Something else I want to point out is how it’s cannon Carlos calls TK “Tyler” in serious situations or when it’s just them two talking which I love! It’s also loved how Carlos is the ONLY one who can call him that. In season 1 episode 2 (don’t quote me on the episode but during the police station scene) when Carlos had called him Tyler Kennedy, TK groaned at the sound of it but now he allows him to call him that freely and it’s truly amazing.

Side Note: It’d be hilarious if in season 5 there was a scene of TK telling him that he’s gotten very used to using his government name

Now I’m going to do a full review later but I want to point out something in episode 17 and 18 that i’ve seen no one point out yet.

I want to talk about Carlos putting on his tie and TK helping him. Notice how before TK walks up, Carlos is trying his hardest to stay composed. It isn’t until TK comes behind him that it starts to wear off and we see him slowly breaking. Then when TK starts helping him with his tie because his hands are shaking too much to do it himself, he stops trying to hide and begins crying. I love the symbolism for this because it proves that he can’t hide from TK. He can try to fake it as much as he wants and hide from himself but not from TK.

I will also like to point out how he is wearing his father’s suspenders. The ones Gabriel’s actor (Benito Martinez) posted on his instagram page of a little behind the scenes.

I will write a full commentary and review later but safe to say that this was the best finale 9-1-1: Lone Star has had so far.

TK and Carlos are interviewed to be part of a documentary about the 126 and their adventures. They get a little off course and begin talking about their own dangers and gives a glimpse into the effect it has over their relationship.

“Thank you guys for having us here.” The interviewer says as TK and Carlos got mic’d up and comfortable into their chairs.

“Of course! We would love to go through the craziness of the past few years with you.” Carlos replied sarcastically.

"What my fiancé means to say is we're happy to be here." TK replies with a cut eye towards Carlos.

"Yes, we're happy to be here. Would you guys like any tea?" Carlos asks with a smile on his face.

"No, thank you. We'd like to get started. So, TK since being at the 126, you have been in a lot of danger?" The interviewer asks.

"Well, I wouldn't say a lot of danger. Danger itself comes with the job of being a first responder," TK responds. He's become used to the questions about his injuries and at this point, it's routine.

"That's very heroic of you and when was the first time you were put into danger coming to the 126?"

"It was when I was shot by a little kid. I went into a coma and lost my memory of the incident. Since then, my memory has restored."

"Was that the only coma you had been in?"

"God no," Carlos interrupts answering the question. Both TK and the interviewer looks over to him. "I-I just meant that you have been in more comas than the average person."

"I don't think that's fair," TK defends.

"TK, babe, I love you, but you run towards the danger, not away from it." Carlos remarks.

"Okay, but that's apart of the job. It's our job to help people, and to be fair, you've put yourself in a fair amount of danger."

"I-" Carlos begins before he is cut off by the interviewer.

"So you both have had your share of danger? Carlos, do you think yours comes from being connected to the 126 or was there danger before TK came into your life?" He asks. There's a pause as Carlos ponders on the question. He looks to see TK staring at him with an unreadable look on his face.

"I would rather not answer that." Carlos states awkwardly.

"No, please do. I'm quite curious to know also." TK says whilst crossing his legs, his focus full on Carlos.

TK and Carlos have been having problem. To try to resolve their problems, they seek professional help, forcing them to talk about pent up feelings on situations that are still effecting them today.

“So why are you two here today?”

The question was so simple yet neither of them knew how to answer it. Why are we here? How did we get here? They both thought to themselves as they sat on a couch across from a woman they knew nothing about but somehow was about to know all about them. TK looks over to Carlos but he isn’t even looking at him. He’s looking straight forward at a painting on the wall. Why can I no longer see him? TK thinks to himself.

“Well, for me, I’ve been feeling disconnected from Carlos lately.” TK starts. After all, this was his idea and they weren’t paying to sit on a couch for an hour saying nothing, in that case, they could’ve stayed home.

“Why have you been feeling disconnected from Carlos?” She asks in a way that TK has grown used to. It’s calm and collected but also steady and cautious; not too calm to be comfortable but not too cautious to make you question even being there.

“There seemed to have been a lot of problems lately and he’s started drowning himself in work which I’ve started thinking was a way to get away from me.” TK answered truthfully. He finally sees, out of the corner of his eye, Carlos breaks his look from the painting to look at him. She writes it down and as she writes, TK can still see Carlos looking.

“Carlos, how have you been feeling? Have you felt disconnected from TK in any way?” She asks Carlos. TK finally looks back at him and when he does, Carlos looks down. He just looks down.

“I haven’t felt disconnected, but I also don’t know how to approach him without thinking everything will blow up.” Carlos says in a voice that makes him seem much smaller than he actually is. It’s a voice that TK has grown a strong dislike to.

“Why do you think everything will blow up?” She asked. So many questions. It’s probably one of the few things TK doesn’t like about therapy. There are times you don’t know answers and to not know the answers is to not figure out what’s actually going on.

