Procrastinating posting yet again but things just seem busy and hard lately 🤷🏻 (says the person who actually has nothing but going to work going on).
Made it through a rainy 10k on Saturday with a new PR so that was pretty good! @jbrightraven started out walking with me and got in 4 miles walking in the rain which seems much more miserable than running in it (she’s pretty badarse to slog through the dreariness for her goal).
(Note to self the wet shirt nipple chafe-age definitely sucked so be sure to put something on them next time whilst setting out in the rain 😂 😭)
Anyways after the run we headed out tho the city with the 2 youngest and got some rainy day soup dumplings for lunch and they were soooo good and it was just a really good day overall!!!
There were tornadoes locally though that did some damage a few miles west of us but thankfully we weren’t impacted.

(So this was my Saturday that I’m posting about at nearly midnight Monday night)
No running group tonight as I’m working night shift and not much else on the agenda all week so hoping things will just be kind of chill.
Slept in a bit this morning but still got plenty done - housework, leg & core workout (felt so good after a few weeks having no time whatsoever to do a proper workout!) shower, ready for work. Worked 1-9pm and it went over waay quicker than I would have liked. Christmas rush is officially here 🥲
Had a crappy couple of mental health days but I put my music on and worked out and surprise surprise it fixed me right up. Here are some pics of Maggie when we went to visit Nanna Mary on Thursday and snuggling her blankie last night:
And some fitblr stuff because I actually did some exercise today bc the in-laws were coming and I had been in bed with an acute sense of impending doom all afternoon absolutely dreading them coming. Didn't bother to write down what I did bc it was a bit of all sorts, I was just doing what I felt like to get some endorphins. It did the trick, I took photos to remind myself I am strong and I am okay and that even the worst feelings do pass.. even though that concept feels impossible at the time. I also managed to hit 10k steps today after a depression day yesterday meant I only got 7k. Baby steps! Happy Saturday anyway, hope everyone's having a lovely weekend 💜

First ever half marathon done!! Just under 2 1/2 hours, which I’m decently happy with ☺️ Big shout out to my adorable family for being my support on the day 🙏✨ and for wearing fake moustaches with me haha, it was a Movember event after all!
The route was a lot hillier than I’d been anticipating, it was beautiful but pretty brutal. Had to take quite a few walk breaks to get my heartrate under control (I get super nauseous if I let my heartrate stay too high and it was already up because of all the excitement/adrenaline). But that meant I could enjoy the scenery and chat to some of the other casual runners too, which was really lovely!
Recovery today hasn’t been too bad, I’m already planning more races I want to try! 😂 really want to try a point A to point B race instead of a one with so many laps, and some 10k races and park runs. A small part of me feels this doesn’t “count” because of the walking, but I’m still proud of my attempt and I can always try again in the next race.

Hello!! Back from a long, loooong accidental hiatus to say that this dummy (me) is about to run their first half marathon tomorrow!
It’s been a tumultuous couple of months haha. Had to cancel my original half marathon in September after succumbing to covid, and then recover, retrain and find a new race- the Morunning Movember half marathon! 🏃♂️
Please wish me luck- I’m so nervous and excited to try this!! Any tips or support super appreciated 💕🔥

The UK is currently having a heatwave and I've been making the most of it with the wife and kids,there's been plenty of family walks a agricultural show a classic car show and a day at the beach and a lovely solo bike ride .🌞
