That’s like thinking that Youtube flagging system won’t be misused... it will. IT ALWAYS WILL.

For the record tumblr @staff SAYS their bots will get better at not flagging everything but they wont.

I had a comic like a year and a half ago, when they went through marking things as explicit, that was anything but explicit. I had it reviewed and it still came back marked as explicit. I had asks ever since about why there was a explicit piece on my sfw blog. The only thing I can guess is I used an old paper texture as the background and it thought it was skin, but other pieces with the same background still weren’t flagged.

On top of that, earlier this year I tried to post a video, less than 30 seconds, of my door making a weird noise to see if anyone could recognize if it was a specific bug in the wall. I could only figure it saw that the door was brown and thought skin again. Tumblr would not show the video and sent me email warnings about posting explicit videos, I couldnt protest them at all.

So they have had PLENTY OF TIME to get their flagging bots shit together but it has only gotten worse.

I’ve completely fallen out of SU. The retarded amount of Hiatus was what did it, but then I had time to digest things and realized that the series as a whole was BAD. This is what happens when the only thing the creator did was Storyboarding for another show and never went to learn about story design.

Peridot is probably the ONLY good character in the series. The adorable little lime pie.~

Hooooooo what a time to shit the bed. SU and tumblr have always been so connected in my mind, like conjoined twins that needed each other to survive. I used to not even know there was a new episode unless it was trending on this site.

Why I care

Here something that’s been on my chest for a while. You believe that the children are our future? You would have to make sure that whatever you’re feeding them would lead them down the path to becoming sane and mentally stable productive members of society, right?

I mean yeah, parents are still the ones responsible for their moral behavior, but that’s not what I’m getting at. So in sense, you should treat kids as smaller adults. Which is why it grinds my gears when somebody creates a cartoon show, or in worst cases, a CONTEMPORARY REBOOT, but when things simply don’t add up and you complain to them about the poor quality of the product, they tell you “it’s for kids, you’re not a targeted demographic” as an excuse, you kinda wonder “Do these people have such low opinion on kids that they’re prepared to serve them trash?” I mean it’s not kids the ones making the cartoon, it’s the adults, so what would they know about what kids would like?

And judging by the LOOKS of the creators you can clearly see that they don’t seem to be most mentally stable... or rather they’re not acting maturely. That’s one of the reasons why recent reboot announcements of popular 80s cartoons irk me. Not because of nostalgia, since I was born in 87, so I’m more of a 90s kid, but because, the rebooted looks simply ooze the current political and social atmosphere in today’s world. And while you could easily say that animation looks more fluid compared to the now janky Filmation animation, the characters were visually appealing and they were for the most part fully grown adults, somebody a person could look up to, the paragons if you will.

Back in the day, you’d hear a kid say “I wanna be just like (insert name here) when I grow up.” You don’t get that anymore.