“I don’t know, I guess it’s like what he said, there’s been a lot of problems and they seem to center around me.”

“What have been the problems you two have been having lately?”

This time both of them go silent. They’re not looking at one another and this is taken note of. If we can’t talk to each other, how are we going to talk to her? After a minute passes, TK decides to speak.

Ronen Instagram Live 1/22/23 takeaways.

Episode 8 will be the 50th episode and it will have a beautiful scene with TK and Owen that will provide answers with their relationship. 

- 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, & 10 are Ronen’s favorite Tarlos episodes with Episode 12 having crazy Tarlos scenes in them.

- There will be shining moments for Carlos this season. 

- Episode 4 will have the TK & Gabriel scenes. 

- Episode 7 will possibly have the TK & Mateo rescue he was not sure. 

- Lastly, he emphasized at the end of the live that episode 12 is real big

MINI RANT:

I’ve been seeing a lot about Porsche not doing the right thing and truthfully I disagree. Porsche is the care giver. He’s CONSTANTLY putting others above himself. His whole existence was about making sure Chay was safe and he did anything for him, including joining the mafia to be able to provide Chay schooling and so his uncle debt could be paid. Should he have put Pete in that position? No, but he was doing what ever he could to finally find out the truth by any means necessary, including involving Vegas because he knew he couldn’t care less about betraying the main family. A lot of people are also saying he should’ve told Kinn, but that’s the problem. If he had, it would’ve put Kinn against his family and because he loves him, he keeps him out of it and takes Chay somewhere safe. Porsche has been lied to. He’s finally putting himself first to discover what truly happened to his parents. His not a bad friend or boyfriend for that. If he is being selfish, he deserves the right to be.

FINALLY watched Ep 9 and I have to say I think reading Kinn’s conflict as whether to trust/choose Tawan versus Porsche is totally off base. 

The real conflict is Kinn’s role as mafia heir versus the ‘real’ Kinn being in love with Porsche (cough STRUCTURE vs AGENCY cough)

They even lay it out right at the start of the episode! 

Porsche tells Tawan that Kinn will do whatever is best for his family, and Tawan replies that maybe Kinn will instead do what’s best for his heart. 

LIKE!!!! That’s THEE central conflict that I’ve been blabbering about and waiting for!!

Kinn stuck in his role as the head of the family, with all these responsibilities and limitations, unable to act on his own desires. VERSUS Kinn exercising his free will, choosing Porsche and loving Porsche and treating Porsche differently/specially to the detriment of his own ‘mafia prince’ image and the well-being of his family

And that’s what Kinn is pushed into in this episode!! Porsche’s little poolside chat with Vegas, Porsche bugging Tawan’s room, BOTH OF THEM COMMUNICATING FOR SHIT, it all pushed Kinn into a corner! 

He can either do what’s ‘right’ as the heir/for his family and lock Porsche up (note that later Korn even TELLS Kinn he was right to do this!!) or he can completely firebomb all that and choose Porsche, completely irrationally and despite all evidence to the contrary

Right now he’s trying to have it both ways by locking Porsche up but then clearing his name somehow, in a way his family will accept (beyond just ‘but daddy I love him!)

That won’t work, long term. 

Kinn is going to have to make a choice, or Porsche is going to have to cut part of himself off so he can fit into the structure that exists around Kinn.

Here there is a good point brought up, it is CONTINUOUSLY argued that Kinn should trust Porsche but where’s Porsche trust in Kinn? He said that he knew he would trust him when Vegas came but yet and still there were doubts of it all.

in this scene porsche says again “you never trust me.” but this is not true. kinn DID trust him when he let him go from the prison. kinn never believed tawan that porsche was the mole. kinn’s face here is imploring - like in the “ai kinn...” scene, he is begging porsche with his eyes to see him and trust HIM this time. kinn already trusts porsche. but now it is porsche’s turn to trust kinn. he did not trust kinn enough not to escape with vegas, or to not believe he would fall for tawan’s lies. porsche’s face here is first hurt/angered, but a flicker of recognition is there. he understands what kinn is saying - he’s reminding porsche of all this. and when porsche’s resolve breaks and he reels kinn in for a kiss, it’s a confirmation and a promise. i won’t doubt you again. i promise to trust you.

(now even tho I know the whole “I’m on your side” scene still has to happen with kinn pointing a gun at him, we also know that it is resolved quick enough for kp to shoot together AND for kinn to touch up on him during the shootout scene. so whatever it is that has to happen - it still won’t break them.)

THISSS. especially how he kisses him when porsche days he doesn’t trust him.

we often get "i have trust issues but you are different" trope in shows and whilst that is really cute and romantic there's something about kinn not being able to outright say out loud that he does trust porsche even though his actions clearly show it...it's just so realistic. same with him not being able to drop the L word. it's hard for him but he's really trying and he will get there but it'll take time and that's realistic. i just love how well this show has done with characterisation

Episode 10:

- Kinn putting his gun down when Porsche asks him to trust him. This proves that Kinn does in fact trust Porsche.

