JURASSIC PARK x PACIFIC RIM
(This year marks the 30th anniversary of Jurassic Park and the 10th of Pacific Rim, so I thought I'd smash the two together in a celebratory AU! Hope you enjoy ^^)
2003: 'Jurassic Park' on Isla Nublar had been going for nearly ten years; it was a worldwide phenomenon. They brought dinosaurs back to life and nothing went wrong. Even a decade later it was still pulling in the numbers and raking in the money. But then it all changed...
Tumblr media
The first Kaiju emerged from a rift beneath the Pacific Ocean. It first broke the surface near Nublar, passing by. Nobody knew what it was. And it continued to the mainland, destroying the first city it found. It took several days and combined military forces to take it down. In the end a nuclear warhead ended its reign of destruction...But only a few months later a second Kaiju emerged...And then another...And then it sank in that this wasn't going to stop. Nukes were messy; we needed a new weapon...
The world pooled together its resources and formed the Pan Pacific Defense Corps and the Jaeger programme was born; giant mechs controlled by pilots connected by a shared neural system. InGen, the company behind Jurassic Park, were a heavy investor; they brought back the dinosaurs and didn't want Kaiju to wreak havoc on the island. They collaborated with the PPDC and friendly rival BioSyn to set up a base where several Jaegers of their own would be stationed. This Shatterdome would be codenamed 'Death Six'.
Tumblr media
The Jaegers stationed at Death Six were all inspired by the most popular dinosaurs InGen brought back to life. Nature had inspired some of the deadliest Jaegers that the Kaiju had ever faced...
Tumblr media
REGINA THUNDER - Mk. II - One of the largest Mark II Jaegers constructed, Regina Thunder was modelled by the legendary Tyrannosaurus...specifically after the resident Tyrannosaur living in Jurassic Park that fans have dubbed ' The Queen of Nublar'. Thunder is built with strength and power in mind, culminating in a pair of 'rex heads' at the ends of the primary arms. Both heads can deliver a crushing force that can shatter armour plating on a Kaiju and tear them apart. Many fights usually lead to Kaiju heads sinking to the ocean floor. As a bonus, two smaller arms (referencing the Tyrannosaurs actual arms) tucked into the body can deploy and latch onto the Kaiju, keeping them close for melee combat, dealing extra damage or carrying the remains of a successful battle.
Tumblr media
IMPALER COLORADO - Mk. III - A hefty Mark III Jaeger, Impaler Colorado was the only one of the four InGen Jaegers to be based on a herbivore. But make no mistake, Impaler is a brutal war machine. Like its inspiration, the Triceratops, the Jaeger is built to attack head on. Using a charging technique, Impaler would throw punches, but the Kaiju would never know which punch would deploy one of the horn-based arm-blades. The razor-edged blades would easily skewer the Kaiju, causing serious damage. And if the Kaiju attacked first, Impaler's head would be protected by its frill, lined with diamond-tipped horns...And in the middle of the chest, the Triceratops' nose horn is replicated. Possibly the strongest horn in Impaler's arsenal, the Jaeger pilots would sometimes ensure Kaiju death by ripping it in half on its chest horn. The pilots also refuse to allow the horns to be cleaned, so they stay stained with Kaiju blood.
Tumblr media
RAPTOR VELOCITY - Mk. IV - One of the fastest Jaegers in service, Velocity features a slimmer frame than older models with an advanced pelvic suspension system. Like its inspiration, the Velociraptor, Velocity features sickle claws on its feet, but also larger retractable hooked claws on its arms. Its size, speed and weapons mean that it can sneak up on a Kaiju and latch on, tearing into the body. While older Jaegers are some the Kaiju need to avoid, Raptor Velocity is the one that the Kaiju need to watch out for.
