“Is there a reason you’re making me browse through a lingerie store instead of, I don’t know, a coffee shop?” I skim my fingers over the rack of lace bras and satin robes. The material was soft and gentle against my skin.

“Don’t be such a grouch.” Momo hissed, nudging me in the hips. She pulls out another lingerie set from the rack in front of her. “You know we are doing this to help you.”

“Help me where exactly?”

“In seducing the father of your child.” Jihyo chimes in, holding a black lace teddy. “One of these nights, DK will take you out, and we all know how that’s going to end, so better to be prepared than unprepared.”

“I don’t need your help seducing him.”

“I saw your suitcase, Y/N. Nothing in there screams fuck me.”

I smack Momo in the arm. “Hey!”

She chuckles, rubbing over the spot. I will admit that I do enjoy shopping. So browsing through a lingerie shop does intrigue me, especially thinking about what DK like. It’s been a while since I did any shopping for myself. Whenever I do shop, it’s mainly for Jia, or I channel my inner interior designer, or it’s for inspiration.

Momo skims around the different racks, with Jihyo following behind her. They both exchange different looks with each other. I continue to browse around the pajama section of the store when Jihyo and Momo shove two large pink bags into my hands.

I quirk an eyebrow at them. “What did you two do? Buy the whole damn store?”

“Just thank us when you’re pregnant with your second kid after this trip.” Momo pats my shoulder.

I shake my head at them. Jihyo loops her arm around mine as we walk down the street. A small crowd forms outside of the clothing store next to the cafe. The streets aren’t usually crowded like this unless someone well-known was nearby.

“What’s going on here?” Momo murmurs more to herself.

The crowd of girls held their phones up. Their eyes eagerly searched around the window for a glimpse of someone. Some of the girls shove one another out of pure excitement. Silence shrieks are exchanged between them. Their voices overlapped one another while catching everyone up on what was happening. Jihyo navigates through the small group of girls when I catch some of their different conversations.

“Are you sure it was them?”

“Yeah! How do you know he’s in there?”

“I saw Dino and Seungkwan walk in with Mingyu!”

“I think DK is here too. I saw him with a little girl!”

“Eww, he brought the kid.”

My feet stop in their place for a second in front of the cafe, but I push myself to move forward. A tiny crack forms in my heart at their comments.

Why the hell did she say eww about my kid? She had no right to say that about her. Jia is the most beautiful baby I have ever set my eyes on. I am not even trying to be biased. She the best thing to happen to me. How is the girl saying eww about her?

Soft shrieks interrupt my thoughts. I glance up at the chimes of the door. The small crowd waving their hands and smiles stretched up to the ears when the members crossed over to the cafe we were in. The girls slowly move together like a pack following them closely. DK sets Jia back on the ground then he turns around to wave at the fans again.

“Mommy! Mommy!” Jia crashes into my legs. I haven’t seen her all day since DK took her out with the members for the morning. He wanted to give the morning to me for a girls' day.

“Hi, Baby. I missed you.” I carried her in my arms.

“Mommy, bread.” Jia points at the display case.

I walk closer, and Jia’s mouth drops in awe over the different pastries. Her fingers are pressed against the display case as she points out what she wants to eat. A firm hand slides against my back, and I turn around to find DK. His eyes crinkled at the corner, smiling at me, and pressed a kiss to my head. I grin up at him before turning back to the menu. He doesn’t hesitate to order whatever Jia points, which is half of the menu. I didn’t have much of an appetite like I thought. I just munched on the different pastries Jia ordered and sipped on a brown sugar latte with a shaken espresso.

Even though we were all sat in the corner of the cafe hidden away as if we were in our own world, I couldn’t help but notice the few people inside. Their sneaky glances at us. A few of them sneaked their phones up in our direction. They probably thought we weren’t paying attention to them, but I was. I couldn’t help it, especially after hearing a few of them whisper my name followed by Jia’s or DK’s.

Are they judging me? How did they even find us here? No one posted on their stories or social today. Did they stalk us?

Y/N, you’re not invisible, and neither is DK. Of course, they found you here. He is more known than before when you were last with him. It’s blind to happen that he will run into fans while you’re out in public with him.

“Y/N, breathe.” DK murmurs.

“What?”

DK slides his hand onto my knee to stop it from shaking. He rubs his thumb against my kneecap, and the air flows back into my lungs. The tension from my shoulders didn't drop, which he most likely noticed. DK sighed and pulled me close to his chest, trying to help ease the anxious thoughts from my head. A million alarms go off in my head at his touch. All of them told me to step away from him before I can be canceled off the internet.

"Y/N, don't worry about them." His eyes gestured to the crowd of fans in front of the cafe.

“Easier said than done. I already heard someone make a negative comment about Jia.”

“Their negative comments won't change anything about us.” He squeezes my knee before standing up. “I won’t let them hurt you.”

