Satharion - 46
46.... out of envy or jealousy.
Sathia fumed. Casual, she thought to herself. You said you wanted to keep it casual. It was a mantra she repeated every time that blonde shifter ran her hand along Tharion’s muscular forearm.
It had only been a month since her breakup with Colin, two weeks since she had the nerve to contact her husband again and tell him how epically her relationship failed after saving Colin from the Viper Queen, and 3 days since she uttered those words, “Let’s keep things casual for now.”
But Sathia was never good at casual, and this was her husband!
The blonde was everything Sathia wasn’t. She had bodacious curves in all the right places and clearly loved to show them off. And she was tall. Much taller than Sathia. Almost as tall as Tharion. What did she shift into? A giraffe? She looked like a party girl, who Sathia knew was exactly Tharion’s type, given his reputation.
Sathia crossed her arms and tried to focus on her conversation with Bryce. She could ignore them. If Tharion wanted to flirt with some bimbo, what did she care?
A high-pitched, feminine laugh pierced her ears, and Sathia narrowed her eyes in their direction again. The shifter pressed her breasts into Tharion’s arm, and Sathia saw red.
As she marched over, Tharion looked confused. Of course he was confused, that idiot. He probably didn’t even understand that when she said she wanted to keep things casual, what she meant was she wanted him to flirt with her like they were strangers. Not a husband and wife who never had a chance to date.
She bumped the shifter out of the way and threw her arms around Tharion’s neck. “You’ve been ignoring me, husband.”
The confusion in Tharion’s eyes didn’t last long as he placed both of his hands on her hips. Just as he began to smirk, Sathia pressed her lips to his, kissing him for the very first time.
Kiss prompts.

15 for Satharion please ❤️❤️❤️
15...passionately.
Note: Okay, I was inspired by elizianna.the.one 's fanart of Satharion. Also "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid, of course.
“I can’t believe I’m naked… outside!”
Tharion grinned at his wife. He hugged her closer to his chest, floating in a blue lagoon, as he leaned into her ear, “What do you mean? I’m basically naked all the time.”
Sathia rolled her eyes as she continued to giggle, “I’m aware. I can barely convince you to wear clothes in our apartment.”
“I think you secretly like it.” He tried his best not to stare over her shoulder, down at her breasts pressed together by her forearms covering her chest. Compared to him, Sathia was surprisingly modest. It took a lot of coaxing and downright goading to convince her to skinny dip with him.
He brought her here with one goal in mind… to kiss his wife. They had been dancing around it for weeks. He had never been so shy around a female before, but Sathia wasn’t like anyone he had ever been with. She was sharp, graceful, loyal, and if he were honest, a little scary. But mostly, she was breathtakingly beautiful. Her smile made his heart race faster than diving leagues under the sea.
He wasn’t sure that Sathia wanted to kiss him too. It was possible, but she had always been hard to read. He wasn’t used to having to work for it so much. Usually, he could flash a cheeky smile, run his hand up someone’s waist, and they would practically pull him down for a kiss first. But Sathia… Sathia was coyer. She was a refined, well-bred lady. She didn’t kiss first, and he knew she would never ask him for one.
So, he had to push his fear away and go for it. She turned her head to look back at him, a playful scowl pulling down her groomed brows. Now was his moment.
He slid his hand along her neck and gently shifted her to turn in his lap. She complied, and Tharion could swear he felt her heart rate quicken, sensing the vibrations in the water. He leaned forward, hesitating for a breath as his lips grazed hers. When he didn’t feel any resistance, he dove forward, kissing her as he had imagined thousands of times since they wed.
Sathia ran her fingers through his slick hair, gripping the back of his head as she was the first one to deepen the kiss, licking his teeth to signal she wanted him to open wider. He listened, dancing his tongue against hers as he fully flipped her around so that she straddled his hips. He kept them afloat with his tail, placing his hands firmly on her hips. Sathia tugged at the roots of his hair at the base of his neck, and he groaned into her mouth. Gods damn. If Tharion knew kissing his wife would be this good, he would have done it much sooner.
Kiss prompts.

