《 My Ep.18 Highlights 》

So ... Ep.18, right? You'd think after all these episodes we'd get a more emotional reunion. But Sunrise said NOPE.

Anyway. Something good has to come out of this episode. Let's focus on that.

Disclaimer:

I'm aware that the following hints might come off as "far-reached", but this is my way of fighting for SessKagu. Periodt.

My Highlights :

1. The strong breeze Moroha, Riku, and Takechiyo witness is not Setsuna's. If it was her wind she would've concealed it because is a part of her demon energy. However, this particular breeze keeps wandering around freely. It seems to have "a will of it's own" (I'm the free wind).

I believe this is the same breeze we see in Ep.17 that entered the field to help Setsuna and Towa find Konton's location. As we know, Kagura IS the wind. She's on her daughters side, fighting with them.

(Moroha mentions how "windy" it is, as if to bring the viewer's attention to this strong breeze and how it's quickly heading out of the area. Notice how it rushes past her and is suddenly completely gone)

Thanks to the following scene I'm certain now that Riku doesn't consider the wind's presence "good news".

He seems concerned when he looks at Konton's spells slightly waving, then the same strong breeze rushes by them, taking the spells with it. To me, this is symbolism. The wind is letting Riku know about Konton's defeat and it mocks him by blowing the spells away.

(Notice how the breeze keeps heading in the same direction)

Takechiyo immediately understood the wind's message. He points it out. I'm not sure if this means he wanted the girls to lose, but since he is associated with Riku we could assume that's what he wanted. However, I don't consider Takechiyo evil. Sadly, he's being manipulated.

2. Where was this strong breeze heading?

I believe this breeze went searching for Sesshomaru. Yes. Why?

Because the lives of their daughters were in serious danger. Setsuna and Towa planned to fight Kirinmaru, but obviously weren't ready. Not yet. He would kill them. That's why the wind rushed to look for Sesshomaru and guide him to them. To the beach.

Otherwise, why did Sesshomaru intervene this time? Because the wind informed him of the dangerous encounter between his daughters and Kirinmaru.

And how did he arrive just in time? Because he was quickly brought there by it.

(Notice the wind surrounding Sesshomaru's presence)

3. When Kirinmaru asked if he came out of concern for his daughters, Sesshomaru didn't deny it. He even told Jaken to be quiet because HE INDEED was there for personal reasons. Why wouldn't he? It's about his daughters after all! Of course it's personal! And Sesshomaru had to get involved to protect/defend them.

Another thing. Before he fights with Kirinmaru, Sesshomaru tells Towa and Setsuna to stay back. He wasn't speaking to Jaken directly. He looked at his daughters. A telltale of his care for them.

4. Towa looks at the night sky full of stars and wonders about her father with a hint of concern. To me, she is resembling her mother that time she thought about their father while looking at the stars, too.

SessKagu Parallel Post #3 in Ep.17

(I actually had a meltdown when I spotted this)

From the wind blowing in Towa's face while looking at Setsuna to Setsuna saying the EXACT SAME WORDS Sesshomaru told Kagura. The wind blows as well in Sesshomaru's face before he tells Kagura these words.

I edited this video (No subtitles) with both scenes put together for comparison. Please, listen carefully to Setsuna and Sesshomaru's words.

《 The significance behind the Yellow and White Petals in Ending #2 》

Flowers play a big role in the symbolism of Yashahime. Especially flower petals. We can see many red petals floating with the wind in the beginning of Opening #2 for example.

While watching the Ending song #2, I often wondered why Towa is represented with White flowers and Setsuna with Yellow flowers.

One reason can be the color of their pearls. Towa's pearl is Silver and Setsuna's is Golden. And perhaps that is the reason, at first.

Yet, one question still remains. Why choose flowers to represent the girls? They could've chosen any other kind of object.

Another question comes up. Why choose flower petals of said colors to represent Towa and Setsuna later on the song?

That's when I started looking for a new possible meaning.

While re-watching the episode "Kagura's Wind" for the 110th time, I noticed that the flowers in the field aren't only white anemones.

There's yellow anemones among the white anemones.

Here's a view of the field. We can see a mix of yellow and white flowers.

I decided to have a closer look at the flowers shown in the following scenes. I proceeded to circle every yellow anemone I found.

That's when it dawned on me.

The petals we see floating in the water ARE NOT FROM THE FLOWERS we see next to Towa and Setsuna in the very beginning of the Ending song.

These petals are from the White and Yellow anemones found in Kagura's field.

This is proven when the petals start floating upwards!

Is the representation of the moment Kagura became the wind. It emphasizes the presence of the Wind in a scenario where we have Yellow and White Anemone Petals and Water.

The connection between the wind, flowers, and the water is very clear at this point.

Kagura's come back could happen because of her fan which was thrown in the lake by Kana. Is highly possible Kana threw her fan in the lake in purpose. Maybe Kana knew Kagura could come back physically through it one day. When she was ready. Just like in the Inuyasha movie, when Princess Kaguya comes back to life because Kana and Kagura threw her requested objects in the water.

Interesting imagery I noticed when I paused on a lot of fast pics from the opening. These three images occur in the same five seconds alongside a Moroha and Towa one. I’m curious why RED is only highlighted and why only Sesshomaru and the butterfly are shown besides the 3 main girls? Could it be that the butterfly represents someone we all know? Perhaps another demon known for her striking red features. HMMM?

Rumiko Takahashi’s interview about R/n (and Jaken)

This interview really makes me think that R/n was never meant to be S€ssh0maru’s love interest but just the character who had to change his coldness. Rumiko said that she was undecided if R/n had to be a boy or a girl, she was undecided about her age and she said that she likes the gap of height between S€ssh0maru, R/n and Jaken who are both so small LOL

Wow… after all they turned Sesshoumaru-sama into a pedophile in an anime original fanfiction that it’s almost not involved with the content of the author…. the worst….. gross… I say that the things the authour didn’t draw in the manga are things she didn’t take into consideration, so I really didn’t want you to mess with it.

With the exception of what the author wrote, this is a fanfiction! It’s parallel! Even though there are many characters that I like, making him a pedophile is the worst of the worst and I think that Sesshoumaru-sama and Rin share familial love…

Absolutely going mad over the concept of Grandpa Naraku. He would come back and he would be absolutely insufferable. He’d take one look at the twins (mostly Setsuna) and immediately just go “Kagura came back, did she? I would say such a thing is unbelievable, but that would be a lie.” He’d go on an instant and unstoppable exposition of all of his exploits, while Towa and Setsuna just stare at him, confused and whispering back and forth to each other. “So, is this Kagura our mother?” “I wasn’t aware we had a mother.” “Everyone has a mom, Setsuna.” “Hm.”

Naraku would eventually hit a conclusion in his dramatic retelling that finally leads him to: “So, then, if Kagura is your mother, who is your father?”

The twins: “Oh, he’s a dog demon. Goes by the name Sesshomaru.”