A few officers gather outside, settling down the crowd as we exit. DK interlocks his fingers with mine while holding Jia. He held us closely as the screams filled our ears. Jia’s head wanders around at the girls calling out DK’s name.

The thumping against my chest only accelerates. Suddenly it was hard to breathe. I kept my head down so I knew where I was stepping. The area around us began to shrink, and I could hear the screams getting louder. I jolted forward when someone's body was shoved into me from behind, which resulted in us being lost at sea.

It’s starting. Some of my fears were playing out in front of me.

Jia pressed her hands to her ears and her eyes wide and frantic. She was frozen with fear, and my heart shattered into pieces. DK held her tightly, trying to push through. I didn't know when our hands separated, but I could feel the tears stinging my eyes. Mingyu managed to hold onto me and guide me through the crowd.

Once we reached the car, I held Jia. She wasn't crying, but she held onto me tightly. Her head nuzzled into the crook of my neck. I looked over at DK, and I could see the guilt in his eyes. His hand squeezes my thigh in a silent apology.

“Jia! Come on! Look! We are at the beach now!” I say as the driver pulls into a parking spot.

Jia looks away from her iPad staring at the window. Her eyes browsing to see if it was worth her time to stop watching her favorite show, Bluey. Her eyes widen with curiosity and mouth drops from pure shock spotting something.

“Mama! Mama! Look!” Jia coos, pointing at the sky.

I noticed a large purple and blue butterfly kite soaring through the sky. Jia fussed over the seatbelt and ditched her iPad. I calmly talked to her to be patient while I unbuckled her. She hops out of the car, standing by me. I reached to grab our backpack before telling the driver he was off the rest of the day.

Jia grasps her little fingers around my hand, pulling me towards the sand. Her eyes never leave the sky as she stares at the kite in awe. I smile, watching her giggle as she watches the kite float around. While watching her, I feel someone’s gaze on me. I glance away, searching the beach, when I meet a familiar pair of brown eyes. The corners of his lips rise when I acknowledge his presence.

“Mommy! Picture! Picture!” Jia tugs at the hem of my shorts. “Show Dada!”

“Jia, do you miss Dada?” I asked her, getting down at eye level with her.

She nods her head pouting, “I miss Dada.”

I turn her head slightly towards the right and point to the man dressed in denim shorts and a white button-down with a camera draped around his neck. I watch Jia’s eyes wander around the beach for a few seconds. Her nose scrunches up, trying to figure out who I am pointing at. It takes her a minute then a small gasp leaves her mouth.

“Dada! Dada! Dada!” Jia screams, running down to the shore. Her little feet kicked the sand behind her, and her little pigtails bounced in the air.

“Hi, Princess!” DK engulfed her in his arms, tossed her up in the air, and kissed her temples.

For the past few days, DK has been working long hours. The moment we woke up, he was already out of the apartment, and whenever he came home, we would be knocked out in bed. DK has been calling us in between his breaks, and I try to call him before Jia goes to bed. Even talking on Facetime doesn't fill the hole we feel when he is away. It's been rough few days, but we managed to get through them. Luckily, DK called me earlier to let me know his schedule had been canceled, which led to me, canceling everything I had planned today and making it a spontaneous family day.

Jia wrapped her arms around him, excitedly pointing to the kite she had seen earlier. I scan the beach while walking to the Jia and DK. There weren’t mainly people out today. Only maybe around fifteen people were scattered in small groups. Luckily the beach was pretty large, so there was enough space to enjoy and not worry about someone invading our quality time together.

Jia chases after the ball once DK kicks it away from her. Her laugh echoed from miles away. Vibrant, happy, and sweet. Her feet reel back before slamming it into the ball. Her arms flare out, trying to keep her balance before she falls to the ground. DK immediately rushes over to her, scared that she hurt herself, but she quickly dusts herself off, laughing at herself. I shake my head at her. Jia barely cried whenever she was clumsy.

"Baby!" DK and Jia both looked up at the sound of my voice. I forgot I needed to specify which baby I was talking to. "Come and drink some water. You've been playing for a while, so we need to reapply your sunscreen."

DK scoops Jia in her arms along with the ball, jogging back towards our umbrella. I handed Jia her sippy cup while I applied sunscreen over her face and body. She quietly snacks on the watermelon DK had brought. While I adjusted Jia's Moana-inspired one-piece, I felt DK's body radiating onto mine. The sun shined brightly in the clear sky, but it didn't compare to the heat I felt from DK. He holds up a watermelon slice near my mouth. I shake my head, declining his offer.

"Y/N, you don't want to take a bite of the watermelon? It's sweet."

"DK, I have been stuffing my face with all the snacks we've brought. I am surprised you didn't start your own little store on the beach already."

"To be fair. I didn't know what you girls would want to eat on the beach, so I just bought a little bit of everything. I just wanted to make sure I covered all the snacks." He shrugs.