Tumblr media
RANGER VENOM - Mk. V - The newest Jaeger to join the fleet, Ranger is inspired by Jurassic Park's most hotly-debated dinosaur, the Dilophosaurus. Despite InGen accidentally cloning the dinosaur with unusual genetics, this Jaeger made use of the JP dinosaur's less-accurate attributes. The chest is modelled after the frill and can open up to reveal a projectile launcher, loaded with concussive missiles that not only do explosive damage, but spread an adhesive liquid that scientists at Death Six concocted; this liquid is especially corrosive to Kaiju flesh. And if Ranger ever runs out of ammunition, speed and agility is on its side, along with deployable chainsaw-based weapons on each arm. Naturally.
Tumblr media
(Bonus; I drew all four Jaegers across two sheets of paper so that they would all look like they're stood together in a line. ^^)
Happy 30th Jurassic Park and happy 10th Pacific Rim. \^^/

JURASSIC TRANSFORMERS (Jurassic Park) Name: ‘WHIRLWIND’ Affiliation: Autobot Alt. Mode: Agusta A-109A - InGen Helicopter N293G During the run-up to Jurassic Park’s planned opening, InGen were tight on resources and were unable to procure the vehicles needed to give the assessment team a full tour. The Autobots offered two keen volunteers to assist with operations...One of whom was an aerial-bot called ‘Whirlwind’. Whirlwind generally had an easy-going, laid back attitude, often going with the flow where ever the winds of change took him. So much so, that he nearly let the opportunity to work with an island full of dinosaurs slip by him...Only on a second look did he see that InGen needed a helicopter to take teams to and from the island. Having casually browsed through humankind’s history of aviation, he was fascinated by how helicopters operated and was keen to try it out himself...’why not’, he thought to himself. Whilst Expo arrived at Isla Nublar a day before the assessment team were due, Whirlwind was needed sooner; he took several days to transport key members of staff to and from the island, Costa Rica and the classified island known only to him as ‘Site B’, the latter of which he was asked to keep quiet about...But that didn’t phase him; he went with the flow and was happy with only what he needed to hear. Amongst his VIP passengers were Dr. Henry Wu, Dennis Nedry, Ray Arnold and the Lockwoods, a father and daughter duo who knew Hammond well, but were not heard from again after their one visit...Another temporary case of curiosity for Whirlwind but as with Site B; if he needed to know, they’d inform him. But it was a trip to the United States that gave him his most important role yet; transporting the assessment team, along with John Hammond himself. During the journey to the island, Whirlwind was amused with the conversations aboard, especially between Hammond and the eclectic Dr. Malcolm. But as Isla Nublar came into view, Whirlwind was guided by the pre-planned route that Hammond designed, rather than the quickest and most efficient, so the visitors could have the best views possible for most dramatic effects...Hammond was ever the showman before they even landed. After dropping the team off at the helipad, Whirlwind immediately set off to pick up his next couple of passengers from the airport in Costa Rica; Hammond’s grandchildren, Lex and Tim Murphy. Their journey to the island wasn’t overseen by Hammond, so this time he took the less extravagant, more direct route...A decision he was glad he made; the kids were too excitable for him and the snacks they had for the trip made a bit of a mess in his interior...! Whirlwind remained on the Isla Nublar helipad. After the support crew helped to clean out the interior, the Autobot didn’t have much planned until it would be time for the assessment team to leave. He was able to kick back and share stories with his human colleagues, who in turn let him know how Wrangle, who had been on the islands for several years at this point, was a valued member of the team. They also encouraged Whirlwind to scan through radio stations so he could check out some (human) music...He was especially taken with psychedelic and prog rock... The chill would come to an abrupt end when they learned that Hurricane Clarissa was fast approaching the island...Air travel was going to be far too risky and the majority of staff were going to be evacuated by boat. The order came through for everyone to get to the dock as soon as they could...Whirlwind encouraged his crew to go on ahead, as he would be able to take the beating and catch up with them later. That very night, the worst of the hurricane had passed, but the rains were still strong; Whirlwind was selecting appropriate music to play, such as ‘Riders on the Storm’, when he saw that the lights surrounding the helipad had gone. He transformed and scanned the area; no power...Not even from the nearby perimeter gate. Something was wrong. He tried to reach someone through his radio; dead...He wanted to