Normally I ignore hostile or pre-judgmental asks on the off chances I get them, but I'll make exception for this one because it seems like a good opportunity for some much needed nuance-- also because I get this person's disgust, I really do.

But you, my fella, must understand that this isn't about the morality or even lack thereof behind dark fictional content, at all. You must realize that wanting dark and taboo fictional content (yes including that one you mentioned) not being allowed to exist actually does nothing to improve or protect irl lives, much on the contrary actually. No, I don't think there's any possible moral reason behind fictional cp content (nor do I find it 'ok',) but once again, this isn't about morality.

Please take a moment to read this thread (it words this topic better than me) then think it over. Trust me, it's a better use of your time than annoying ppl online with words you can't even bother standing up for with your name/face.

🔹 Saying that it's okay to write or read about dark and taboo topics but only when they're portrayed in a certain way is still censorship.

🔹 Wanting to ban or forbid media that you believe portrays a negative topic in a positive light, by glorifying, romanticizing, or fetishizing it is still censorship.

🔹 There is no objective metric to decide if a story is portraying a negative topic the 'right' way.

🔹 Just because a piece of fiction doesn't explicitly condemn or portray an evil action in a bad light in the text doesn't mean the author thinks its good or is trying to persuade the audience that it is good.

🔹 Survivors of trauma will not always write fiction about their trauma in a way that seems 'right' or 'normal' to you.

Dont’ Like, Don’t Read

or DL; DR

You are responsible for curating your own online experience.

If something upsets you, makes you angry or queasy or triggers you, stop reading/looking at it. Avoid things that might make you feel that way.

Learn to use the Sort and Filter function on AO3, especially the Exclude tools.

On social media, block and mute accounts / tags / words when necessary.

If you hated something, you don’t need to tell that to the creator or start pointing fingers at them publicly.

The Back button is free. Use it.

Addendum:

Yes, for this to work, creators need to tag their works accordingly, so that people know what sort of content they are about to engage with and can nope out if necessary.

Some anti-shippers really act like proship means "dangerous offending paraphile who is deeply perverted and can't be good in any way and should be kept away from society" instead of just like "person who doesn't give a flying fuck about what other people ship" and it's really uncomfortable to witness.

Though if Cassie believes Freddy and Vanessa were accomplices in helping Gregory try killing her since he mentioned someone else helping him at the time, I think she'd be full of rage for all three, Gregory would just be the 'slightly bigger fish'.

And even if the likes of Roxy, Chica, Monty etc wouldn't want to hurt Vanessa, Cassie most likely would still not be out of options, if we also include the endos and S.T.A.F.F bots if we go off the assumption she got them up and running again.

The later specifically are not to be fucked with despite their silly looks: we've seen they're super obedient and can tear both robots and humans apart in seconds-- these mfs have no chill. Fish fear them. Men also fear them. Cassie could fundamentally just order them to disassemble her three 'enemies' and it would be so over...

But another thing I think about is the Vanni mask. It clearly doesn't just display AR related things, but things personal to the user (why would there be Cassie cutouts and Gregory missing posters otherwise?) and I bet it can muddle a user's sense and perception of reality through continuous use of the mask. I can imagine Cassie using the mask a lot as a form of escapism (we see her do that in the Brazil ending after all) and what if by the time she carries out her plan to lure Gregory in, she's borderline unreasonable bc the mask has muddled her perception of reality, making it extremely hard to not only make her believe the truth but to accept it as well? Just passes it off as a lie to save their skin, and the evidence doesn't feel good enough?

Poor Gregory and co. being so sure(TM) that Cassie is being controlled they run in circles trying to find the arcade tied to her but there's no such thing...

Cassie becoming the new Vanny (Vannie?) Not because she's brainwashed or mind-controlled or possessed, but she choosing that path herself out of rage and spite and a drive to seek and do her justice herself if nobody else will.

Oooo in trying to get justice for herself and her friends, she becomes the very thing that hurt them.

Remote controlling the animatronics just like Vanny and Glitchtrap, putting them through that whole thing for a third time (if you add Storyteller to the mix). Her quest ver vengeance has added a whole new layer of hurt and betrayal to everyone. If being a security node allows Roxy to break free for short periods of time, she doesn't know what to do. She can't do this again, why would Cassie do this to her?

After everything they've been through, how could Cassie treat her like toy to do as she wants with? Was all of it just some sick game? This isn't the Cassie she knows and loves!

Those moments of clarity spent searching desperately for whatever arcade game Cassie must be tied to, but there isn't one. She chose this. Yet Roxy holds out hope it's not true...

Gregory is tricked into coming back. Vanessa and Freddy follow close behind. Roxy blames Gregory even more because her Cassie would never do this. She wouldn't even think to do it! She would never put them through this again!

Vanessa has a chance to talk to her. Cassie's control is telling her to attack but Roxy won't do it. Vanessa finds out first hand what's happening and is quickly connecting the dots on everything. She holds Roxy in a hug and it's the first one she's been able to have in so long that she won't let go. She's so scared of what Cassie has become and so hurt by it she doesn't know what to do...

She knows she shouldn't trust Vanessa... Every human she's ever trusted has just used her and her friends for their own gain. They've all been tossed around while someone plays dolls with them, treated like nothing while being told that they're loved...

Vanessa sets them free. They save Gregory and Cassie is taken back home. Everything is broken now and she has no idea if it can ever be fixed...
