Day 46: May 2, 2020

Today we didn’t do much but cook. For lunch I made tacos and for dinner we both made stuff. I made whole wheat pasta with pesto and sundried tomatoes and Matt made asparagus and sauted kale. Dessert was ice cream of course.

Day 45: May 1, 2020

Matt and I went on a long bike ride today. I’ve looked up some bike paths around Illinois. They all look really nice. I’m looking forward to trying them out.

Day 44: April 30, 2020

So there is this whipped coffee craze going on. I tried it this morning and it is a craze for a reason. It is so good. It tastes like a cookie.

2 Tbsp instant coffee

2 Tbsp sugar

2 Tbsp boiling water

Whip it up either by hand with a whisk, with beaters, emersion blender, whatever, until it is a thick whipped blob. Pour could oat milk in a glass and put your whipped concoction on top

It was SOOOOO GOOOOOD. I mixed it into the milk a little so you don’t see the separation as much in the pic.

I made a couple quarantine shirts.

I’ve never been very good at word art. I really love it though. This was my attempt at mixing fonts and trying to make it pretty. I like what it says a lot so I’m able to forgive the mistakes I see and the things I would change.

This one is not my art but I loved it so much I wanted to wear it so I made it into a shirt.

Matt and I had groceries to pick up via curb side pick up. It was nice to get out and we used our masks and hand sanitizer.

The way Marvin knows we are gonna go on a walk is when I ask Alexa what the weather is. He looks at the Alexa then at me waiting for me to say the magic words: “Marvin do you want to go for a walk?” He gets right in my face and tilts his head back and forth waiting for me to say it. It is possibly the best part of my day.

I only played Animal Crossing a little today. I had to make sure my little avatar had clean clothes. Today she wanted to be fancy.

Day 43: April 29, 2020

Matt played around on the computer then took a shower while I played Animal Crossing then I played on the computer and took a shower while he played Animal Crossing. Then we had dinner.

I got a lot done on our little island. I got a new room today (my third room) and was given this musical instrument.

I was able chop down some trees and make some benches for the flower garden I made.

After visiting a couple islands and selling some stuff I was able to buy a kitchen counter. I’ve made my second room into a kitchen.

I also made enough to pay this little a-hole the rest of the loan and get the bridge made.

I made myself a little tea to celebrate all my hard work and drank it outside my house..

Matt was able to run around a look at all the fun stuff I made.

This is a little beach area in front of my house. Matt enjoys it too but it’s my beach.

He also went into my house and sat in my chair. Little jerk.

Day 42: April 28, 2020

It was hot and muggy this morning. We took Marvin for a walk anyway. When we got back I started cleaning the basement and got tired so I laid down on the futon to take a nap.

Then we made dinner. We were trying a new technique with tofu. It was supposed to be more firm. It kinda turned into a sweet and sour tofu scramble but it was still pretty good. We had Matt’s famous banana bread for dessert.

Day 41: April 27, 2020

Matt an I went on a longer bike ride today with Marvin. We almost had an oops when we got to the park. He wanted to jump out and play but I was able to stop before he could. We tightened up the harness so he couldn't stand all the way up and played a lot at the park so he was wore out.

After the park we rode around and stopped at another park so he could play some more. On the way home he was so wore out and just relaxed the entire ride home.

Our bikes are so pretty.

Day 40: April 26, 2020

Today we took Marvin in the bike basket. He liked it. He got in super easy and just sat down. While we were riding he was kicked back like he was on the couch. It was super cute. He made the handle bars pretty heavy but not uncontrollable. My arms are just gonna get a work out. I’m so glad he liked it. I was not looking forward to figuring out how to return it safely.

It was so nice to be out riding our bikes. There were a lot of people out today. Everyone was wearing a mask so that was good. Riding a bike though made it so much less stressful. The ease of it made life feel a little bit normal.

Day 39: April 25, 2020

Today was all zooma zoom zoom. The first zoom call was with my family. Nora was able to get on this time.

The screen froze at one point for my Uncle Steve. He was clearly having so much fun with us.

Then matt and i had another zoom call later with the cousins. John zooms really good.

I got a package today from my nephews. LOVE IT.

Marvin zoomed with us all the way.

Day 38: April 24, 2020

We have been making food.

Matt made banana bread! It is SOOOO good.

I forgot to post this last night. I made homemade bbq sauce. It was super good I was super proud of myself.

We ate it with vegan chicken strips and it was yummers.