stay in case anybody would need to reach the helipad, but he also wanted to take off to find out what was wrong, despite the poor weather... ‘This is why I prefer to go with the flow’ he thought, flustered by his dilemma. Whirlwind ended up making a decision; he took off. The heavy rain was starting to ease, but it wasn’t ideal flying conditions...All across the island, his scanner picked up lifeforms in various places, hardly any of them human. ‘This is bad’ he thought, comparing his scans with the layout of the facilities... ‘all the dinos are going where they ain’t supposed to be’. He also checked on the Energon signatures of his Autobot comrades, Wrangle and Expo...Until one started to flicker...It was Expo at the Tyrannosaur paddock. Whirlwind picked up speed and fought the storm to try and get there as fast as he could, but lightning struck him; he span out of control towards the ground below... The following morning, Whirlwind had washed up the bank of the lake in the Brachiosaur enclosure...He was jolted awake by a Parasaurolophus blaring its morning call, like a rooster with a trumpet. Whirlwind crawled up onto the grass and inadvertently scared the Parasaur herd away. He checked his scanner; only one Energon signature...He transformed and took off towards where he last saw Expo... Whirlwind hovered above the remains of the Tyrannosaur paddock; the fence was destroyed, a restroom was obliterated and the only vehicle visible, Tour Vehicle 05, had been abandoned. He scanned over the fence and detected traces of Energon...He swooped down the drop and on the ground, Expo’s body lay in a mess, savaged by the Tyrannosaur. He saw human footprints leading away from the car...In his sorrow for his comrade, he was glad to know that Expo protected humans until the very end. Whirlwind payed his respects; ‘Til all are one’ he mournfully recited, before he took off to seek out the other Energon signal. At the garage near the Visitors’ Centre, Whirlwind arrived to find Jeep 12; Wrangle. He was happy to see Wrangle alive, but had to tell him that Expo had gone...This didn’t help Wrangle’s mood, who was still upset at being somewhat responsible for a human death...Whirlwind tried to convince him to help out the other people that are still in danger. After a moment, Wrangle agreed to track down the Velociraptors, as it was the smaller carnivores he knew could be the most dangerous for humans. Whirlwind tracked the T. Rex and found her finishing off a Gallimimus. Three human signals were being picked up but he couldn’t tell exactly where they were as they were already deep in the nearby jungle...As such he made sure that the Rex didn’t follow them by being a distraction, as a vulture is to a lion. But eventually Whirlwind heard a power surge over the radio; electricity had been restored to the park. He tried contacting people again; on channel two he picked up a woman’s voice; it was Dr. Ellie Sattler...She sounded distraught and out of breath. Whirlwind wasn’t sure if she knew about the Cybertronians, so he just said that it was ‘the chopper team’...Ellie told them to have the chopper ready to go. And then her radio signal dropped...Whirlwind told Wrangle to get to her position ASAP. Thankfully Wrangle was nearby; he found Ellie’s radio, which looked like it had been ditched...And then he found Robert Muldoon’s savaged corpse. Wrangle took a moment to rip off his soft Jeep-roof (therefore his ‘cape’) to cover his fallen human comrade. And then, finding Velociraptor tracks, radio’d Whirlwind to tell him that the Velociraptors are tracking the humans to the Visitors’ Centre. Whirlwind still had eyes on the Tyrannosaur and then had an idea...He told Wrangle that they need to lure the Rex to the Centre...Wrangle fired a flare into the air. Success; the Rex saw the bright red light in the distance and started heading towards it with an almighty roar. Whirlwind told Wrangle that it’s working and to make sure she’s heading in the right direction. He also told Wrangle that according to the radio chatter, there are two survivors (Hammond and Malcolm) in an underground bunker that need a pick-up and one of them’s incapacitated with an injury. Meanwhile, Whirlwind himself would take off and fly as fast as he could to the helipad. He found that his ground crew decided to remain on the island after all, which was handy, as the survivors would need all the human help they could get. Sure enough, he saw Wrangle speeding towards the helipad with all the surviving humans available; the ground crew helped Malcolm board the helicopter with his broken leg. Hammond took one last look at his dream before Wrangle transformed to tell them he’ll look after what’s left of the place. Whirlwind took flight with the six survivors on board...The humans had been through a lot and, despite some of them being absolutely filthy from their time in the jungle, Whirlwind didn’t mind...Especially since the kids were fast asleep.