there was a tiktok I made a while ago basically saying "your abusive ex boyfriend is more likely a misogynist than a narcissist" and while most people agreed some said I was victim blaming(?) and that I couldn't know what their ex is like, and while obviously I don't, every fucking person describing their narcissistic ex is describing a typical misogynist. ask yourself, is this behavior you associate with narcissism directed at women or does he treat his male friends the same way? is his general functioning in life impaired?
many people don't seem to know this, but a mental disorder is NOT based on symptoms alone, it's based on how much the symptoms actually impair you in daily life. most people could look at a list of mental disorder symptoms and identify either themselves or someone else with them. as far as a narcissistic personality, we all know people who appear more self absorbed than others, but this is typically subclinical narcissism (presence of narcissistic traits without significant impairment of functioning) which is not a disorder. there is also a misunderstanding of what npd is. a narcissist is not a supervillain invincible to emotion. npd is a defensive reaction to trauma that lead to deep insecurity and fear of being seen as weak or vulnerable. so narcissists aren't actually "in love with themselves" at all and often are diagnosed when seeking help for other issues such as substance abuse resulting from their struggles.
this focus a lot of abused women in online pop psychology have on narcissism is particularly concerning because it completely glosses over misogyny which is literally a huge factor in violence against women. people really only know misogyny as a surface level thing. they don't know it can lead to family annihilation, for example, and is one reason most family annihilations are committed by the husband. it's always "this man is a sociopath" "this man is a narcissist" when the man's behavior is driven by ideology. I am so fucking tired of everything being tied to mental illness and left at that. you know what this leads to? courts "fixing" abusive men by...giving them anger management therapy. guess what? it doesn't fucking do anything because the problem isn't mental instability leading to anger, it's targeted, purposeful abuse. we are getting nowhere

I don't believe the people who say the atla live action show is good.
the most they seem to say is "just turn your brain off and you'll enjoy it-" and "it's for kids! it's supposed to be braindead."
the reason atla has endured as long as it has, is because people are still finding intelligent discourse to have about its mature themes and its thoughtful story and expansive world building. it's a timeless classic because it found a balance between being light hearted and humorous, when appropriate, and completely serious when exploring its darker material. There are no fucking jokes about katara's mom dying or the genocide of the air nomads. but they are a cast of kids/pre teens and they definitely feel like kids. they grow and mature, and they joke around and have a good time, but the fucking show never felt the need to dumb itself down because it thought kids were too fucking stupid to appreciate character growth or a nuanced story.
it's actually embarrassing to be here and say well atla is supposed to be for kids, so having the emotional depth of paw patrol is fine-
I'm so sorry that kids these days can't handle a story about redemption and genocide and imperialism.
I'm so sorry that kids are being fed slop under the guise that they're too stupid to have anything else, because God knows those of us who grew up with avatar sure didn't appreciate how smart it was.
that's why WE STILL TALK ABOUT IT YEARS LATER ACKNOWLEDGING HOW MANY LITTLE THINGS WE BOTH OBSERVED AND MISSED IN THE SERIES WHEN WE ORIGINALLY WATCHED IT.
go ahead, write paw patrol the last airbender.
kids definitely don't need to know what genocide and imperialism are. they're definitely not very fucking relevant topics of the modern day!! god knows American kids in particular shouldn't know how genocides and propaganda and the total annihilation of oppressed cultures work!!

The fact that dramas not only have a whole category of "came to fuck them over, stayed to fuck them" romance but there are enough of them to have subcategories like:
The person I love is supposed to end the world, let's hope it goes out with a bang. Ours.
See Till the End of the Moon, Legend of Fuyao, Ever Night, Shine or Go Crazy, Kingdom of the Wind
They are a literal devil but everyone has their issues, don't they?
See Doom at Your Service, TTEOTM, The Legends, Love Between Fairy and Devil, Chong Zi, Journey of Flower, Scarlet Heart Ryeo, Legend of Zu, Ice Fantasy
Yeah, they killed (or hurt) my family but I can make a new one with them and that's a fair trade
See Empress Ki, Moon in the Day, The Wolf, Captivating the King, Goodbye My Princess, Siege in Fog, Royal Nirvana, The King's Woman, A Love to Kill, Whisper, Hotel King, Prosecutor Princess, Gaksital, Secret, Cruel City, Queen Love and War, Giant, Bloody Heart
I want vengeance on their family - by being an in law from hell!
See Beyond the Clouds, Queen of the Game, Love Song for Illusion, The Princess' Man, Innocent Man, Green Rose, Spring Waltz
He's the villain with corpse decor but it's good he's got hobbies, I guess
See My Villain Husband, Different Princess, Is Xianzun Whitewashed Today, The Romance of Tiger and Rose, upcoming Yong Ye Xing He and Offering Fish to Master, Legend of Condor Heroes (secondary OTP), Love for Immortality, Word of Honor
I came to rob them of their goods but robbing them of their heart is way better
See Robber, My Journey to You, That Winter the Wind Blows, Baker King, Call It Love
They killed ME before, but eh, let bygones be bygones
A lot of the ones above (Xianzun, Tiger/Rose, Different Princess) qualify but also Love and Redemption...(ETA Bulgasal as reminded by @crookedfandomquill)
A lot of them fit more than one category, too...
God, we are so blessed! :P