Day 37: April 23, 2020

Our Stay at Home Order has been extended to May 30th. GOOD.

Today my family and I did our first ZOOM call. It started with just my sister.

Then we got my Mom and Dad and my Nephews on. Which was surprisingly easier than I thought it would be. My mom though was pretty close to the camera at first.

We tried to add Nora but only got far enough to see her iPad.

We also got some groceries today and I have to say our snack table it pretty stocked. We got a whole box of Blow Pops and Chico Sticks.

The blow pops did exactly what they were supposed to do.

and Marvin was there the entire time looking as marvelous as always.

Day 36: April 22, 2020

It was a rainy day today so I stayed inside made some stuff, played video games, and watched a movie.

I made us a grocery bag. It represents my hopes for the future, both in that we will one day be bringing our own grocery bags to the store again and maybe some peas.

We bought a basket for Marvin to ride the bikes with us. We haven’t tried it yet because the inside was scratchy. Today I made a liner for him.

I put a pillow inside for his little butt.

My sister recommended the movie Birds of Prey: The Emancipation of Harley Quinn.

It was a very good popcorn movie!

The last two nights Matt and I have stayed up way too late watching a couple things that I recommend. Be prepared to be angry with our “justice” system though.

Waco There is so much about this story that I didn’t know.

And The Innocence Files. It goes over a few cases taken on by the Innocence Project and tells each one in depth. It is infuriating.

I also spent time today playing Animal Crossing. I made a cute outfit for my avatar and sat in a swing with a chicken and had a nice conversation.

Day 35: April 21, 2020

I got my bike today. HOORAY

Matt and I had to put her together.

While we were removing the packaging Matt cut his hand pretty badly. It looked deep. Any other time we probably would have went to the emergency or urgent care for stitches but we DID NOT want to do that. The cut is between his thumb and his first finger right were it bends. I put bandaids across it to pull the skin together and wrapped it with medical tape so he couldn’t move his thumb and open it up again.

After we wrapped him up we continued with the bike and I was undoing everything and I cut my finger. It was much smaller that Matts and I was fixed up quickly.

So between the two of us we got her put together. I named her Yellow Bell Pepper. I will call her pepper for short.

Matt was clearly looking forward to trying them out cause he was wearing his helmet while I finished getting my shoes on.

Then we were off.

Day 34: April 20, 2020

Today I worked on the flower garden in the front yard. I planted white daisies and violas. The bees and butterflies are supposed to like them and they are perennial so we won’t have to plant and re-plant.

I forgot to take a picture so here is a stock photo of what they should look like when they grow in.

Tonight we had grown up buttered noodles.

Day 33: April 19, 2020

Today was so nice outside. Matt and I were gonna go to the Forest Preserve and walk around. We drove there and the parking lot was packed. We went on to a park near our house with a giant lake to walk around. We figured it would be open enough to keep correct social distancing protocol. We got out and started walking around and saw so many groups of people. Parents were letting their kids play on the playground ignoring signs saying it was closed and only a few people were wearing masks. We couldn’t do it. We got back in the car and came home and played badminton.

Playing games in our backyard is perfectly fine with us. We have the most comfy outside chairs ever. They remind me of those bouncy chairs for babies. I see why they love them.

The long shadow from our big tree looks very cool in a wide shot with Marvin’s Mug.

Day 32: April 18, 2020

I started off my day great. I woke up early. I took a shower. After I put my makeup on I realized I didn’t wash the conditioner out of my hair. I was not going to retake a shower after I was ready. My hair was sticky all day. I had to retake my shower tonight. #nailedit

I got kicked off a crafting FB group today. I’ve never been kicked off a FB group before. I follow an instagram account called Badass Cross Stitch. I feel like they are more my speed. Here is one of their free patterns. If you are looking for something to do this Pandemic I recommend checking them out.

We played a game today. My sister, Matt and I had a spirited debate. My sister and I are not familiar with the term “bags” or “cornhole.” Matt asked us what we would call the game and we both agreed Bean Bag Game. Matt and I are getting better at Bean Bag Game.

Have you ever felt like someone was looking at you judging you for not washing the conditioner out of your hair?

Day 31: April 17, 2020

The snow today was kinda pretty. I love it when it falls in big billowy pieces. It was nice to wake up to. I guess tomorrow is supposed to be nice. Today I didn’t do a lot. I asked Alexa what the day was today, found out the weather for tomorrow, I ate left overs, watched youtube and played candy crush.