JURASSIC TRANSFORMERS (Jurassic Park) Name: ‘EXPO’ Affiliation: Autobot Alt. Mode: 1992 Ford Explorer - Tour Vehicle 04 During the earlier months of 1993, Hammond’s dream of a theme park to exhibit the miracles of genetic science was on the verge of completion on Isla Nublar. And the Autobots already had a member of their team on the island for several years to assist with rearing the creatures...However, the board of Hammond’s company InGen were increasingly restricting funding towards the project due to the vast amounts they had already directed into the theme park without returns...Then they halted finance indefinitely when an incident with a Velociraptor claimed the life of a member of staff and necessitated an assessment team to endorse the park. In order to help with quickly securing vehicles to both travel to the island and provide tours for the assessment team, the Autobots offered to assist, with a couple of volunteers eager to help...one of which was a plucky, young information specialist they called ‘Expo’. Expo arrived on Isla Nublar the day before the assessment team would arrive...He barely had time to catch up with Wrangle before he was ushered toward the tour vehicle garage. InGen had acquired at least four Ford Explorers for the main tour, but with time, budget constraints and a growing number of issues in the park’s systems, they were only able to fully convert one of the cars to run electric and automated. They needed at least two cars for the assessment team...Expo scanned away and became another functioning tour vehicle. As Expo recreated the ‘interactive CD-rom’, he had full access to the database that InGen had created for Jurassic Park and was keen to learn as much as he could for the first tour...However as a Cybertronian reading human technology from the 1990s, he was able to digest everything in a matter of seconds... The next day Expo arrived in front of the Visitor’s Centre to provide for the tour and was excited to lead the way with the actual tour vehicle following behind...The passengers he had amassed were Donald Gennaro, the lawyer who represented the legal team that Hammond had to fight against, and Hammond’s own grandchildren, Lex and Tim Murphy. The first enclosure they tour rode past was for the Dilophosaurus. Expo briefed his passengers on the creature before reminding them to keep their windows closed...They slowly rode past the paddock and despite nobody being able to catch site of anything, Expo’s passenger window was struck by a projectile of black mucus-like venom, making the kids jump. They were glad they wound up their windows. Later in the day, Hurricane Clarissa had arrived to the island, just after the tour had passed a sick Triceratops. The core staff had decided to cut to tour short and have the vehicles return to the centre. However on the way back, the park had lost power, stranding them outside the Tyrannosaur paddock. Expo could still move, but the gates that enclosed either side of the paddock entrance couldn’t open. Night had fallen and heavy rain filled the air before everyone felt rumbles through the ground...Expo told his passengers that the best thing they can do was stay in his car for safety. The Tyrannosaur reared her head into view on the other side of the fence...Gennaro panicked; he fled the car, despite Expo calling him back...And the kids realised they were on their own. Expo tried to reassure them they will be okay as long as they’re in the car and to stay as still as they can. But they too started panicking when the cables on the fencing started snapping...The Tyrannosaur had broken free. The kids were scuttling around in the car, trying to find things to help them, despite Expo’s ever louder protests. And that noise had attracted the carnivore to them... Expo saw that the Tyrannosaur had noticed the kids in the car and was about to lunge through the glass roof when Expo shot back several dozen feet; the Rex missed, but was now intent on stopping him. He was almost touching the car behind and when the Rex started to approach them again, he told the kids he was going to try and bolt forward to smash through the gates to escape...But as he tried, the Rex was too fast for his judgement; she clipped the back of the car, spinning Expo astray and then she rammed the side, smashing him against the concrete. But the dinosaur wasn’t done...With an effort, she flipped the car onto it’s roof and stomped her foot onto the chassis to pin Expo down... Inside the car, the kids were terrified and screaming for their lives...But then a blue liquid poured out of the CD-rom console...The energy from Expo started to flicker; in pinning him down, the Tyrannosaur’s big toe claw went straight through his Spark. It was a valiant effort to save the kids, but Expo was dying. His final words included an apology to the children and a reminder for them to be brave...He was able to catch sight of Dr. Grant beginning to distract the Rex with a flare...This gave him hope as he shut down.

