Toy Display update.

Hey everyone, I know I don't post here as often as I used to, but I decided to post pretty much all of the figures that I currently have on display, just because.

I have to admit, I'm not liking the updates here. There was a time I could organize all the pictures in the order that I wanted them, and then type in my descriptions and comments.

However it seems now I can't create a new line above or below a picture like I used to. For future posts I guess I'll have to learn to plan ahead better.

Ghostbusters

This is a set I got back in 2015 for Christmas and then...never got around to putting it together....

Well, I decided to change all that, because on Mar 23, 2024, the same weekend as the premiere of Ghostbusters Frozen Empire I decided to finally live stream a Lego build (My second one, actually)

I was actually inspired to do Lego builds because for Christmas (2023) I got my girl friend Van Gogh's Starry Night (She loves Starry Night) and she's never built a Lego set before. She spent a week putting it together, with only a little help from me in the beginning.

So it just kinda got me thinking, and inspired me to do the Ghostbusters & The Yellow Submarine sets (will get into that at another post).

The Ghostbusters:

Peter, Egon, Ray & Winston are all represented here in Lego form.

I thought ti was pretty funny how all the figures have alternate scared faces that are opposite sides.

If I were to voice one complaint about this set it's that you get to build four proton pack and one ghost trap, but there's no PKE meter. Like, what the heck?

Ecto-1:

The Ecto-1 was of course the star of this show, and the most fun to put together.

Here are the completed Ghostbusters and Ecto-1 along with the Beatles yellow Submarine, some nanoblock Pokemon, and Van Gogh's Starry Night.

Collector’s Card:

Tigatron comes packaged with the Unicron card, and might I add, FINALLY!

Beast Mode:

Tigatron’s beast mode (if you haven’t already figured it out) it a white tiger.

You can see a little of yellowing in the white plastic. It’s not as bad as some of the other figures, but it’s there. I don’t really mind it as much on Tigatron since he’s a beast, and the fur is probably not really supposed to be pure white, however this is probably one of these rare times where I think it works out for the toy.

You can store Tigatron’s gun under his belly; there’s a 5mm port there.

Transformation:

They don’t share parts because Tigatron is a voyager and Cheetor is a deluxe, but his there transformation is virtually identical.

Robot Mode:

I really dig this Tigatron.

Aside from the white plastic, Tigatron’s also got some pearlescent white, which looks so good.

Accessories:

Final Thoughts:

Kingdom Tigatron is a really cool toy.

He poses well, is fun to transform, I love that head sculpt.

In spite of the yellowing of the white plastic (which appears to be minor on mine) I don’t really mind it on him. Hopefully the yellow won’t get any worse...

This repaint version of Kingdom Galvatron, and arrived at my doorstep on 12-05-21. is based on the original G1 toy which was mostly gray. The figure also came with a sticker sheet much like the original G1 Galvatron toy would have come with.

I’m not going to lie I really hate applying stickers to a toy.

One: They never last forever because of wear ‘N tear.

Two: They are usually a struggle to apply correctly, and I don’t enjoy having to adjust them over and over again.

But, I ended up applying most of the stickers onto the toy, and I didn’t regret it.

Cannon mode:

The cannon barrel (much like the G1 toy) us made out of translucent orange plastic with metallic flakes. I really like it.

Cannon Mode (with stickers):

I applied many of the stickers onto the cannon mode, and I have to say they do sort of help pop.

Robot mode:

Without the stickers applied, Galvatron is adequate, however i went through the tedious process of applying most of them.

Gavatron poses well, and he looks great, however for some reason the 5mm port on his right bicep must be a tad bigger than his other 5mm ports, because this one doesn’t hold the laser cannon well.

I do have to say Galvatron looks really good with the stickers added. I didn’t apply every sticker to the toy, mostly because of the hassle. There were some stickers which were supposed to go around the purple crown on Galvatron’s head buuuuut they were really small. Maybe one day, but not today.

Accessories:

Gen Selects Gavatron comes with all the same accessories as the Kingdom one did.

One thing to not is that his Matrix is a metallic green, much like it was in the old Marvel comicbooks.

Robby The Robot

Today I would like to talk about the 'Forbidden Planet' Light & Sound Walking Robby the Robot by Golok. It was a Wal-Mart exclusive figure which crept up sometime in early 2020. It was an open box with buttons available to press, and also which came out that year was the Iron Giant.

So for almost three years this toy sat in my basement, unopened, until last year when I finally got around to opening it. (link to my YouTube channel will be down below).

Forbidden Planet was one of my favorite movies which premiered in 1956, starring leading man Leslie Neilson. Yes, that Leslie Neilson. One of the break out characters was Robby The Robot, and he has made few other appearance in science fiction over the decades.

Anyway, let's talk about this:

I grew up in the 80s. And as a kid I had a lot of toy robots and toy cars which had lights and sounds, and some of them walked around.

This toy is totally hits me hard in the nostalgia.

The toy stands about 10 inches tall, and mostly made out of black plastic.

The body and overall design is pretty typical of the 1950′s version of a robot, and it has a lot of cool analog computer bits under the head dome.

The arms are ball joints and have limited range of motion, and the wrists swivel.

All this computer detail looks really nice, but I with some of these parts moved a bit while the robot is walking.

