harrow the ninth is really like. what if orpheus didn't turn around. what if he wasn't going to turn around. what if he kept his face pointed resolutely ahead and trusted that she was there even not knowing what he was hoping for. what if orpheus had to be cajoled and threatened and eventually forced to turn around. what if eurydice hadn't been told the rules and also had a crippling fear of abandonment and spent the whole time pleading with him to look at her. what if orpheus trusted that she would follow him but eurydice couldn't trust that he would care. what if orpheus was told point-blank that eurydice was almost certainly not actually behind him and he chose to keep walking anyway. what if eurydice touched sunlight again and orpheus wasn't there. what then.
The fact that Beelzebub and Gabriel have a healthier relationship than Crowley and Aziraphale really shows just how much growth the later two need to accomplish.
Designs inspired by the Ineffable Husbands duality, including my take on the iconic good omens tattoo: the flaming sword + snake! and a couple of hands of god, playing her ineffable game with the universe.
If you are interested in getting one tattooed, by all means, do it! (and consider making a donation to my Ko-fi)
When the apocalypse is averted and theyâre sitting at the bus stop at nighttime and aziraphale mentions the bookshop and crowley says âit burned down, rememberâ. And when he says, âyou can stay at my place, if you likeâ. His voice is so soft. He is so gentle. He doesnât have a side anymore, theyâre on their own side, and crowley is free to be. And immediately he chooses to be â that. Generous. Kind. Warm. Open. Almost tender. Three years later heâs a married retired goth gay who wears turtlenecks
Aziraphale saw his ex-situationship for the first time in 100 years and immediately fell back in love, offered to give him road head, and then asked him to aim a gun at his head in a twisted sort of trust game foreplay that ended in drinks back at his place where he revealed that he saved them from certain death. Iconic, heroic, manic behavior.
C: "Standard rules of engagement, clause 1.1.2, subsection 3. Civilian non-combatants must be given sufficient time to evacuate the area of hostilities. Aziraphale can put in a formal complaint to de dark council of the dukes of Hell, if you want. But you'll have to delay your attack until they reply. That could take weeks, maybe. Erm- You lot could all be in big trouble."
A: *Nods effervescently to support his lying husband*
this wasnât âtogetherâ as in âwith each other in the same placeâ. this was âwe can be together - we can be in our relationship. iâll be running heaven, so weâll never have to hide from them ever again. we can be together.â
and crowley knows that. so he looks away, because when aziraphale looks at him he canât say no. but here he has to say no. because he knows heaven wonât change.
