You know what scene I’m going to be distraught if we don’t get in the show (due to it being cancelled after season 1 or any other reason)?

The sirens scene in Sea of Monsters.

Percy with his wax ear plugs. Annabeth having him tie her to the mast so she can listen. The frantic swim toward the beach when she escapes. Percy seeing her siren dream when he catches up to her. Percy and Annabeth hugging at the bottom of the ocean.

I will be distraught if we don’t get to see that.

Well, it’s certainly been a year, but I can’t imagine 2024 will be any better.

Seriously, has anyone noticed that things get extraordinarily crappy every 4 years? 2016 killed a bunch of our idols like Bowie and Prince, and 2020 sent us into a plague-infested race-war which we are still suffering from. And it has always been US election years.

Couple in the superstition that every 80 years are big determiners of how life marches on, and how we’re coming up on that 80-year mark… I want this next year to go good, but I just don’t think I have the confidence in it.

Here’s to 2024 folks, May we finally get a break from the Bloody Twenties (I am asking the fates politely).
