Propaganda (Starlite, Rainbow Brite): He's a goofily arrogant horse who runs along rainbows and helps protect his little friends, how can you not love him? Allegedly character designer Rich Rudish (whose swoopy style undoubtedly influenced no end of young horse artists) based the character on his son's horse: “I modeled Starlite after my son's horse, an Arabian gelding named By Jingo, and many of By Jingo's qualities are now a part of Starlite's character.”

I got curious how many MC actual have jobs.

I wasnt sure how to do the options but I hope they arn't too confusing.

#juni does kinda odd jobs bc hugh and the rest of her south hoof adopted family dont charge her for room and food etc #since her character is about this idealised healthy state where her family is financially comfortable and never abusive or neglective etc #she can always get food and keep her room at south hoof regardless of anything so she doesnt worry about getting a job but she likes helpin #shes very responsible and helpful and resourceful and shes good at solving problems. so first its working at the rescue ranch - #ever since she was a kid. hugh was responsible ofc and allowed her bit by bit to take on more types of jobs there as she grew up. #then she starts going around jorvik more as a teen and finds more ppl to help and she also becomes a part time jorvik ranger #i imagine more like she volunteers for it when they need extra people? idk i havent decided clearly #but she also just does lots of these odd jobs like what mc actually does in the game bc she just enjoys helping ppl and meeting ppl #and since she often gets offered free food and to stay the night by ppl she helps etc she doesnt have a lot of costs to worry about

i want to ship my oc and my gfs oc but they just dont work together well and its sad.... all i can get is this unrequited crush from juni to yasmine but thats it

it doesnt help im in the 1% of ssoblr whos not personally attracted to yasmine the oc (hes a good chara but not my type) so its like, well i can make juni or her brother or both attracted to him thats fine but i dont have any actual motivation about it beyond "i want to make our charas feel things together" so if the ship doesnt work both ways it just becomes boring for the most part (sometimes i like the whole unrequited love thing, but not when im feeling sad about not having any ships to care about)

and if i wanted to just ship stuff in general theres just not any interesting enough charas in sso anyway that are my type and would be interesting with my ocs.... ydris is cute (warning! im pansexual but mostly attracted to women atm and dont need judgment just bc i like some random made up characters thanks :3) but he doesnt fit with my ocs. alonso is also cute but again not for my ocs. i vaguely liked rowan when they were introduced but their whole "im here to say random australian things" writing is so bad that its hard to care about them, i wish they had some kind of interesting character shit going on in an ongoing storyline. honestly all the wildwoods rangers were cute and i wanted more characterisation and story and development from them. syntax is vaguely cute too. i wish they added some nb characters that werent the skinny androgynous-but-not-too-femme thing.

and i cant make a more direct self insert to ship with charas that are my type either bc i would feel too much like its cheating kfdhjgdkf i only feel ok with that when its very direct projection between the charas and my irl relationship......

so yeah shipping vent from person who used to have fun shipping stuff but now suffers from both apathy and lack of characters and ships of interest :(

edit: maybe the solution is forcing yasmin to also make a more direct self insert to sso and then i can ship our jorvergian self inserts

interesting that the SF is bad too? (@algirdasgiedraitis mentions same in replies) so its not on purpose that theyre doing something new with draft horses. (which even then would be a bad idea if it wasnt consistent across all the draft breeds.)

i kept trying with meatball bc im like, well this is my current favourite horse, i dont want to feed 2 horses. i dont mind that much going back to one of my other favs like, i love my appaloosa and he was fine at champs, but it just means i wont be feeding or riding meatball then which sucks bc i want to :/

is the ardennes just a bad champ horse or did i get worse at running champs. i was never amazing at it to begin with but i did use to regularly get 1-5th place u know? but i have so many problems running w meatball (ardennes) we just keep not being able to make jumps and stuff

yeah it would be fine if it was a draft horse thing on purpose, but ppl were using the percheron as a champ horse a ton....