"Sinta, you could've just brought yourself and I would've been good. I am pretty sure I can be content with your neck to bite on.” I teased.

"Don't tell me your vampire now. I think that's a dealbreaker." He grins, taking another watermelon from the container.

"Whatever you say, King Arthur. We both know it’s not a deal breaker, otherwise you wouldn’t be wearing my markings proudly."

A knowing smile forms on DK matching the smirk on my lips. DK leans in closer pressing his lips to mine. Before DK could pull away I still another kiss deepening it. He bites my bottom lip and a soft groan leaves my lips.

“Who’s the vampire between us now?”

DK chuckles stealing another kiss before Jia grabs his attention. I looked pass DK’s shoulder noticing a few girls standing a few feet away staring at us. They mumble something to each other giggling while smacking one another. When DK lifts his head and browses around they shriek at the movement.

Do they know who he is? They must be fans. I wonder what they are saying. Are they talking about Jia? Did they see us kiss? Would they post about it on the internet? How long have they’ve been there?

“Mama! Play!” Jia calls out, breaking me from my thoughts.

“Yeah, Mama! Come join us!” DK says, dribbling the ball between his feet.

I gently kick water toward Jia, earning a scowl from her. She holds her hands up to her cheeks as her face scrunches to seem scary. Jia roars, chasing after me. I playfully scream while laughing. I find DK and hide behind him, trying to protect myself. He wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me to his front, holding me still. Jia comes running and slams into my body. Her roars louder as she pretends to attack me with her claws. I scream quietly then laughter erupts from the bottom of my stomach, feeling someone else's hands tickle my sides. My body crumbles onto the ground in DK's arms. Jia continued to roar while pretending to eat me, and I tried to fight off DK's tickle attack. My stomach tightens from all the laughter, and the air is suddenly cut off from my throat.

DK carefully entangles himself from me and carries Jia away to give me a chance to recover. "Come here, you little tiger. Let's give Mama some air."

“Traitor! I thought we were a team!” I hissed, looking at DK.

“I couldn’t help it. Look at Jia. It’s hard to not be on her side.” DK places her back on the ground before jogging back to our umbrella to grab something. I dust off my shorts when Jia tugs at the hem.

“Mama! Play! Water? Please!” She coos, pointing at the ocean.

“Yes, but not too far, okay, baby?” I told her.

Jia nods before running closer to the shore of the water. She runs a stick that she found across the wet sand. I take a few photos and videos of her for the sake of memories. Jia screams, running away from the ocean as it crashes into the sand, making me laugh. I look around for DK but find another group of people talking with him before he walks away with a sympathetic smile. I noticed one of the girls had their phone held up to him and another had their phone facing where Jia was.

My mind started to race again with different thoughts. I didn’t like thinking about the possibility of some stranger taking Jia’s photo without consent and just sitting on their phone. DK and I haven’t officially announced our relationship or that we have a daughter together, which isn’t even an obligation to make public with anyone. However, it still didn’t stop the worry I was feeling being here with him in public. DK is used to being in the public eye. Jia and I weren’t. Would this affect his career? Would this hurt him or Jia? I couldn’t help the spiraling thoughts.

"Well, look at the view. It's so beautiful." DK whispers into my ear pulling me out from my thoughts.

"The sunset and ocean does look beautiful today.”

An array of orange and pink fill the sky, mixed against the waves crashing onto the shore. Jia’s laugh fills my ears as the water flows around her ankles. I smiled again as the worries from earlier subsided.

"I wasn't talking about the sunset or ocean, Sinta."

I turn around, finding DK staring at me. The light breeze brushed my hair back as he held his camera, snapping a few stolen shots. I unwrap my arms, trying to hide my face from him. Eventually, he stops, sliding his phone back into his pocket. DK wraps his arms around me from behind, pulling me close to his chest. He rested his chin into the crook of where my shoulder and neck met. His body heat keeps me warm from the light breeze that is starting to pick up.

“The view of the sunset is beautiful, but it doesn’t compare to you.” He whispers, his voice velvety and deep. My heart skipped a bit when he laced his fingers with mine against my abdomen.

A warm sensation pulses through my veins as I rest my head against his chest. I could hear his heart beating faster. A smug smile forms on my lips. I still had that effect on him like he does on me. Whenever I was in DK's arms, it felt like the entire world disappeared, and we were safe from everything. DK presses a trail of kisses at the base of my neck.

“Your flirting skills keep improving, Sinta. Have you been spending too much time with Mingyu again?” My voice soft and teasing.

“Can’t you believe I can be flirty on my own? You know I don’t always need help. I can be charismatic. I mean, I was able to charm my way into you, giving us a second chance.”

“You’ve got a point. I am sorry for doubting you." I turn my head to look up at him. "Where would we have left off if you weren't so charismatic and wormed your way back into my heart?"

"Now you're just teasing me." He chuckles.

"Maybe a little." I laughed before colliding my lips with his.