I wish I has more toys I could display him with, but he does look pretty good on a shelf.

Man-At-Arms is a staple character from the Masters of the Universe story. He’s the inventor, the warrior, He-Man’s council, & father to Teela.

This version of Man-At Arms is from the MOTU Revelation series, and it’s a pretty good figure.

My only issue with the toy is that the left arm guards can be a little loose at times, and just kind of swivel around the arm and you have to occasionally readjust them.

I love the head sculpt.

Boba Fett

The Galaxy of Adventures toyline was very short lived.

Taller than the 3.75in figures, shorter than 6in figures, & stylized off of the animated shorts, this toyline was probably doomed from beginning because it couldn’t really fit in either collection.

But they were kinda fun, they looked cool, and the action gimmicks were great.

Boba Fett looks cool just standing there.

Boba Fett’s action gimmick was the jet pack could fire a spring-loaded missile.

That’s it. I like it. Too bad there won’t be any more of them.

Clone Trooper (Holiday Edition)

This really is the silliest idea to mix Star Wars & Christmas, and yet I love buying these guys.

This figure is that Republic Clone Trooper. No changes to the mold; it’s all holiday repaint.

Any flaws of this figure are the same as any of the Clone Troopers made of this mold, such as limitations in articulation due to the armor being a little restrictive, or the feet being a little curved, making standing a challenge at times.

Otherwise, I really like the holiday Clone Trooper.

I have no idea what this weapon is supposed to be, but I’m pretty sure it’s not Star Wars related.

I’m guessing it’s something totally original made specifically for this holiday figure, or Hasbro appropriated it from Fortnight, or something. I don’t really know.

It’s a Porg wearing a scarf.

I really love the Deathstar II Christmas sweater he’s wearing. It’s so silly.

Is it canon? Who cares; it’s just fun!

Invisible Woman

I don’t remember exactly when I got this figure, but after I brought it home I just couldn’t open it because I really liked the packaging.

However on 02-15-22 I found this same figure on clearance for $14, and I had to pick that up so I could open it.

No review other than I think the figure is solid, and she stands well.

You have NO idea how difficult it was to balance Sue Storm like this. But I managed to do it.

First post of 2024, and timeline-wise I’m still posting figures that I got in 2021. Yea, that’s on brand for me...

I have to say this was the luckiest of breaks for me (at the time, before he could be found everywhere during Legacy).

I was out at a Target on 11-20-21, shopping with my girlfriend when I stumbled upon two on the shelf. I and just about everyone else has been looking for Kingdom Galvatron for months and I suppose the scalpers weren’t paying any attention that day.

I feel like it’s taken me forever to finally get to Galvatron. I’ve said this in the past I like to post my figures in the order of which I buy then, and since I’ve kind of been on hiatus I guess it has taken forever.

Collector’s Card:

I’ll be honest here; I don’t remember what card came packaged with Galvatron, but I do remember being underwhelmed, which means it was probably either another Dinobot or a Blackarachnia.

I would have preferred each Kingdom character getting their own card...

Canon Mode:

We all know that classic purple cannon.

This is a pretty heft laser cannon. It’s not quite show accurate to the old G1 cartoon or toy design, but the most important elements are still there, and there’s lots of sculpted detail.

So fun fact: when I was a kid I though Galvatron was an oil tank because my childhood home was heated by oil and a big tank in the basement, and that was the only thing I could equate to Galvatron.

Comparing Kingdom Galvatron to the Titans Return version.

Transformation:

Transformation is actually really fun. It did take me a little bit of getting used to, but I thought it was satisfying.

Robot Mode:

Galvatron’s robot mode is such a fun figure!

He stands well, he poses well and I love that head sculpt. My ONLY complaint is that the 5mm port on the arm cannon is a little loose so it doesn’t always hold its position.

Of course the laser cannon is blast compatible.

Accessories:

Galvatron’s accessories are his cannon (in two parts), Matrix & chain necklace, and two hand guns which can combine into one.

The Matrix is the same used for Earthrise Optimus & Kingdom Rodimus. Hasbro’s really getting some mileage out of this one piece.

If you pay close attention you might notice that the guns resemble Galvatron’s space ship in the 1986 movie.

The guns can be stored on his back in two different ways.

Final Thoughts:

Kingdom Galvatron is such a cool figure. He’s fairly common to find now for the Legacy toyline, but back in 2021 it wasn’t easy tracking one down.

I’m not a big fan of the two hand guns, but I could always give them to someone else.

At this point I’m pretty sure we’ll be getting a Studio Series 86 Galvatron, eventually, but this guy is pretty darn close to it I’m betting the 86 one will be a retool of this guy.

Today after work, I decided to stop by my local Ross retail store and was lucky enough enough to finally find a Transformers Legacy Velocitron Speedia 500 Crasher, which was incredibly difficult to find a d got it for about $8.

After I stopped by my local comicbook store and bought a Transformers Legacy Deathsaurus. Yea, just a typical day for me...

Oh yea, I also got Buzzworthy Bumblee Terrorsaur too.

I’ll keep things brief, this guy kinda sucks. He looks pretty cool, with the flame thrower and the pack, but he doesn’t stand well at all, which is why he’s on a display stand.