JURASSIC TRANSFORMERS (Jurassic Park) Name: ‘WRANGLE’ Affiliation: Autobot Alt. Mode: 1993 Jeep Wrangler - JP12 Back in mid-’80′s, InGen had made major breakthroughs in genetic engineering. The Autobots were concerned that human sciences were in danger of being misused and they sent Wrangle in to investigate their operations on Isla Nublar. Wrangle is well-meaning and excitable, but also prideful and impulsive. As soon as he happened upon what he thought were nefarious deeds by InGen’s scientists, he revealed himself, ordering them to cease operations by order of the Autobots...before he saw the first living dinosaur that they had successfully cloned. When Wrangle reported back to the Autobots, they were somewhat surprised to discover that the company had been able to resurrect creatures that had been extinct for millions of years (a long time for life on Earth, but just another day for Cybertronians) and decided that their intentions were benign, but ordered that Wrangle remain on the island, just in case. Since learning about their intentions to open a theme park to exhibit these prehistoric creatures, Wrangle was keen to help out with the ranger teams, helping to look after the dinosaurs. He was involved with many of the daily tasks for the wide variety of creatures; growth rate of Brachiosaurs, herding Parasaurs and Gallimimus, having the Tyrannosaur learn where she needed to be for her food...Due to these tasks and more, Wrangle developed a tool-kit in his arm that was able to shoot tranquillizer darts, medication darts and flares. Always loving the idea being something of a hero, Wrangle was in his element when the shiny-new Jeep Wranglers arrived on the island months before the park was due to open; he instantly took the form of the variant with the soft-top...purely so he could have a ‘cape’ when he transformed... During the 1993 incident, Wrangle mostly kept out of the way when the assessment team arrived. Hurricane Clarissa followed soon after, during which he took several staff-members to the docks for evacuation. Returning to the garage by the Visitors’ Centre, Wrangle waited for the core staff and the assessment team. During the heavy rain, one staff-member rushed out of the building and told Wrangle to go as quickly as he could; this was Dennis Nedry. Driving through the winding paths, Nedry told Wrangle he wasn’t meeting the boat with the others and told him to head toward the East Dock. Wrangle complied, but not without a sense of confusion...He started to become even more concerned as they reached the park gates that Nedry was able to manually open...He questioned what happened to the power, amongst other things...Nedry brushed off the concerns and told him to keep going. Wrangle knew something wasn’t right...He used the cover of the storm to lose the road and their sense of direction and then feigned becoming stuck in a pit. Wrangle told Nedry he wasn’t going to ‘try to free himself’ until he told the truth. After a moment, Nedry revealed his working for a rival genetics company to smuggle embryos off the island and was being paid handsomely to do so, because he felt that Hammond had underpaid and mistreated him. Wrangle intended to go back and tell the others about Nedry, but Nedry retorted by saying if he did, he would tell the other company about his kind and that they would hunt down the transformers without mercy. Reluctantly Wrangle agreed to take Nedry to the dock, but by the time he did, he had really become stuck in a pool of swampy mud. Wrangle threw his car’s tow cable to Nedry so that he could tie it around a tree to help haul him out, but while doing so, he was distracted by a lone Dilophosaurus...Wrangle tried to warn Nedry not to agitate the young carnivore, but Nedry had already attracted enough of the dinosaur’s attention. Wrangle’s darts and flares were sodden with water and became inoperable...Something he realised too late, as he could only watch the Dilophosaur attack Nedry by blinding him with venomous spittle and then tearing into him. Wrangle tried harder to free himself, but by the time he was able to start heaving himself out, Nedry was long gone. Wrangle stumbled out of his entrapment and after the Dilophosaur unsuccessfully tried to blind him with venom as well, he managed to scare the dinosaur away. Wrangle found a can of shaving cream that fell out of Nedry’s coat...Scanning it, he could see the embryos inside; in a snap-decision he crushed the can in his hand, destroying the contents within. After the rain subsided, Wrangle dug a whole in the grounds and laid the messy remains of Nedry’s body within...He then tossed the crushed can into the whole as well, before covering it back up again. He returned to the garage and stayed put in his Jeep, lamenting his direct responsibility in the death of a member of the human race, whom the Autobots had sworn to protect.

