I just noticed that in this clip Steve picks up the receiver with his right hand, tosses it to his leftā¦ and then passes it back to his right to clock the guy
I just know that if Steve had a sword or something he would be doing so much extra fancy twirly shit

Hopper accidentally becomes the biggest ally in Hawkins out of hatred for Mike Wheeler. El wants to date Max? Perfect, Mike is terrified of Max. El wants to date Max and Lucas? Even better, more people to keep Mike away. Will comes out to Joyce and Hop? Hopper is immediately studying up on gay culture and flagging so he can find him a Hop ApprovedTM boyfriend. He sees that nice boy Gareth cuff his jeans one time and starts inviting him to family dinner. Mike seems annoyed that Steve is spending more time with Munson? A pamphlet titled āAccepting your Bisexualityā finds its way into Steveās jacket pocket. Hopper has never seen Mike as furious as the day Steve and Munson arrive at dinner holding hands. Itās a good day. Hopper isnāt sure how Nancy dating the Buckley girl will annoy Mike, but heās willing to give it a shot.

That was so underwhelming.
But gods did it suck. Chifuyu just remembers everything and is like crash course, here's what all my friends are doing and then neglects to tell what Takemichi does so I'ma just assume he's still a fucking minimum wage slack worker living in a disgusting apartment and now lives off Hina and Naoto's money. Blegh.
Also, Chifuyu remembering is so dumb. What? Takemitchy still needs pity points for all he went through even though it means nothing now?? Ugh. And is this supposed to make it all better that his friendship with Takemichi was basically erased?? Yeah, nah. Do better.
This ending is so boring and unfullfilling. How anyone can be happy with it is beyond me :/
Anyways

Even though Iām glad everyone is happy in the end, it definitely feels odd because itās at the cost of altering so much history, so many relationships, events, and personalities (all of which we donāt get to see because we only got 1 timeleap chapter) ā¦. It feels kind of like an empty victory

Remember when the characters in Tokyo Revengers would just lie to us. When Mikey lied about who the founders were. When Hakkai lied about protecting Yuzuha. When Mikey lied in the recorded video to Takemichi. When Sanzu lied to Mucho about following him. When Draken lied to Takemichi that Mikey worked overseas. There are so many things in the story that are told one way but just don't seem true. Did Mikey actually kill people in the manila timeline? How is Shin a weak king but so freakishly strong? The Bonten timeline was about a fake happiness. It appeared that people were better off but when we got a look closer look, many carried regrets and were not whole. We were supposed to question character motives and what was actually true in a story where we couldn't rely on the characters to tell us things properly. But now we just have to take everything at face value? We can't question the way the story decided to wrap up? The whole Black Dragon arc was about deception and WHY people lie and put up a front and act as if their life isn't what it actually is. Being able to question media is literally a core part of interacting with it, stop pretending it's not.

my final thoughts on the tokyo revengers ending (this is completely subjective! everyone will have a different opinion on it and if you liked the ending then I'm happy for you!)
now that the "excitement" of reading tr 278 has worn out I can't help but feel even more??? dissatisfied??
I've said this before, but even when we just had the leaks, this chapter felt more like a filler than a finale, and reading it and mulling over it just confirmed my thoughts on the matter.
The most interesting thing (plot-wise) that happens is the big reveal that chifuyu kept all of his memories from the past timelines; and as happy as I was to read that, it surely wasn't "enough" for this to be considered a finale (IMO, remember this is all subjective).
I like it because it's a feel-good chapter, that makes you chuckle at the interactions between the characters and that gives you an idea of how they're all doing.
At the same time tho, the jump between takemichi dying and the takehina wedding is so sudden that it leaves me confused. As plenty of fans have said, this cancels out all the characters' development in a way that we havent seen before (aside from chifuyu), and it doesn't give you the answers you need!! How did they all end up being friends, how did the pre-existing bonds change, how did maitake solve some of the problems, ESPECIALLY the ones they didnt know about/had no control over!!
[EDIT: for example, I would have loved to see shin and takemichi interact more!!!]
yeah, chifuyu knows about takemichi's time travel, but are they still best friends?? why has naoto changed so much?? why is south the way he is now??
ALSO??? takemichi says MAYBE 10 words this chapter???? he looks so passive in the 3 pages he's in, it's like he's barely even there, despite being the protagonist.
idk, it just feels so inconclusive and simple for an ending, especially when compared to how complex the rest of the story is.

I have some serious thoughts about THAT threesome on heartbreak high.
First up, Malakai was assaulted and thereās no other way to look at it. He was physically and emotionally traumatised, drunk, and on drugs that he was taking for the first time. Harper and Dusty are equally awful for doing what they did.
Dusty is a dick for icing out Harper after she participated in a threesome he initiated. However, the way she aired it out in front of everyone was fucked up. Bad to Dusty, who was being sexually humiliated in front of a large group of people. And even worse to Malakai, whose assault was being replayed graphically.
And whoever wrote that note that Missy read out is also awful for not giving Malakai the space to talk about it to Amerie in his own time. Even if he didnāt want to ever do that - which honestly is valid given that he was assaulted.
I think the show did acknowledge how awful the situation was but only a little bit, so justice for Malakai.

Oop they said something about it.
"Malakai gets assaulted by a cop and your first thought is to sleep with him?" "He needed help."
Yes! Missy exactly call her out for it.
Sasha knows it was wrong of Harper too, "nah, you were trying to get you dick wet." "He's Amerie boyfriend."
"Are you seriously slut shaming me right now?" Not Harper trying to turn it around on them after she took advantage of someone in an emotionally state

people commenting on darren and ca$hās relationship and completely pinning the blame on darren is fucked. darren clearly isint being pushy out of purely selfish reasons itās because they literally cannot conceptualize someone valuing them in a partnership outside of sex. To them, they are hard to love and as a consequence they feel as though sex is the only thing they have to offer and value. Thats why they are so pushy towards ca$h about it. Yes, some of their behaviour is aphobic but itās not coming from a place of willful ignorance itās coming from a deep rooted fear that without sexual connection they are worthless. Acting as if ca$h is the only one hurt by this is so near sighted and quite frankly just shitty, one sided analysis that pins anger on a character that doesnāt deserve it.

for anyone who doesnāt know, heartbreak high episode 4 was written by meyne wyatt.Ā an Aboriginal actor and writer who has spoken quite extensively about the police brutality he and his father have been subjected to over the years. the reason iām saying this is because a lot of people from what iāve seen appear to be under the assumption (for some reason) that this episode and the scene depicting police brutality against an Aboriginal teenager and the subsequent aftermath was written by a white person and it wasnāt.Ā

also i think a lot of young folks on tumblr might take the wrong lessons away from quinni and sasha
quinni deserves so much more than sasha; she deserves a partner. all people deserve a partner. not someone who condescends to them and gets off on feeling morally superior for fucking someone who isnāt neurotypical
quinni is a queen and sasha is a mean person who needs to figure out how to be kind and rewind

The funny thing about Sasha and Quinni's argument is that Sasha made it seem like it was so hard to be with Quinni when SASHA MADE IT THAT WAY
The minute Sasha finds out about the autism she treats Quinni differently, immediately infantalizing her, parenting her, and making every thought and behavior about autism. It's only hard because you babysit Quinni in every social interaction. You can just see the difference in the way Darren talks and interacts with her versus the way every other sentence out of Sasha's mouth is autism related