ACOSF was my favourite book of the ACOTAR series but I have a few points that WERE NOT cool.
- Cassian treated Nesta like absolute shit. Just off the top of my head:
--- when he said everyone hates her. As a 500+ year old male, how has he never experienced someone having this trauma response after a war? He is a general... Like wtf?
--- when he laughed at her when she fell down the stairs. She was severely hurt and he didn't even help her. What kind of mate is that?
--- how he never defends her against the IC. He didn't stand up for her during their intervention. He never defended her when Mor said she should be taken to the CON... What kind of mate is that?
--- how he chooses Mor over Nesta. What kind of mate is that?
--- having sex with her right after the Big of Oorid ordeal??? Likkkke dude. Her mouth was shredded. She nearly died... What the ffffffuuuuuuuck? What kind of mate is that?
- The judgement she gets for drinking and sleeping around when the IC constantly have alcohol and have said before that they have had many sexuak partners as well as how they dealt with the first war... Hypocritical beyond!
- Why does she have to be isolated and trapped in the House of Wind? Feyre hates Tamlin for trapping her in the manor but she does the exact same thing to her sister? What kind of bullshit is that? Hypocritical beyond!
- Amren saying Nesta is a waste of life and then NO ONE calling her out on that?? Likkkke that is some bullshit.
Many more reasons, but these are just at the top of my head for my rant.

Ember telling Nesta that she will find her way just breaks my fucking heart because the first half of the book is all Nesta in her element, doing as she pleases with her bestie Azriel, still doing what’s in the best interest of her family and just truly being her absolute best self and then the SECOND she’s back in the IC dynamic Ember is just watching her get berated for making a decision that we all know Feyre would also make. Like clearly Nesta expressed to Ember her turmoil over all of this and it makes me want to hug her and also slap Cassian.
It’s so tragic to see the dichotomy in one book of Nesta at her absolute best killing a fucking Asteri and then she goes HOME and … that …
I just … I have to dream that there’s something else for Nesta. A real home. Real acceptance.

God I am sick and tired of people uwu-washing indigenous American history.
Did the Inca have exquisite building techniques, efficient messengers, and quality waterworks? Yes. They were also an expansionist empire built on violent conquest and the splitting up and relocating of conquered peoples.
Did the Aztecs have a gorgeous capital city built at the heart of a lake, with floating farms and towering temples honoring their fascinating pantheon? Yes. Guess what tho. They were also a violent expansionist empire who practiced ritual sacrifice of prisoners of war.
The Iroquois confederacy had one of the most unique representative political systems I’ve ever heard of, with women taking a forefront in most local government matters too. But their internal peace allowed them to redirect violence to their neighbors, as so often happens with tribal confederations, and they eventually violently conquered the Ohio valley and destroyed or displaced dozens of other indigenous groups.
Even my beloved Cahokia has the graves of sacrifice victims amidst its ruins.
A society should not need to be (and fundamentally cannot be) squeaky clean unproblematically stannable in order to be worth studying and remembering, and pretending that they were is no less disinformative than the European accounts painting them as godless savages.

When South Africa dismantled apartheid, it did not end with the expulsion of all white South Africans. They became part of the new South Africa, just without the criminal discriminatory oligarchic powers the apartheid goverment had. When Bolivia recognized its indigenous heritage and became a plurinational state, it did not mean that people of European descent were expelled in masse. It meant the recognition of the previously discriminated indigenous and mestizo people of Bolivia and the beginning of a path of integration and revalidation.
What I mean is that it's ridiculous to think that decolonization inherently means mass suffering and relocation, that's what colonization does. Decolonization is recognizing the crimes of colonization, but more importantly, material, political and social steps to give power and self-determination to the exploited native people who were victims of colonialism and imperialism.
In multicultural societies, you don't go like in that Peter Griffin meme with a skin tone chart and saying 'well, you go back to Europe, you go back to Africa, you stay here'. You build a new society on the paradigm of dignity for exploited people and equality under the law. People are acting like this is some sort of fantastic utopia instead of real initiatives that were done in living memory, with successes and failures, as all such initiatives have. One must ask why are some so insistent that multicultural societies can't thrive, especially when for most of history, societies were indeed like that. Consider why you think like that.