- I kind of felt bad for Tawan. Just a little. His need of love from Vegas was so pathetic that it just made me feel bad for him in the end.

-BIG. He did a full 360 and surprised a lot of us. I’m gonna miss him.

- Ken…i lowkey forgot about him ngl.

- Kim/Chay. I think we forget that Kim is apart of a Mafia family because we don’t see it so often. He came out and surprised the living crap outta me. Though when Porsche finds out about him and Chay, that’s gonna be hilarious.

- I’m happy that Porsche finally saw why he couldn’t trust Vegas and understands what Kinn was warning him from all along.

- VEGAS/PETE. Pete resilience is what surprises me. He puts up a fight and this storyline is about to be a rollercoaster.

Questions:

- How do we go from the end of this episode to the “I’m on your side” scene?

- Will it have something to do with Porsches family?

- Will Kinn be stepping down?

- Will Kim be shown more?

- Would it even be POSSIBLE for Kinn to step down or will it continue to be up to him? and would he even want to?

The way Kinn pulled Porche into a kiss after he said he doesn’t trust him like he was tired and fed up of hearing him doubt his trust for him had my heart in shambles. I love this episode so much.

Thinking back to how Kinn says “I trust no one.” At the end of episode 9, it’s made to seem like he trusts Tawan. At the beginning of the episode, Tawan is asking for this trust, however, Kinn suspects him to be working with Vegas. HE DOESNT TRUST TAWAN. He puts emphasis on those words to allow for Porsche to know he isn’t siding with Tawan and he doesn’t trust him.

- Though he does trust Porsche, its suspected that he doesn’t and you guys are too quick to hate on Kinn for it. He saw Porsche with Vegas on more than one occasion and then he finds him following him and bugging Tawans room. Though he knows Porsche is to be trusted, that also doesn’t show a good case for Porsche. Just saying.

- ALSO the disappointing look from Porsche when he’s hoping for Kinn to show up but instead it’s Vegas BREAKS MY HEART ❤️‍🩹

Hello love bugs, so I watched Hello Devil to see Nicholas Galitzine play a queer character and I now have no doubt in my mind that he will do Prince Henry justice. The character he portrayed in Handsome Devil, Connor, and Henry are very similar and originally I thought it was a typecast moment but they did a really good job with casting there. I believe Taylor will do a great job with Alex and I have faith in RWRB.

That’s why i think he’s playing Tawan. It made no sense to me of how he would believe Tawan over Porsche and there’s the fact that he knows Porsche was doing that because of his relationship to Kinn, not his relationship with the mafia. People are playing checkers, Kinns playing chess.

no bc I don't think I've ever seen Kinn so easily swayed before. I get that he's soft-hearted, but fuck me, Tawan has been back in his life for what - a week? And he barely hears Porsche out when he decides to lock him up.

If he suspects Porsche of being the mole in any way he's an idiot bc there is no possible way that Porsche has been doing this job long enough to have formed an alliance with one of the families and started playing double agent.

To add on: If Kinn gets there too late, he may think that Porsche has officially emotionally betrayed him with Vegas.

Kinn has a plan and is using (an unwitting) Porsche!

So what Kinn did was fucking dumb as hell and I'll always be part of the Porsche Protection Possie. But Kinn has a plan.

Now I know Kinn was already feeling off ever since he saw Porsche with Vegas, particularly since he suspects Vegas. So he was genuinely hurt and pissed at Porsche for his little surveillance stunt (take notes, Pete). Now Porsche and Tawan (dumb bitch- derogatory) put him in a bind.

People are aware someone is making a move on Kinn and the main family. They are aware of who Tawan is plus what he's done, and they are aware there is a mole (well at least Big and the Musketeers are).

So Kinn (angry and distrustful) has only a few choices;

He can lie, claim he ordered Porsche to bug the room and/or follow them. Tawan will see through that and can use it against him.

He can give Porsche a lenient punishment; that's not going to go down well with any of the other bodyguards when there's already high suspicion. (Plus Papa Korn approves)

So he expresses his anger, retreats to becoming the cruel prince and punishes Porsche. But I think he came up with a quick plan.

Let Tawan think that he's won. Lull him in a false sense of security and let him expose himself. Hence asking his dad to trust him (and Papa Korn knows it's not Porsche)

I think that he plans to tell Porsche later what his plan is and make it right with him as he says.

Now I think that whatever his plan is, Porsche doesn't know like Korn Kinn is playing the game here and using Porsche as a piece to lower his enemies' defences. If is (most likely) Vegas, his interest in Porsche will come handy.

But it's gonna backfire; Porsche will think Kinn doesn't trust him or love him and that's gonna cause the rift that will lead to this scene.
