In 2019 I had the privilege of calling the Guitar Store (on Aurora) my studio. Not only was it a really cool guitar shop but the people that worked and taught there were all amazing musicians. They were also super nice dudes! It was awesome. I loved it! The best part was I got the privilege to talk to these amazing musicians and learn from their own music journey. One thing that stands out is learning some sweet slide stuff from Matt Clifford aka Chewy. He blew my mind. If you get a chance check out his stuff. You won’t be disappointed. It so good! He does some amazing Beatles covers with the slide. When I learn a new technique I write a song to get better at it. It’s more fun that way and sometimes you get a cool song out of it. The main guitar part is all slide with travis picking. Which was so fun! While I was working on this song I had talked to my 20 year old brother in law who was trying to get into audio engineering. We decided to record this song as his first ever full band single. was the guinea pig. Well fast forward a year and a half and at least 20 something mixes and re-recordings and I think we’ve got it. At least to our still learning selves. The song is about not putting all your hopes and dreams into one person and learning to love and accepts our differences. Special thanks to Rob Gregerson for playing the Organ. To Steve Hardin on Drums. To Levi Seitz from black belt mastering for mastering it. And to all the amazing people who gave their feed back and insight. I present to you False Stars. Enjoy!
