I smile at the thought of Nature
Of how it may one day surprise me
Suddenly placing you in front of me
No warning
No advance on how to handle it
No place or time set
Just random beauty
Just a unique feeling of pleasant sensation
How marvelous is Nature

Like a foolish optimist
I hoped this virus would teach us something
Teach us that we are Human
Teach us that we are fragile
Teach us gratitude
That we must learn to behave
Yet, I cannot help but feel it has had the reverse affect
Only served to feed our arrogance
Only served to feed our ignorance
Only served to feed us a false sense of invincibility
Like a young super hero
Proclaiming he or she can do it all
He or she know it all
What virus? What villain?
What weakness?
I am Superhuman
-         What lesson? -

At times I am moved by the simplest of things
Other times the most tragic of events could move me as much as a gust of wind moves concrete
Perhaps the reason being I no longer hold sympathy for human beings

She asked me what I desired most
Without hesitance I replied
A coffee and dialogue without Time’s hold
With a simple smile and the wave of her finger
I felt the arms of ecstasy welcoming me

If it were up to me
Everyday at noon
In a public square
In a city or town
The masses would gather
To hear their Poets speak
To remind them
How rare it is to find someone who understands
How precious the art of undressing Language truly is

There was a line as long as the eye could see
Men and women standing patiently
Waiting for their opportunity to get ahold of the glorified Rose
I couldn’t help but smile
As my gaze studied the abundance of pleasure left untouched
The lovely Tulip
Standing tall, standing alone
Waiting for someone to teach it how to flirt with Love

I would be perfectly fine perishing under the skin of your shadow
Knowing I was granted the opportunity to bask in your everything
After all, not everyone is allowed a glimpse of Heaven

A dimly lit bar
A corner booth
A jazz band on stage
A stiff drink
A pen
A trail of inspiration from here to sunrise

I am stuck on neutral
Daydreaming about coffee
While sipping on whiskey
Watching it all burn
With no desire to run and alert
What good would it do?
Truth is of no use
After all
Lies sell much better than ever

Poetry is like a symphony
It all works in harmony
All it takes is for one person to get it wrong
And all the notes fall apart
All it takes is for one word to get it wrong
And all the words fall apart
Which why it is so lovely
The fragility of it all

I feel a slight sense of guilt
Taking pleasure in observation
As Vanity destroys itself
Overcome by its own obsession for perfection
There is never enough flesh to fulfill its appetite
A greed forever craving praise
A perversion forever craving lust
It will never be enough
Yet Vanity knows nothing of it's destructive ways
The sad ignorance of beauty

Humans
We play such a deviant game
Hide and seek
Rich and weak
Strong and meek
Acting as though we are care
While we conceal the disguise of our nature underneath
The game is made to favor those who create and manipulate it's rules
How cruel are we
The game has been predetermined
Fall in line like sheep
The shepard is your guide
Leading you to your slaughter
This will only get harder
The masochistic nature of it all
One would think, it would make their skin crawl
But first you must understand the beast

They no longer paint romance in black and white
Moving pictures caught in time
A projector flickering off and on
Each reel holding onto that unforgettable moments like lovers arms
It held such a command over Attention once
Long ago
Two lovers dancing along in a colorless world
But their passion held so strong
Searching, seeking that moment where their eyes may finally meet
The embrace of two souls clinging onto their counterpart
Before it is to late and one is forever gone
Such drama
Such emotion
Such devotion
How wonderful are the tears of joy
Evading the “what could have been”
Escaping the grip of loneliness
Saving their romance in a world that holds no color
The graceful touch of black and white will be forever missed
