Not as much art this year but I’m really happy with what I did make. Definitely ended up being a slower more recovery based year but I’m hoping to jump into the new year and start doing some more 3D soon!

Here’s my submission for the third week of Build-a-Beast! I decided to try out creating my lil familiar Ollie, a koi inspired aquatic dragon who acts a lot like a cat. This is my first time trying to design him so it was a lot of experimentation but I think he looks just as precious as I’d hoped he would.

Decided to dust off my 3D skills for week 2 of Build-a-Beast and attempt to do a somewhat speed model for the lair! I think it came out pretty nicely while also shooting for a low to medium poly level of detail. For the texturing and lighting I decided to keep it simple and just do flats and some really basic sunset lighting.
It was a fun challenge and experiment I definitely wouldn’t mind coming back to refine!

Happy very early Halloween! Here’s my piece for the first week of Build-A-Beast, I wanted to have some fun with a werewolf and I never see anyone used maned wolves so why not? I had a ton of fun working on this and especially with messing with the dramatic lighting.

Wanted to include my work in progress for my build a beast entry, I’m really glad I decided to swap out the initial pose. The reference I found from theposearchive was so much better! Also thank you to @ruth-westside once again for your valuable feedback. <3

Decided to take part in the rainbow horse competition over on instagram for SSO. Here’s my submission, the Spectrum horse!
Breed Description: Spectrum - A spirit of life, spectrum is a horse that travels through dreams and lives off the wishes of riders across the world. They represent the beauty of diversity and variety in life. They can take on many forms but most commonly prefer that of gentle giant breeds such as the irish cob, the cyldesdale and the shire. They desire to carry strength and comfort to those who need it most and bless inspiration upon the artists and creators of the world. They very rarely visit the waking realm, living mostly within the dreams of creatives except in special circumstances. Jorvik however is a land full of many hopes, dreams and wishes which allow the spectrum to manifest itself far more easily.
However they are not one to be overly flashy and will often conceal themselves as a simple pinto to mask their beauty. When they find someone who truly needs them they at last reveal their true form, that of a rainbow horse of shifting colors and blotches of white, not unlike that of a painter's brush smeared across their coat. They are a beauty to behold and have become known as a muse for many equestrian artists, inspiring many works from all walks of life.