Jurassic Park III - Amalgam Testing
RECORDING TRANSCRIPT SUBJECT: AMALGAM TESTING - DAY 01 ISLA SORNA OCTOBER, 1997 DR. KAJAL DUA: Okay, so we successfully finished sequencing the Corythosaur...and the Ankylosaurs and Ceratosaur are in the can, so to speak. I would ask if we can finish and get out of here before we break the Gene Guard Act anymore, but...those new papers say different, don't they... DR. HENRY WU: Here's what we're going to do next...I'm going to call this 'Amalgam Testing'. No matter what happens, I want this 'testing' to be recorded as a 'failure'. DUA: Why, what...Wait, 'Spinosaurus'? There isn't even enough bones in the world, let alone... WU: I know; we have next to nothing...Only enough material to sequence a third of what we need. But if we introduce other specimens... DUA: Hence 'Amalgam'. This is going to turn it into a hybrid. WU: Yes. Technically all of our clones are 'hybrids' with frogs, but our Dilophosaurus proved that more - experimental - hybridisation was possible. DUA: So what, do the same with the Spino? WU: Not exactly...We know next to nothing, but what we do know is that it's related to two other animals we do have material for; Baryonyx and Suchomimus. DUA: Three dinosaurs in one! WU: Exactly. It will be a challenge, but Masrani intends to honour Hammond's wish of a fully functioning theme park and we need to be prepared for every kind of project he may throw at us. DUA: 'Challenge' is an understatement; with the combined DNA, we'll have no guarantee of size, of metabolism...we can't even be sure that we can keep the female chromosome! WU: That won't matter; we're only going to breed one specimen. DUA: Yeah...One... DAY 45 NOVEMBER, 1997 DR. HENRY WU: What happened? DR. KAJAL DUA: It bit him; it's only a few days old, but it nearly took his hand off. WU: Fascinating. DUA: He lost a lot of blood, but he'll live. But that goes to show what happens with accelerating the growth hormones! WU: But showing signs of developing strength already; that's new. DUA: Merging three dinosaurs together might do that...! Looks like the 'amalgam testing' worked...For now. WU: It will need to be under constant supervision. DUA: And you're asking me to do so...? WU: I'm asking everyone to do so. DUA: That's fine...Until it starts being able to run around and pick us off, one-by-one! WU: You make it sound like a monster. DUA: Hm...I suppose I'm just worried if we can control it or not. WU: We will control it...We'll need everyone we can to run every test possible. DUA: Well, you'll be glad to know I already ran one basic test; congratulations, Doctor...It's a boy! DAY 67 DECEMBER, 1997 DR. KAJAL DUA: For the record, I did think the cattle prod was a bit much. DR. HENRY WU: It was necessary. Has it been feeding? DUA: Yes...Feeding well, drinking well...He definitely likes fish. But even with the amount of food we give him, he still snaps at us. WU: Sounds like a behavioural issue; in time we may need more than just a few volts. DUA: So that's how we're proceeding then; he gets stronger, we fight harder...? WU: It needs to learn who's in control. DUA: I agree. But as he gets older, he's going to learn that he can take control very easily...quickly. Dangerously. Two of our team are already in intensive care; what happens when we actually lose someone? What happens when it's just you...? WU: I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. For now let's just stick to the testing. DUA: Let's give him a chance to recover, first. WU: We don't have the time...Unless you don't want to...? DUA: Well, I will but...I don't like the way he looks at everyone... WU: It's had a taste of human blood; you might look like