MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!!!

I just watched the miraculous ladybug movie and it was amazing. 9.5/10 Total gold, but my only complaint is that they didn’t play the wall between us in the movie and that was the song I was looking forward to the most so that was very sad when at the end of the movie I didn’t hear the song that I was the most exited for😭

I laughed, I happy stimmed with glee, I cried, and repeat. Overall 100000/10

Quick disclaimer: Don’t agree with this choice. Yet, I also don’t blame her.

But I can see why.

I read an article about the top 10 kindest cartoon protagonists (Marinette just happened to be on the list). In addition to what a commenter said about thinking about Adrien’s future (in terms of custody and what ifs), the other part of the reason is that Marinette sees the good in others to a fault. 

The kwamis warned her, but she (somehow) thinks that she saw that deep down, Gabriel cares about Adrien (which could be due to perception - we the audience are let in FAR more information than Marinette, and perception/POV is key in decision-making). Additionally, her nightmare from the Akuma was that Adrien would be upset if she k!lled or something bad happened to Gabriel while she was protecting/defending Adrien. 

With kindness to a fault, not many great decisions can be made, especially since Gabriel manipulated/gaslit the situation to garner “sympathy” even though he does not deserve it. After all, it was in his final wish and what may have been included in The Wish*.

And Marinette may or may not know this (at least the part in which Gabriel does not deserve to be “spared”/something along those lines)

I genuinely do have to ask what people mean when they say that Marinette wanted to "spare" Gabriel when she tried to reach out to him in "Recreation"

I'm so deep in the Gabriel/Agreste family perspective that I too can't see it anymore what she tries to do here, just like Gabriel didn't

As stupid as the question may sound now but can somebody clue me in on what her attempt here was? The man was dying anyway in a couple of hours, Nathalie would have stayed gone too and everything that the Agreste's ever were would either go to hell or Tomoe would take it and that means Adrien would have remained parentless and had to pay the price for all his family's sins and mistakes (not to mention what Tomoe would have done to Adrien).

What exactly was she trying to propose? How exactly was she "sparing" him?