a meal. DUA: I wish it was. It's like...there's hatred in those little green eyes. In between every test, there's pure anger glaring at us. DAY 88 January, 1998 DR. HENRY WU: The data we're getting is incredible; testosterone levels, resilience, muscle and bone density... DR. KAJAL DUA: Yes, unfortunately we're running out of restraints. WU: The sail is a wonder in itself... DUA: You know we're putting hum through unbearable pain by your demands...? WU: I bred this hybrid for survival. I need to know its breaking point. DUA: Well, lucky for him the anaesthetic wears off faster than it used to... WU: Don't you want to know as much as possible? DUA: Of course, his behaviour is of my professional interest, which is why it's frustrating that we can't observe him close-up without him wanting to kill us! WU: And yet you still seem to care about it...? DUA: You're not here all the time, Dr. Wu; I've been through observing his early days of cowering in the corner of his cell to listening night after night to his deafening howls...calls that can't be answered because he's all alone, no doubt. WU: I haven't heard anything like that. DUA: That's because a week ago he became quiet. I've been watching the night footage and he's not sleeping as much as he used to...He rests, but he's always on guard. And look at this from last night...He's barely three months old and he's worn himself out buckling the bars of his cell and smashing the concrete wall. WU: It could break out. We need a deterrent. DUA: With what? Since he learned he can maim us, he's had no fear. WU: All creatures are afraid of fire, Dr. Dua... DAY 102 February, 1998 DR. KAJAL DUA: The force of his bite is going to match a Tyrannosaurus. DR. HENRY WU: That will be the Crocodilian DNA I included; a little something for the fusion to hold together. DUA: Well, your cocktail may hold together a bit too well; I don't believe it's exaggerating to say that when he gets to adulthood, he could cause an extinction-level event on the island. WU: That's the potential I was hoping for. DUA: As long as he keeps to himself, other predators don't intervene and no more humans appear - which I know is unlikely since San Diego - he should fit in with the ecosystems. WU: I hope it doesn't stray too far to the forests in the South-West... DUA: Careful, Victor, that almost sounds like you care about him...! WU: I don't want it encountering the Tyrannosaur couple. We may need it for further research when Masrani's plans develop. We're well behind the perimeter fence at least. As long as that holds up, most of the other assets should be safe. DUA: I see. Well let's say the fence fails, the aviary will be the next at risk...Those are the accidental Pteranodons we don't want flying free, if I remember right. And then that's on the river; what if he gets off the island? WU: Let's not get too speculative, Dr. Dua. There's no if when...Wait, what's that...? DUA: Shit...That's them, isn't it; they're coming! WU: Hm...It was only a matter of time. We've got the necessary data; We need to get going. DUA: What about the Spino? WU: What about it? DUA: We're just going to...leave him? WU: We'll have to. DUA: Okay...I'm releasing him now. WU: What?! DUA: Yes, he'll break out eventually, but if you don't want them finding out about the testing, then this is just speeding things up...Then there'll be no survivors. WU: Using him as a weapon! DUA: Surprised you didn't think of that first. WU: Well, I'm...surprised that you did! DUA: I won't be long. WU: Dr. Dua...Make sure you're careful; when Masrani's park gets on its feet; we'll need you. DUA: I'll take that as a 'thank you'! I'll meet you at the boat. WU: Good luck.
